  1. Attack Cato Neimoidia: Supreme Chancellor Farr smiled smugly. It was nice to be the first Rodian to bear this high honor. The galaxy needed a warlike species, such as his, to head it in these troubled times. Valorum was a good man, but he lacked the killer instinct that came from a species that eked out survival on a jungle world where everything was trying to kill you. Nature had taught the Rodians hard lessons, and now Farr would harness them for the good of the galaxy. While the humans as a whole lacked this, Grand Admiral Tarkin was not among them. He would be an able partner for Farr as he was for Valorum. During their inaugural meeting Farr would expand upon the strategy of attacking the corporate puppet masters of the CIS. With the knowledge that the CIS was not properly funding their fleets…Farr paused and grinned inwardly, they weren’t funding much of anything after the raid on the Banking Clan’s vaults…now was the time to escalate the war. The Republic did not begin this struggle, but it would finish it. Farr traveled to Tarkin’s flagship and instructed him to commit a massive number of ground forces to the battle on Cato Neimoidia. With the successful passage of a galaxy-wide draft, the Republic would have a nearly endless well of manpower for the war. The reserve ground forces of Vandor-3 could be parceled out while draftees backfilled them. It was time to end the struggle for this cursed planet. Or at the very least ensure the Neimoidians never draw any profit from it again. Attack Geonosis: The next target would be Stalgasin Hive of the planet Geonosis. And if Poggle the Lesser could be captured all the better. This would kill three birds with one stone. First it would relieve pressure on his world of Rodia, surrounded as it was by separatist worlds. Delivery another blow to the Executive Separatist Council. And, probably most importantly, take a major droid producing world out of the equation for the CIS. Naturally the Republic would shift those factory productions over to their own droids once capture. Farr would have Tarkin reconstitute the fleet that attacked Deko Neimoidia with fresh reinforcements from the Republics many shipyards, and ground units from Vandor-3. This fleet would then attack to occupy Geonosis. Attack Felucia: The last blow would land against the Commerce Guild headquarters world of Felucia. This would be the prize of the fleet that so recently liberated Corellia, augmented with replacement for its dead and wounded. A strike at another corporate backer of the CIS, but also a move towards lessening any potential pressure on Mon Calamari. The planet also produced the Nysillin healing herb in abundance, which would serve the Republic nicely.

  11. Corellia Campaign: Valorum was utterly shocked by the by recent series of events. The investigation into the former Senator Palpatine was only supposed to unearth some salacious tidbit to damage his chances to win the Supreme Chancellor race. Not expose him as the leader of the cabal of Sith that attempted to murder Senator Farr. And the evidence from the Jedi Council was equally damning. How different things had unraveled from what he expected. At least this turn of events all but guaranteed Farr the Supreme Chancellorship. But it would appear Palpatine would not go gently into that good night. His call to the people of the Republic, and by extension their Senators, to still support him was unthinkable. The gal of a man so beaten to continue fighting was almost admirable. Surely the people, and hopefully the Senate, would see through someone aligned with the Sith. But what to do with the Senators that willingly voted for a Sith lord. Perhaps they could join Senator Quarren Tikkes in prison? Although that was no course for a democracy. Thankfully Valorum thought, that will be Farr’s problem to deal with. Now, however, more pressing issues required his attention. Palpatine was incredibly focused on the clone army of Kamino. This bears some looking into, as a clone army committed to a Sith lord instead of the Republic could spell disaster. Valorum had just the man for the job. One of his newest lieutenants; Bail Organa. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Valorum greeted Supreme Admiral Tarkin onboard the Decimator for an in-person update on the war effort. The near total disaster of the Mon Calamari gambit grieved him deeply. But war is full of tough decisions that good men must pay the consequences for. Tarkin had just completed his briefing on the current situation of Corellia. Tarkin recommended committing the ground forces of the counterattack after extensive tactical bombardment by close-air-support starships. Valorum nodded in agreement. “The only adjustment I would make to the initial landing is to ensure we lead with a multi-species division. We cannot afford to let the CIS win the propaganda war here. Corellia will be won or lost by the efforts of the whole Republic and no one species. And one additional thing. Once your forces make planetfall begin distributing weapons to the civilian population resisting Jonash Solo. Nothing quite motivates people to fight like someone invading their home and trying to set themselves up as a dictator.” Purse World Campaign: Tarkin moved the brief onto the attacks of Cato and Deko Neimoidia. The attacks had, at least tactical, not gone as planned. Though it was hard to dismiss the strategic value of knocking two very important shipyards out of commission. Valorum authorized a portion of the Vandor-3 reserve forces to reinforce the fleet, and Tarkin to do what he must in order to achieve air superiority over the purse worlds. Some of the ships from the Senate’s recently approved military expansion would have to backfill them. Valorum further authorized ground forces from the reserve as well to occupy both planets. Ground soldiers would hopefully no longer be a concern following the passage of more legislation in the Senate. Again another tasks that Organa would have to come through on. And while he was casting hope about, he wished the Senate could see the wisdom in conscription, especially now with the war turning hot and a known Sith lord on the prowl. Raid on Scipio: As Tarkin wound down his brief on the situation of the war Valorum brought up his final reason for the visit. The next target of the Republic’s military might. “Our strike on the purse worlds has certainly weakened the Trade Federation and the greater CIS. We must continue to bring the war to the corporate backers of the CIS. They are the real power behind the CIS, and not whatever facsimile of a ‘Senate’ Dooku puts on at Raxus. And if we can break them, it will go a long way in shortening this war. Therefore I want a relatively small, but quick and stealthy force to raid Scipio. Their objective will be the Intergalactic Banking Glan’s vaults on the world. We are not attempting to occupy Scipio merely conduct a hit and run. However, when we strike I either want the currency stored in those vaults capture to fund the Republic’s war effort, or destroyed to deprive the Banking Clan and the CIS of their use."
  12. For story telling purposes, the Republic requested these jedi masters to perform battle meditation during the attacks on Cato and Deko Neimoidia
  13. Edouard and I are going to split events. I'll be posting the first three here. Counterattack 1: Valorum woke in a cold sweat. He had never believed himself to be force sensitive, but ever since the invasion of Corellia he had been having premonitions of a distant place in the far future. Of a human or at least near human by the name of John...no...James Buchanan, and how beings even further in the future were comparing Valorum to him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Valorum could not believe that Count Dooku authorized this attack. Naturally when Dooku was declared the leader of the CIS, Valorum had sought out his former padawan Master Qui-Gon Jin to learn the measure of the man who would rend the Republic in two. He thought of Dooku as at least a fellow reformer, if not a downright honorable man. If only Valorum had embraced the reformist agenda years before, maybe this all could have been avoided. But now…now Dooku, for all his talk of self-determination, was invading the Republic, forcing an absolute monarch on a democratic planet, and terror bombings of civilians; there was no honor in this. Valorum glanced at his clock; 0437 in the morning. Tarkin would be up, and it was time to end this attempted coup on one of the Republic’s most important worlds. “Admiral Tarkin, I want you to reinforce Garm Bel Iblis fleet with a portion of the fleet we have prepared at Vandor-3. Enough to achieve a decent qualitative and quantitative edge over the separatist fleet. Put out a call for any planets in grid sector M11 to commit a portion of their planetary defense fleets for the counterattack. Any ground forces Corellia committed to the Republic army make sure they are the first on the ground once we break the blockade to relieve their fellow countrymen. Follow them up with Naboo ground units. Master Yoda’s diplomacy will be dividends in this campaign.” Counterattack 2: Valorum still speaking to Tarkin: "On a separate but related note, an interesting proposal has reached my desk from a Lieutenant Commander Gial Ackbar. Odd for someone so junior, but his ideas bear hearing out. He wants to retrofit Mon Calamari passenger ships and deep space exploration ships into Star Cruiser capital ships. Give him the go ahead, and have him lead the first batch to support the Corellian liberation. Time the attack of their arrival and hopefully we can catch the separatists in a pincer movement. Once that is complete have the retrofit continue for as many ships as the Mon Calamari can spare, and ready them for inevitable defense of Mon Calamari homeworld. Between this and their shipyards they should contribute greatly to the Republic's and their own defense. Attack: Valorum instructs Tarkin to launch an assault on the Neimoidian sector with the objective being the occupation of Cato Neimoidia and Deko Neimoidia. Capturing these "purse worlds" will destory the Neimodians as a fighting force outside the trade federation. A sizable portion of the Vandor-3 forces (while still leaving a reserve to react to separatist moves) augmented by planetary defense forces from core worlds along the Perlimian trade route (Alsakan, Anaxes, Corulag, and Chandrila) will form the force. The ground forces will consist of the Republic’s droid army, notably the L8-L9s, SD-6 Hulks, and Droidekas. The Neimoidians started this unfortunate chain of events with their Naboo blockade and now they shall bear the republics righteous furry.
  14. Thanks. Sorry to bug you about it, but I'm pretty ignorant of the overwhelming number of planets in the star wars galaxy
  15. I drew up a map with planet information WVProgressive posted. I don't know about y'all but I need a visualization for something this complex. To give credit where it is due, I got the base map from here and augmented it with information from wookiepedia and here. Some planets (around five) were not listed on either map so I just placed them in the grid square wookiepedia said there were in. I ran into some discrepancies that I'd like @WVProgressive to clarify. -I think there were some minor spelling errors for some planets (Cardia instead of Carida, Qillura instead of Qiilura, Muunlinst instead of Muunilist, Beldrone instead of Belderone, Deservo instead of Deservro). Just want to make sure those assumptions are correct and there are not planets with very similar names. -A couple planets were listed twice (Yinchorr, Barlok, and Kooriva). Were these just doubled up or are they like Raxxus Prime and Secundus? -I also added Bespin to the Republic. -Finally some planets were listed in both the Republic and CIS column (Qillura and Belgaroth). Belgaroth was in the core so I made the assumption it was part of the Republic. Qillura is in the mid rim but surrounded by other Republic planets so I figured it was also with the Republic. If that is not true let me know and I'll change it. Here is the key for the map: Green: Republic Red: CIS Inner portion of circle: planet owner Outer portion of Circle: if different than inner, denotes an attack on that planet (for example Corellia is being attacked by the CIS) Map is best viewed at 400% zoom. You can search planets with ctrl+f Turn 5 Map.pptx
  16. I'm open to sharing/splitting control. My discord is Ricky#3291 if you want to chat
  17. Rescue 2X: Master Yaddle and a sizable contingent of Jedi knights will accompany the Republic’s strike force destined for Bespin. Their primary objectives are the rescue of Master Windu, and the capture or killing of General Grievous. Following the initial battle, they will aid the Bespin guards to drive any invaders off the planet. Finally Master Yaddle and Windu will attempt to complete Windu’s original mission of convincing Bespin to declare for the Republic. Train Anakin: While Master Qui-Gon Jin recovers from his injuries sustained from Darth Wilde, Master Yoda will temporarily take over tutoring young Anakin. He will focus on the nature of the living force and the Jedi philosophy. Jedi Recruitment: Master Plo Koon will search for force sensitive children out in the Expansion Region. He will pay particular attention to the Togruta species who have often contributed many members to the Jedi order. Investigation: With Obi Wan in the Bakura system and Master Qui-Gon Jin wounded the Jedi High Council will assign Masters Ki-Adi-Mundi and Yarael Poof to continue the investigation into the Sith. Perhaps to Dathomir or looking further into the band of soldiers that support the two Dathomirains on Raxus. @Sean F Kennedy hope everything works out for your friend
  18. If @WVProgressive is ok with that, I have no problem with assisting
  19. Proposal: Valorum sat in office unable to focus. The past two months had been another mixed bag. Hopefully the CIS false flag reveal would keep any wavering sectors loyal to the Republic. The Reform Party had met with some, if not a monumental success. Even Farr, despite a less than stellar announcement, was still in the game for the Chancellor race. However, his meeting with master Yoda was what clouded his mind. Master Windu had been captured and held hostage by Grievous; that whole affair had been a mistake. Worse still, another run in with the Sith. There were clearly more than a handful of Sith, and images of the New Sith Wars raced through his mind. He forced his mind to focus on that fact, the Sith had truly and unarguably returned. He called for his chief of staff. “Rad, I need the Vice-Chancellor, Supreme Admiral Tarkin, and the heads of all the important Senate committees...” He paused and thought to himself, the potential future Chancellors deserved to know as well. “…Get me Palpatine and Farr as well. We have something very important to discuss.” … Valorum again stood on his pod in the center of the Senate building. He did not want to have to be the man to announce the return of this old evil. He did not want to do many things fate had pushed him towards this last year. And yet destiny waited for no one. The Senate deserved to know. The people deserved to know. The soldiers who would be laying their lives down soon deserved to know. He held a cylindrical object over his head and activated it. Dazzling crimson red emitted from it and the distinctive undulating sound of a light saber reverberated off the Senate chamber walls. He paused letting every Senator see the Sith blade, deactivated it and handed it to his jedi protector. “My fellow Senators I bear terrible news. The Sith have returned! This light saber was taken from the body of a Sith that Jedi Master Qui-Gon so expertly slew. Irrefutable proof that for the first time since the New Sith Wars we face a Sith threat. We must redouble our efforts to prepare to defend the Republic in every way we can. Clones while a useful tool, cannot be the only tool in our defense. We must muster every resource available to stand against the Sith.” “To combat the Sith I am therefore calling for the Senate to approve additional funds for the military; to form and bolster regional defense forces modeled after the Republic Outland Regions Security Force. As well as subsidize the expense of expanding planetary defense armies and fleets. For far to long we have let the Outer and Mid Rim bear the brunt of pirate attacks. Sector like Bakura should never have more planets than defense ships. This alone was immoral, but they and the rest of the Republic will need more ships to not only fight the piracy threat, but the CIS and now a Sith threat as well. These funds will have the Kuat, Anaxes, Mon Cala and other shipyards running round the clock to ensure our mutual safety…” [Bold portion is the gist of the proposal] Proposal 2X: While Valorum headed the effort to rally support to fight the Sith military, Senator Farr would head the effort to fight it morally. Farr would attempt to make good on one of the founding promises of the Reform Party: anti-corruption. Hopefully he would gain some popularity along the way, if not with the Senate than the common people. He had prepared an impressive piece of legislation, that would accomplish several of the goals Valorum hoped the constitutional convention would have achieved. It stripped all corporations from representation in the Senate and forbade the practice in the future, forbade monopolies, severely limited corporate “gifts” to Senators, enacted whistleblower protection, increased government transparency (in non-classified areas), restructured and increased both the power and independence of the judiciary. The bill further banned certain practices by Senators including nepotism, insider trading, single stock purchases [or star wars equivalent], embezzlement, and kickbacks, amongst others. It would increase penalties for crimes, with especially harsh penalties for crimes involving spice and slavery, committed by Senators. Lastly it would create an enforcement agency (the Senate Internal Affairs Service) that would police the Senate for corruption. Now with the revelation of the Sith, Jedi knights would be incorporated into this agency as it cannot be ruled out that the Sith maybe driving some of this corruption. Farr would ask Palpatine, Ammedda, Ryder and Tikkes to endorse or co-sponsor the legislation. He was notably hopeful of Ryder’s buy in given his anti-corruption viewpoint and friendship with Valorum. If they refuse to endorse the bill it would at least give him a cudgel to beat them with in the Chancellor race. Militarist Schmoozing: Farr will make the rounds among the militarist Senators, a group that cuts across factions. He will point to his role as shepherding the Military Creation Act into law, how he oversaw the committee to organize the new military, and how he is from a martial people. Farr hopes to win their votes in the Chancellor race and win them to the Reform Party. He will make a concerted effort to win over the militarist supporters of Palpatine. Spec Ops Strike: Valorum instructs Supreme Admiral Tarkin to launch a rescue operation with the Republic’s finest special operations units to Bespin. The goal of the operation will be to free Master Windu and if possible, kill General Grievous creating the opportunity for the Besbin guard to retake Cloud City. Valorum authorizes Tarkin to employ a special military contractor for the mission, Cade Bane. He invites and implores the Jedi to accompany the Republic strike force.
  20. Command and General Staff College. It is a US army 'university' (for lack of a better word) that teaches majors (or soon to be majors) on operational leadership, military history, and joint operations amongst other topics.
  21. Looking forward to this. We are studying Jomini and Clausewitz in my CGSC now. It will be nice to have a real world use for that knowledge 😁
  22. Better, stronger, faster: Valorum glanced up from his holopad, as an aid briefed him on updates of the assembling of the Republics military, at the mention of the name Garm Bel Iblis. “Perhaps I misjudged him. Of course he may lead his forces personally into battle, and may the bravery of those like him sustain the Republic.” Valorum returned to his holopad. The assembling of the planetary defense force with the Judicial Force was going well. The clone portion was also gaining momentum. Valorum counted himself lucky that he and his allies were not the only ones pushing military readiness. That men like Senator Palpatine were also ensuring the Republic was ready for war. But the droid proponent was not making much progress. He looked at his aid again, “call Senator Far and ensure he makes headway on purchasing as many L8-L9 from TaggeCo, and SD-6 Hulks from Balmorran Arms, as possible. We will need every war asset to defend against the CIS. I see no reason just because they use droids we cannot.” As the first aid scurried off, a second burst into the office. “Supreme Chancellor, Qymaen jai Sheelal has been wounded in a Separatist attack.” Valorum sighed and collected himself. “Have him stabilized and brought to Coruscant. His body is damaged beyond even what the greatest surgeons in the galaxy can repair, but we can save his life through cybernetics and machine parts. Hopefully he will appreciate the upgrades." “When he is able, I would like to personally present him and his people the opportunity to strike back against the CIS.” A wry thought crossed Valorum’s mind. A droid general for the Republic’s droid army. Party Formation: Valorum would take yet another unprecedented step in his reformist cause, the creation of a formal political party in the Republic Senate. While the Senate was not immune to factions, with the Core and Rim factions being the most prominent and the more recent Militarist vs Anti-Militarist, Valorum wanted to make the next logical jump and provide a formal network to support his reformist goals of saving the Republic. His ‘Reform Party’ would be dedicated to reforming the Republic (naturally) and stand for a federal union, anti-corruption/crime syndicates, anti-corporatism (i.e. corporations having representation in the Senate or the ability to bully whole planets), militarism (in the sense the republic should have a military and especially use it to defend its member worlds from pirates and hostile powers), and generally improving the lot of the common man/alien. The Party’s first goals will be the election of a reformist senator to the Supreme Chancellor position (Farr), and the passage of anti-corruption legislation. Core Faction Schmoozing: Valorum will make the rounds in the human dominated Core Faction attempting to gain support for Farr’s chancellor run and his Reform Party. He will emphasis how Farr and the Reform Party’s federalizing goal overlap with some goals of the Core Faction. Rim Faction Schmoozing: Farr will make the rounds in, what is left of the post-secession, alien dominated Rim Faction attempting to gain support for his chancellor run and the Reform Party. Farr will acknowledge the problems with the current Republic, and how he and the Reform Party will address these issues; especially concerning equality with alien races and end the neglect of the outer rim worlds. Bothan Spynet: Valorum instructs the Bothan Spynet to dig into what happened on Raxus and who ordered the bombing. If it was a Separatist plot, he instructs the Spynet to make the information publicly available along with a message that warns the rim worlds of what the Separatist are capable of. His aim is to win some of the rim systems back to the Republic or at least stanch the bleeding of further systems.
