Based on PA elections as a whole, it’s a sign of good fortune at least for Democrats imo. They’ve edged the GOP on turnout by around 30-50,000 votes last I checked, Haley is pulling in 160k votes in a closed primary, where mail ballots were cast after she had dropped out. Biden easily getting 93% of the vote.

    They what the GOP

New poll. This one was difficult because I am not as interested in crime as a policy/issue as I am in other areas.

The idea of cities being high crime seems kind of alien to me, despite me being an urban person born in a city. I have never been around high crime at all and I have not seen it -- in Dallas, Austin, San Marcos, Plano, Greenville, New Orleans, DC, Boston/Cambridge, Philadelphia, NYC. I even walked through the Queensbridge Projects in Queens at 3am by myself and felt safe.

Go to Philadelphia after an Eagles game. Doesn't matter if they win or lose. Take cover.

When women are still stuck in the medieval ages unable to attend school and drive, when people are killed out in the open by government via chemical attacks, when homosexuals are thrown off of rooftops or beaten in the streets, when no sense of equality under the law exists yes, as a tan person, not entirely brown myself, I think their ideas are shit and should be eliminated.

On a side note, Iranian people seem to be yearning for a freedom package…

It's tough because unfortunately most of those places want and approve of that shit but I appreciate the response.

Also out of curiosity would you vote for Bernie over Trump? Or is that enough to make you a third partier/nonvoter?

    Also post skin tone (kidding)

What about a system with no regulation, and fully public funded? If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor… but he may have a few kooky ideas as to how to treat you.

Holistic/alternative medicine is based and overstigmatized if it's your personal choice. But I don't think it should be publicly-funded over western, clinical-trial medicine.

No matter what we do with healthcare, we do need to deregulate pharma and create more competition in that industry.

Agree 100%. When I mean more heavy-regulated if we stick w a private option I'm talking about insurance companies. Pharma regulation is crazy. I work in the pharma industry and just saw a drug in the clinical phase get the entire process restarted because a technician made a typo (but also lol).

  6. Healthcare is probably my most left-wing opinion. But I think more than anything the US needs to make up it's mind on what type of healthcare it wants to provide. I would prefer a UK-like NHS system but I would also prefer a heavily-regulated, fully-private system as opposed to current US healthcare which attempts to do both.

Big sticking point because you can roll it over into a Roth IRA if you retire early and I believe the contribution/earnings rule for early withdrawals (where you can withdraw contributions without penalty but not earnings) still apply.

I find one of the great ironies in my 21 years on this Earth is that some of the most "progressive" people who have an irrational hatred of the rich, are themselves, much more wealthier than the average Joe. I find this dichotomy between us intriguing because I'm what you would call a broke college student. But I've worked through everything, and for everything I've got.

I also invest and have a 401k, ROTH IRA, some stocks, etc. Real estate soon potentially.

Ideally, I'd like to see the bulk of Federal welfare gone and most of it returned to the states, but I answered in a more practical manner.

The problem with welfare today is that it's acting like a permanent institution or a permanent role in people's lives. For the vast majority of people on welfare today, it should be a temporary effort to get them going again, and hopefully find a successful, worthwhile career in whatever they seek. Some people are complacent in their receiving of welfare, this isn't a good attitude or outlook on life to have at all in my opinion. Some welfare policies, particularly geared towards minorities have perpetuated poverty, and the effects of that are still seen today.

If welfare were made more of a local responsibility, it could respond to the needs of people better. And we could get rid of the bloated, complacent system the Federal Government currently has.

I'll end it with 3 quotes that are related to this topic, and play a large role in guiding my philosophy on this issue:

By the way, here's a meme that showcases the hypocrisy among MAGA in particular over the issue, this topic reminded me of it and when the whole "Texas secession" craze was ongoing, this really made me laugh. Often it seems the people complaining about welfare freeloaders the most, are the ones benefitting from welfare...

  12. And @vcczar don't take that as disrespect I highly value ur thoughts on this matter but you may want to review the transcript again. Is it the most appropriate word to use given past events? Maybe not, but I think it's clear what he was referencing.

Type "bloodbath" in the search bar and you will find the phrase has been used over a dozen times in other threads before this one, mostly in a figurative sense (besides the two hunger games posts lol).

How can the word “bloodbath” possibly relate to car manufacturing. He’s applying “bloodbath” to the country right here:

“Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole – that’s gonna be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it.”

Car manufacturing = bloodbath for the whole country. Makes no sense.

Then there’s the extra conundrum of “the least of it.” What would be more than a “bloodbath?” Or is that last bit in reference to the country and it could be global? Or is he just saying something to say something?

He’s almost unintelligible. I still don’t see how the comment connects to the car industry, even some GOP people, such as Cassidy are accepting that his “bloodbath” comment bothers people because they might not about car manufacturing.

In the event the words are, they’re so poorly chosen as to almost be nonsensical.

This is a reach. Look at the wider monologue and he was talking about the automotive industry. That being said, don't act like "bloodbath" isn't a common figure of speech. It is.
