Say Something Nice About Each Other (Compliment Thread)

In honor of a new beginning for many of us, I'd like to welcome this new spring of cooperation and summer of love with a space for each forum user to say something kind about everyone else we share this corner of the Internet with. It can be what you admire most about that person, what you like most about them, a fun memory or story, any positive comment you'd like to share about your fellow Doblets and company.

I'll go first by making a general compliment saying that this is by far the most cohesive and positive (even in our moments) internet community of which I've ever been a part. Next a few examples for individuals (I'll be adding to this list continuously, don't worry!)

@vcczar One of the most determined people with whom I've ever had the pleasure of making acquaintance. His continued work for his many projects, on top of his day job, is really remarkable.

@DakotaHale Patine hit this nail on the head, one of the easiest-going folks (especially on the internet). A great businessman and proprietor of this establishment, and one of thickest skins. Three cheers for Dakota!

@MrPotatoTed What a positive individual. I guess it comes with the territory of recognizing that the internet is, in fact, just that, the internet. But Ted has the ability to ensure that each scenario we encounter here has a known silver lining. A wonderful self-deprecator, he never toots his own horn about his copious accomplishments (I mean, veteran, family man, actor, PR extraordinaire? C'mon!)

@Pringles Sort of a mini me I might say, Prongle is my Vice til the forum implodes, and that's all there is to it.

@Hestia Honestly my favorite left-winger with whom to exchange opinions on the internet. Very rarely are there enriching exchanges with those across the aisle on the internet, but I never fail to walk away from a conversation with Hestia having been enriched in at least some small way.

@Fbarbarossa An optimist to the last, Barb is the picture of resiliency. No matter how many times he is knocked down, he just gets right back up. 

@Edouard There is scarcely anyone at whom I'd rather repeatedly shout "PECRESSE PECRESSE PECRESSE!" and expect nothing but mirth and that signature smiling emote.

@Sean F Kennedy Sean is a chill guy, I mean really chill. (An ounce of weed in the car anyone?) But it's that disposition that really lends itself to Sean's visage of a friendly online face and someone eminently easy to shoot the breeze with.

@WVProgressive One of the most fascinating individuals with whom I've ever spoken about matters of the world. I can always count on Max for an insightful and thought-provoking perspective that will often defy previous expectation.

@Kitten How kind can one be? Perhaps the superlative for this question ought to be "kitten". If someone is the smile of the Doblets, it's kitten.

@Rezi Our eminent court jester, there is never a dull moment with fair Rezi around to provide much needed levity.

@Rodja I love how excited you get about things that interest you, it's supremely wholesome.

@The Blood Vermin Supreme, that is all.

@ConservativeElector2 Tu avem novam est. Never before would I have constructed an Austrian Americaphile who is a superfan of both George Bush and BTS, alas, CE2 breaks down all barriers and pre-conceived notions. Even when we butt heads on matters of policy, it's nice to talk shop with another righty, or at least another hopeless Reagan stan.

@Zenobiyl Talk about work ethic, I have never seen anyone put in the hours of research and careful consideration into one of my RP projects as Zeno. Always a surefire way to make a DM feel loved and appreciated, Zeno is the allstar of that game.

@Cal Fair, balanced, you'd think you were watching Fox News. Cal is smart as a whip, a favorite fellow legal nerd, and possesses one of the greatest capacities for impartiality you'll find in our divisive plane.

@Timur I'm really not sure where you came from, you just sort of showed up on the forum sporting your esoteric politics and signature Boltonstache and we've been eternally enriched for it as a community. Never stop contributing those out in left field Timur takes.

@mark2 I'm still not entirely sure where you go to school. Nevertheless, our conversations are always fun and you keep the general chat lively, that's for sure.

@Cenzonico Talk about conviction. You keep us all young my friend, and you provide that little bit of ancap flavor we'd be desperately lost without. Never change, (though you almost certainly will).

And finally, I'd be remiss if I omitted the most steadfast person with whom I've ever interacted. Mr. @Patine. We've had our differences but this place would not be the same without you. You provide a consistent and rigidly vetted opinion on most issues we discuss and in your steadfastness you provide a masterclass in how to avoid flip-flopping like the plague. Your non-political opinions are often just as strong and sometimes even more provocative. Your crusades against certain food establishments will never cease to put a smile on my face.

@Hestia If God put 2 people on this Earth to just be the same coin, but just the opposite sides, I guess you'd have me and Hestia. Despite political differences we agree on a lot, find common ground almost always, and we have pretty similar personal lives I'd say.

@Fbarbarossa A solid left wing optimist, but one of the most honest people I know. Stay true, and while I may not always reply, I always enjoy discussing alt-hists with you. 😛 

@Edouard The nicest French man I have ever met. Honestly, the nicest guy I've met on the internet overall. Always a pleasure to engage in conversation with. You're also one of the smartest, most academic people I know. Once your studies are over you WILL do great things. I know it. 🙂 

@Sean F Kennedy You host the funniest RP's ever, you yourself are one of the most bipartisan left wingers I've ever seen, and that in and of itself is awesome. You're honest, and have a great sense of humor, you know who the real GOATS are when it comes to comedians. Stay based Sean. 😎 

@WVProgressive I guess I'll never forget what all we've been through together eh? You're a maverick of your ideology, you love Space, and you're incredibly smart. You're also an awesome RP team mate, even if there were hiccups along the way... stay true Maxine. You're awesome, you have an epic future. Don't let others bring you down. 😎

@Rezi Despite being a math lover, you're one of the most libertarian/progressive individuals I've seen. And even though we have stark differences on foreign policy, we both share a great sense of humor, and you never cease to engage in funny activities. All in all, you're a funny awesome guy. 😛

I feel like I can't make this list because I don't regularly interact with many people on this forum and there might be one person with whom I have nothing good to say. The best thing I can is that almost all of you are extremely worthy people...of the world, of affection, of this forum, and of my time. To those for which this is true, you are life-enhancing and my existence--and I'm sure the existence of others on this forum--are greatly improved. I can't imagine not having met you all.

@ConservativeElector2 We haven't interacted that much but even when we've argued it's never been less than civil and when we have talked it's always been engaging.

@Zenobiyl Great in RPs. The times we've aligned in those has been great fun with plenty of excitement. Outside of that you're just a great guy to talk to and when you took that ling break for something that's called... A life I think? I don't know as I don't have one XD. The forum/discord was all the poorer.

@Cal Friendly, friendly, friendly. Best way to put it, open and cool, always with an objective viewpoint. Keep doing you!

@Timur An interesting guy with some interesting takes! You took the forum by storm and we're all the better for it!

@mark2 This guy!! Politically we don't always agree, and the stuff we have agreed on is stuff I wouldn't expect us to. Outside of that, on a personal level, you're great to laugh with an just a chill guy.

@DakotaHaleThe Laissez-Faire Admin that we all deserve. You know exactly when and when not to intervene, and have helped to facilitate a healthy and mostly fun atmosphere.

@MrPotatoTedYet another hard-worker, and I would say our local renaissance man! Ted's life experience shows in his positivity and his maturity, which are important for him as the mod who is often around to help reel the rest of us in. I also can't end this blurb without thanking him for his service.

@PringlesTo my knowledge, the closest thing to a fellow programmer man on the forum. A good ol' moderate conservative, the kind that doesn't exist quite enough anymore. Although I will fight you over foreign policy, I think we can find plenty of common ground and good solutions working together on domestic policy.

@Hestia There he is! It's my favorite liberal! Hestia is among the best of us when it comes to backing up his opinions with facts and coming from a place of intelligence. I feel like almost anybody could find common ground with you, and you're very good at really people back to reality.

@vcczar Extremely hard-worker and I echo the previous account of a colleague that I wish he was my college professor. I had a terrible attendance record in school (ironically I haven't missed a day at my current job, even worked unknowingly with covid for 2 days), but I would probably attend his class even if just to ask a bunch of stupid questions. Very insightful and has taught me a lot. Has been all three of the previous forum's de-facto leader's and has a leadership ability to match his work-ethic and time-management.

@DakotaHale Hard worker, gigachad. Very good style indeed. Good taste in cigars and liquor as well. Excellent cook. Can make the impossible possible. Predict the last five Super Bowls? Piece of cake. Outpizza the Hut? Let's not get too crazy. Maybe should take a vacation soon. Also an absolute dipshit when it comes to time-management.

@MrPotatoTed Loads of respect for this guy. Very smart, and honest, will admit when he's wrong/not knowledgeable in a subject instead of bullshitting you. Like Dobs said has a lot of accomplishments but he'd never tell you. A George Bush Democrat is a rarity and so are good-hearted people. Also fellow Ohioan and healthcare worker.

@Pringles Gigachad. Would co-invest on a venture with him. Will definitely be a success one day (though not as much as me of course). Should probably follow me on Instagram. Can be a huge troll sometimes but means well.

@Hestia Easy-going. Is probably 5'9 IRL but has a 6'6 personality. Never instigates things and also serves as a mediator and voice of reason at times.

@Fbarbarossa If he sent me to the gulag during the revolution I know he'd at least kick me back a pack of cigars before I get killed for being a landlord. And that means everything.

@Edouard I don't partake much in the RP threads so I haven't had much of a chance to know him personally, but he seems like a friendly chad. And I vaguely recall a good taste in TV/movies somehow as well.

@Sean F Kennedy Fellow Ohioan I think. He knows as well as I do (and everyone else in this state) that suffering breeds character and anyone that can put up with Ohio's shittiest weather can put up with the baddest of actors on this site and I think he shows this well with a very likeable personality.

@WVProgressive Probably my ideological opposite(maybe, idk?) but we've found a few surprising common grounds before. Possesses a very selective and deep intelligence on certain subjects. That's not a slight, that's a compliment. It's good to specialize -- I'd rather get my asshole examined by a proctologist than a dentist/optometrist/neuroscientist/fireman.

@Kitten Very nice. Based name. Not much of a cat person but I'm fine with this one in the pack. Teacher of some sort I think (I might be flip-flopping with someone)? Teachers are based. Except for my band teacher who slept with a student.

@Rezi Gigachad. Great sense of humor and also piracy-is-based-pilled. Shitpost game is almost on tier with me.

@Rodja Very wholesome person. Very passionate too. I think you support the wrong ideas with the goodest of intentions and hope you think the same of me. We disagree on almost everything but as I said before when the revolution happens I like to think that you'd make sure my gulag had heat half the time.

@The Blood I'm unfortunately not big into the RP threads but a friend of Dob is a friend of mine. Also George Wallave PFP is based (even if it's for an RP). Chad today, Chad tomorrow, Chad forever.

@ConservativeElector2 Absolute gigachad. Arguably more American than me. Drinks liberal tears for breakfast, lunch and dinner and probably has them pumped directly into his house. Very intelligent and watching his progression since the days of the old forum was fascinating. I look forward to your painting career.

@Zenobiyl Another RP person mostly so I can't say much. But still friendly. Has a few good one-liners now and then. Kind of reminds me of Creed from The Office.

@Cal Gigachad from the old days. Ran the most insanely wild Benedict Arnold speedrun that rivals any of my craziest paradox game stories. Will tell my children about the real first POTUS.

@jvikings1 Probably the most ideologically similar person to me on here. Reasonable gigachad. Makes controversial points occasionally but can always back them up.

@Timur Chad. Drops funny one-liners like @Zenobiyl does. Funny pfp.

@mark2 Definitely the comedian of the forum for sure. 

@Cenzonico Dobs, Pringles and I will still support you when you become a liberal in college, and then welcome you back to the good side when you see the "gross pay" on your first paycheck.

@themiddlepolitical Chad from the old days. Probably has more political experience than half of us combined. Was always willing to call me out on the old forums when I deserved it.

How the shit did I forget @Patine. Definitely my favoritest person on the forum. Chad. Has no qualms about emailing me at 3am to tell me my forum sucks. His lexicon includes words only found in the first copy of the King James Version. He pushes the English language to the absolute brink and then uses it to garrote you with a wall of text until all you can say is "what".

He is the most unique person I have ever met in my life. The way he views the world brings me joy. Also has inadvertently been responsible for the modernization of our moderating rules on the site. If we had a forum president he'd get my vote (although he'd step down from any position of authority before he was even inaugurated).

@DakotaHale More than anything, I have to thank you for making this forum in the first place, without you, I honestly don't know if our merry band of political nerds would have stayed as connected as it has, after our exodus from 270soft.

@MrPotatoTed An honorable man, with a strong sense of duty, and dedication. I have serious disagreements with him on numerous issues, but I know from the bottom of my heart that he is a caring, moral man who believes what he believes, because he wants to see a better America, and a better world.

@Pringles You have great taste is science fiction, and I'll never forget the hijinks we got up to in Dobs's 1968 RP. Here's to you, Mr. Nixon.

@Hestia A liberal who cares deeply about the plight of people around the world, even those he will never meet. A deeply empathetic, and intelligent individual, who's made a great sparring partner in rps whenever I've faced him.

@Fbarbarossa One of the best roleplayers I've ever seen, a great Palpatine, and an even better Joker. A fellow nerd, a true Socialist, and a good friend.

@Edouard A bright, kind man who's always ready to give a truly intriguing insight on current events, or a short history lesson on French political history.

@Sean F Kennedy I remember one of my first conversations as a true member of this community was with you, and I'll always consider you a true friend.

 @Patine You're not a very agreeable man, but I wouldn't have you any other way. The forum wouldn't be the same without you 🙂

 @Patine I could use this as an opportunity to throw childish insults as was common before, but I'd rather not. Patine, despite the jokes and the copypastas, seems like one of the most consistent guys on the forum. Whatever he believes in, he truly believes in.

@Kitten Likeable, friendly, around 73 different synonyms for the previous two words, guy. One of the truly nicest people I've seen on the forum.

@Rezi Despite the taste for mold cheese ruining your wings, it is generally always fun speaking with you.

@Dobs Although he may still not understand my current academic situation, Dobs is a true leader and a seemingly swell guy. I have never seen someone truly dislike Dobs, at most it's a simple disagreement or something of the sort. 

 

(I apologize if I left someone important off for whatever reason, I'm not exactly the most active on the forum and lost contact with many people after my long absence from the 270soft forum, so I'm still not the most well-versed when it comes to the community.)

@Pringles Sort of a mini me I might say, Prongle is my Vice til the forum implodes, and that's all there is to it.

@Hestia Honestly my favorite left-winger with whom to exchange opinions on the internet. Very rarely are there enriching exchanges with those across the aisle on the internet, but I never fail to walk away from a conversation with Hestia having been enriched in at least some small way.

@Fbarbarossa An optimist to the last, Barb is the picture of resiliency. No matter how many times he is knocked down, he just gets right back up.

@Sean F Kennedy Sean is a chill guy, I mean really chill. (An ounce of weed in the car anyone?) But it's that disposition that really lends itself to Sean's visage of a friendly online face and someone eminently easy to shoot the breeze with.

@WVProgressive One of the most fascinating individuals with whom I've ever spoken about matters of the world. I can always count on Max for an insightful and thought-provoking perspective that will often defy previous expectation.

@Rezi Our eminent court jester, there is never a dull moment with fair Rezi around to provide much needed levity.

@Cal Fair, balanced, you'd think you were watching Fox News. Cal is smart as a whip, a favorite fellow legal nerd, and possesses one of the greatest capacities for impartiality you'll find in our divisive plane.

@Timur I'm really not sure where you came from, you just sort of showed up on the forum sporting your esoteric politics and signature Boltonstache and we've been eternally enriched for it as a community. Never stop contributing those out in left field Timur takes.

@mark2 I'm still not entirely sure where you go to school. Nevertheless, our conversations are always fun and you keep the general chat lively, that's for sure.

@Cenzonico Talk about conviction. You keep us all young my friend, and you provide that little bit of ancap flavor we'd be desperately lost without. Never change, (though you almost certainly will).

And finally, I'd be remiss if I omitted the most steadfast person with whom I've ever interacted. Mr. @Patine. We've had our differences but this place would not be the same without you. You provide a consistent and rigidly vetted opinion on most issues we discuss and in your steadfastness you provide a masterclass in how to avoid flip-flopping like the plague. Your non-political opinions are often just as strong and sometimes even more provocative. Your crusades against certain food establishments will never cease to put a smile on my face.

This is such an amazing post.  "Gigachad", as the children say these days, I think.  Haha..

And obviously, huge thanks to everyone for the kind words.  They really made my evening, thank you!

I am embarrassed to say that I can't repay the favor as specifically as many of you did, as I don't pay attention to most of the threads.  But the reason I don't pay attention to most of them is because so many of you...probably ALL of you...are so much more educated and aware of current events both in the US and very far beyond it than I am.  I tune in for US Presidential elections and then I"m out again.  I have nothing particularly notable to say, even as a starting point, for most of the discussions here -- but know that I am so freaking impressed and proud by the level of intellect that we attract here.  You all bring a ton of interesting content and discussion to this forum, even if I don't understand most of it.  Haha.

And the humor!  You all are freaking hilarious.  I frequently laugh out loud at many of the things you all say.  

So while I can't specifically tag most people because I don't pay close enough attention to differentiate among many of you, know that I think you ALL are so freaking smart and freaking hilarious.  

But I do have to tag some of you.

Naturally, it starts with @vcczar.  "Hard-working" doesn't even begin to describe his frankly INSANE work ethic.  He made the completely impossible happen, in a way that makes me so freaking proud to be even loosely associated with his passion project. And after talking about AMPU every single day for three years, we've moved beyond that and talk privately about real life issues as well.  He's become a true friend, in addition to being an incredible partner in game development, so extremely flexible  and open to feedback.  His ability to put out top-quality product in an extremely short amount of time...he's absolutely incredible.  The fact that so many of us followed you when you left 270 is a huge testament to how much all of us admire you.

And a huge thanks to @DakotaHale for saving all of us by creating this forum and paying for it out of your own pocket.  And then assembling an outstanding mod team with @vcczar and @Dobs.  You won't find a harder working mod team -- even as some of our hardest work is in trying to make sure we don't use too heavy of a hand as moderators.  I'm as proud to be a part of that team as I am of my involvement with AMPU.

@Cal who has one of the most strategic minds I've ever encountered.  I loved facing off against you in Founding Fathers -- any rare time that I managed to pull off any kind of scheme at all against you, I'd literally dance around my office.  "I did it!  I've trapped him, I have him right where I want him!" and then he'd pull off a perfect counter move. Ha.  And now watching you master AMPU, which is so vital in helping us make sure AMPU's AI can be competitive.  You're the most worthy competitor I've ever found. Ha.

And the rest of our AMPU playtesters: @jvikings1 @ConservativeElector2 @Hestia @Rodja @Rezi @Cal @DakotaHale @WVProgressive @Arkansas Progressive @themiddlepolitical from the current playtest, and all the other playtesters who have been so vital to AMPU's development for the past three years.  You guys put a ton of your own time into helping us make sure the game works in every facet, giving vital feedback, helping us brainstorm.  Needless to say, the game would never exist without @vcczar.  But I think he'd agree that the game wouldn't be as amazing as it is today without all of you helping us test this game every day for YEARS. 

@Mark_W who was the first person to try to help us automate some of the calculations and processes for the forum version of AMPU.  Seeing what you did helped keep thiese tests alive as previously it was so difficult to process manually that I would get burnt out and give up on playthroughs.  But once you demonstrated at least some of what could be done on Google Sheets, that both motivated me to learn how to automate almost every step and also gave me a starting point where reverse engineering what you'd done helped me learn how to automate it myself.  Without you, our playtests likely would have dropped dead without giving meaningful feedback.  

And finally back to @themiddlepolitical who I believe was the one who created the Discord server for both AMPU and as an extension of this forum.  Lots of great discussions on there, you've done a great job cultivating the right community there as well.

And again to everyone I didn't tag, I am so impressed by your intelligence and humor, across the board.

I love coming here every day -- something I can't say about pretty much anything else on the internet.

@Pringles Based Nixon himself. Seriously though you have a bunch of the same interests I have and in a hypothetical world where all of us were in a legislature I’d see us crafting some good bipartisan legislation.

@Fbarbarossa My progressive from across the pond, you’re a truly passionate individual who even when he’s in the minority doesn’t back down from your principles and morals. I agree that we’d probably be friends if we went to school together.

@vcczar A true intellectual who reminds me of the intelligent of Charles Xavier and even though I don’t participate as much as I want to I eagerly await the release of AMPU.

@Edouard A genuinely good and intelligent guy who I get my knowledge of French politics from, and I believe the one person on here who I’ve added on Facebook. I desperately hope you can eventually visit the USA in the near future.

@Zenobiyl I think I speak for everyone when I say we miss talking to you on a regular basis, you’ve played amazing candidates on numerous RPs and have helped create the McGovern mod for TCT one of my absolute favorites.

@jnewt Someone from the old forum I’m really glad made the transfer over with us, I believe you were actually one of the first on 270soft I talked to. A genuinely kind person overall.

 @vcczar Probably the first person I met on the forums, back in 2018. The first thing I joined was his RP, which I attribute as a foundation to the burgeoning RP community on the forum as a whole. For that I'll always be thankful. We're not close, but I feel like I understand and know you well by now. I could say a hundred things about how hardworking and dedicated you are to what you do, and all of them would be right. What's most important to me though is showing that you want something to happen and saw no other way to get it - so you went after it yourself. That's a really admirable characteristic.

@DakotaHale An amazing admin, and a fun person to talk politics with, even if they may be wholeheartedly against what I think 😛 The backbone behind the community, and truly a lifesaver in leaving the 270soft things behind us. I don't think we would be half the numbers we have today without Dakota. Besides that, an amazing person who is no doubt going to go far (and already has) in his life.

 @MrPotatoTed Our GM for AMPU, a true moderate, and an even better person. I don't think anyone else could step into the shoes that he has on this forum and for AMPU. I still remember back in the Actinguy days. Very fun hosting of Founding Fathers, and a general curator of amazing interaction on the forum.

@Pringles Ah, Pringles. Where to even begin. A funny, cool person, but calling you a friend for life is even more important. I've been involved with various things online and have friends over a few communities, but I think you are tied for my best online friend. As you said, like two people born into two ideologies, we have a lot of similarities despite our political leanings 😛 even counting them. There's plenty to say - a cunning manipulator, a secret ally, a hardnosed enemy - we've done it all. Today I got to talk to you (and Cal, but we're getting there lol) for the first time. I wholeheartedly doubt that will be the last. Some day, we will meet, whether in Iowa or South Carolina, or somewhere between 😛 destiny calls! 

 @mark2 The person I reluctantly accepted to call me 'Gene' despite it feeling disparaging for a long time 😛 (and no I am not Eugene so pls don't ban me). A funny person and someone who I tend to agree with out of the blue at points. Livens up the Discord 100%.

@Fbarbarossa Barb lol. Further left than myself, but if I ever want (or get pulled into) an inter-ideological liberal-socialist debate, I know where to go 😉. An ally, an adversary, in between in various RPs over the last few years, I know that it isn't going to end there. I'd definitely rather have you on my team than against me. I can't wait for AMPU to come out so we can team up for real. If I have British news that I want to discuss ASAP or have someone watch a speech I liked, Barb is the first one I call.

@Edouard A truly great person. A heart of gold, Ed and I share in our RP experience going back as well. Interestingly, I don't remember us being allies very often 😛 despite being ideologically similar. Still, the Liberal + Bloc team up was legendary to end those plotters who thought they'd gotten me 😉i.e I just roll over for whatever Ed wanted lol. 

@Sean F Kennedy Another more ideologically similar to me, Sean has ran a number of fun RPs (even if it's out of my comfort zone) and genuinely pours his heart into what he does on the forum. Very willing to come to compromise no matter what the issue is.

@Patine Truly don't know where to begin. An ideological mix - not a Democrat or Republican, that's for sure 😛 we've interacted quite a bit in the 4 years I've been on the iterations of the forums. Even though it's gotten heated a few times, I do credit you that, at least between us, it never seemed to get to a boil and usually could climb down. The only times I've ever really seen you apologize mid-debate were to me, and they were all welcomed. This place quite literally wouldn't be the same without you. 

@Kitten Always willing to try new things, Kitten isn't going to let any stone go unturned! You're willing to do so much over things you're passionate about, it makes me glad that you decided to be a teacher. Your students are going to be very happy as well. 

@Rezi Even though you regularly foil my plans on AMPU only because you have more power than me 😉 it is great to be on the same team as you. I don't know if we could actually counter the Red Team effectively without you on the team. Not saying that literally as in without your people, but without your sense of strategy. An active member on the Discord as well, I can't say enough how much I enjoy just regular conversations on there during the day with everyone. That's where the true activity is, for me. Rezi is a big part of that.

@Rodja Another one with a heart of gold. I still remember in the 2020 RP, where Warren's campaign was struggling (despite some victories 😛 ), I needed to do something to shake up the race and get momentum flowing back my way. I was terrified you were going to go with cringe Gravel, but instead agreed to an alliance with me with minimal negotiations. Your 2020 Dem RP now has been phenomenal as well - I hope you stay around for a long time here.

@The Blood There were the best of times, there were the worst of times 😛 throughout it all, I knew neither of us took anything personally. A bare-knuckled, hardheaded, knives-out fight for power in an RP never dampened anything between the two of us. And the Yang-Warren debates haha. Nevada strat didn't exactly play out, but it was fun to talk strategy anyway. I knew that there was always an undercurrent of friendship there. But the more important thing to me is maybe something you forgot - I didn't. Back in the waning days of the 270soft forum, Anthony launched an incredibly personal attack against me. The first person to come to my defense was Blood. A paragraph's worth of stinging rebuke, it truly lifted my heart at a time where I thought it was time to walk away. 

@ConservativeElector2 An ideological difference from me, that is for sure, but someone who I believe has a very pure heart. Even if I may viscerally disagree with what you say, I know it's never coming from a bad place. Working with you on some of the AMPU social media sites and helping set up where I can showed that you are willing to pitch in to help anybody.

@Zenobiyl Zeno lol. I don't think either of us knew it, but we were playing chess against each other in 68. You took down my senator, I was determined to get you back - and partially did in trying to hunt down who did the Thurmond stuff 😛 a master strategist and someone who will always liven up the RP.

@Cenzonico A very bright individual. Wise beyond your years. A very valued member of the community, whether it's on Discord or on the forum itself. I know I can count on you to make something more lively 😛

@Dobs Another one that I've known for almost the entire time I've been on the forums. I didn't know you well on the forum before the 2020 RP, even though we had interacted a little bit. I do remember playing against you in the New Historical President RP of vcczar's, creating our first (and not last) chess match between left and right. An intelligent, caring person who I always felt like had penned me in a box with what I was trying to argue. This community would not be the same without you - I know we likely would've lost people without you. Maybe me too. When discussing RP related things, I never felt dismissed even when levelling criticism. You are someone who takes everything in exceptional stride, and proud to say that you're my friend. 

@WVProgressive Someone who, despite all of our RPs and such, I don't think we have talked nearly as much as we should. Your RPs are extremely well thought out and you pour your heart into them. I felt bad torpedoing your Progressive Party in 1968, but I did what I must 😛 an exceptional person, who could do almost anything you set your mind to. An amazing person as well. 

@Cal The other person I just got to speak to for the first time today 😛. A very intelligent person, but someone with a very warm heart as well. You would do anything to help someone else, and I am proud to say we've been allies in multiple RPs throughout the years - from Warren and Terry to Kennedy and Johnson. Facing you now in AMPU is a tall task in and of itself. A true mastermind behind a lot of operations! You'll go far in life as well. 

@Timur I don't know Timur near as well as some of the others on this forum, but someone who adds a lot to it as well. Always posting interesting topics to read and view, even if I may not comment on them, they enlighten me a lot to what's going on that I may be missing.

@themiddlepolitical Rezi's lackey.  I kid, I kid 😛 (kinda). A great person, someone who did a lot to get AMPU get going off the ground - was proud to help as much as I could on the Discord that you set up. You brought in a lot of people that we may otherwise not have had. 

There are probably those that I've missed. But every person on this forum has added things to it. I have memories with every single one of you - I expect that this community won't go away for a very, very long time. AMPU will bind us even closer together, I would think. It's always good to look in perspective and remember exactly why we're all still here - because each of us adds something good to this place.

Constantly foiling your plans usually comes from an oversight from myself. I don't consider stopping your justice as a strategic blunder but letting my hunger for power get to me and stealing House Minority Leader from you was certainly not the wrong choice. Most of my strategy comes with keeping the party united (without keeping everyone strictly in line like some people), and I feel that screwing you over was the biggest failure in that strategy. Otherwise, I think that I've done a good job, and I've really been trying to make up for my mistake 😛
