I think the main ideas I need for Courts are Era of the Future Court Legis Prop, Gov Actions, or Pres Actions. Overall, I probably need more Gov Actions regarding courts. Possibly more Pres actions regarding courts.

Could elected Supreme Court Justices be something to be considered?

I was about to suggest the same. If no term limits, then elected whenever a vacancy opens. If 8-year terms, then 1/4th of the Court is elected every election cycle.

Good idea. Maybe there could also be a difference between a retention election and a normal one. Not sure how it is handled on state level IRL but I to my understanding if you lose the retention election you are essentially be recalled from office and afterwards another justice is appointed and retained or outright elected.

Gov actions

  • State is in South, Reconstruction has ended
    • Blacks barred from Juries
    • Black codes are established, and only enforced on blacks
      • Vagrancy leads to hard labor or debt contracts
  • Civil Rights, but the CRA of 64 has not passed
    • All white juries forced to acquit their fellow men of crimes against blacks
    • Minimum sentencing laws against blacks applied harshly
  • Future if an amendment is passed allowing nullification (somehow avoiding the Civil War)
    • Jury duty excludes (minority race) or (immigrant status) or (sexuality)

Pres Actions

  • Advocate for equal rights for black crimes
  • Pledge to lower incarceration rate
    • (or alternatively) apply minimum sentencing law because of crime waves

- Create Appeals Courts

- Create US District Courts

- Establish Admiralty Courts (during wartime)

- Ask Court to settle dispute (if all parties agree, sort of like arbitration but the judgeCPU will make a decision?  Just a thought)

- Establish Death Penalty for crimes and what method (this may be in another section)

- Establish Military Courts (again maybe during wartime)

- Setup Military Tribunals (Civil War or post Civil War for military officers who fought for the other side)

- Eliminate trial by judges only (always have a jury)

- Eliminate trial by jury (only a judge has a say)

Pretty sure they were created by the Judiciary Act of 1789 so maybe not this one.

Alternatively, the aspects that made up the Judiciary Act of 1789 can be split into separate proposals that just get grouped together in committee.
