1. The man, the myth, the legend, Fmr. VP. Dan Quayle would take the stage in Iowa announcing a run for President. He state's it's time to move on the from the Clinton Administration's worst excesses into a new century of American conservatism. He jokes about how the Democrat's in the media made fun of him for a spelling mistake, but at least he never cheated on his wife. "Ross Perot may have taken our votes in 92', but I'm the only candidate up here that's ready to carry on the legacy of President George HW Bush."

IT'S WONDERFUL TO BE IN... Dan Quayle — EnvisianStrategic

2. Quayle begins tapping into social conservative elements as he campaigns in Iowa. He states his strong opposition to abortion and supports a final amendment on the issue.

  1. In a surprise to many, Senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin announces his campaign for President of the United States of America in his hometown of Janesville, Wisconsin. He speaks of his humble beginnings and union background, stating that he can be a true president of the people, the likes of which have not been seen since Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He makes sure to hit a populist tone.
  2. Feingold seeks the endorsement of fellow Wisconsin Senator Herb Kohl.
  3. Feingold holds his first event in Iowa, where he holds a rally in Des Moines. Here, he will spend his time criticizing rampant free trade, acknowledging the harm that agreements such as NAFTA have brought upon manufacturing workers and farmers in Iowa. Feingold emphasizes his want to stop outsourcing American jobs, and focus on American Made Products.

(5) While Feingold is popular in his home state he gets little to no media attention for his announcement, this won’t give him the boost he was hoping for.

(10) While Kohl has a lot of respect for his fellow Senator he states he wants to give it a little time before making a final decision.

(4) Feingold is protested by Republicans who are very much in favor of NAFTA and free trade as he is heckled throughout his speech.

overall: -4 Not a great start to Feingold’s campaign he will need to turn things around in a crowded progressive field.

1: Kucinich will kick off his campaign in the city he was once Mayor of Cleveland OH.

“My fellow Americans, over the past 8 years we have seen some of the greatest economic growth in human history, we have seen the cold war end and with it the threat of nuclear Armageddon and we have seen huge leaps forward in our education and children’s welfare programs. However, I am speaking to you today because there is so much more that needs to be done for the hard-working men and women of America that too many seem unable or unwilling to say. With the dawning of a new Millennium and a New Age in human history, we must look for new solutions and new leadership. The Democratic party must stand forward and boldly what it is we stand for. The Democratic party should not simply put their rubber stamp on the other party’s programs, that is not offering the American people a choice but merely an echo.  The Democratic party should not stand for trade deals that destroy our cities, our neighborhoods, and our Unions by shipping jobs overseas. The Democratic party should not stand for a healthcare system that sees people as customers, seeking to extract profit from the sick and vulnerable. The Democratic party should not stand for spending taxpayer money on foreign entanglements that have nothing to do with us.

It is for these reasons that I am announcing my intention to run for the Democratic nomination to be the next President of the United States. I aim to provide a voice for the voiceless, to fight with our hard-working Union Men and Women, and to offer bold new solutions for a new age.

Together we can build a better America.

2- After this Kucinich will attempt to win the endorsement of House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt, emphasising the need to build a strong anti-free trade atmosphere early on in the primary's as well as their similar views on healthcare and progressive taxation.

3-  Moving to Iowa the campaign will start off with some good old door knocking around Des Moines along with small events like volunteer breakfasts to get to know the local people and get some volunteers going.

Screenshot_590.png

(3) Kucinich’s rally gets minimal coverage and the ire of many within the Clinton administration. One anonymous official is quoted as saying “He’s public enemy #1 in the Democratic primary”

(15) Gephardt on the other hand was impressed with Kucinich and after a lengthy conversation has endorsed the Ohio congressman.

(2) Kucinich’s hopes are dashed when nobody shows up to these events. Many of the flyers actually putting the wrong date in an embarrassing fiasco.

overall: -3 Kucinich’s start was prevented from being disastrous due to the support of Minority Leader Gephardt. Kucinich may want to fire a certain staff member for the flyer fiasco.

John McCain Gives A Speech In Annapolis, Maryland, at the US Naval Academy, Announcing That He Is Running For President

Opinion | Maybe We Don’t Deserve John McCain - The New ...

I'm not one for long introductions, and I know how busy your lives must be, so I'll cut right to the chase. My fellow Americans, I'm here today to announce that I am running for President. I do not announce my candidacy to satisfy my personal ambitions. My life has already been blessed more than I deserve. I don't begin this mission with any sense of entitlement. America doesn't owe me anything. I owe a deep debt to this country; It is because I owe America more than she has ever owed me that I am a candidate for president to the United States.

My mother, and father instilled in me from a very young age the virtue of serving your country, not because it will benefit you, but because it is the right thing to do. However, these days far too many people, especially those in Washington, or on Wall Street, have decided to scorn America, in order to benefit themselves. This is a fight to take our government back from the power brokers and special interests and return it to the people and the noble cause of freedom it was created to serve. I have dedicated my life to serving America, and placing her long term interests, before my own. From when I fought for this country over the skies of Vietnam, to when I represented the good people of Arizona, first as a Representative, and now as a Senator, my entire life has been built on the principle of Country First, and that is the anchoring of this entire campaign. On my honor, I swear to you, that from my first day in office to the last breath I draw, I will do everything in my power to make you proud of your government

We, as Americans, must unite, and rise to face the challenge of reforming our broken political system. When our government has been taken from us by the special interests, the bid-dollar donors, pride is lost to shame. When our politics is corrupted by money and lies, trust is lost to cynicism. If we are to meet the challenges of our time, we must take the corrupting influence of special interest money out of politics. Restoring honesty to our political systems is the gateway through which all other policy reforms must pass.

This is a fight for the very tether-poles of our Democracy, and it is a fight that I cannot win alone. I ask for your support as we take our country back from the lobbyists, the bureaucrats, and the out of touch Washington establishment. I've spent my entire career fighting for what I know is right, regardless of what the establishment tells me is right. I will take this attitude all the way from Cornville to the White House, and I hope that you will give me your vote both in the primaries, and in November. Now let's get this campaign underway!"

McCain will head to Nashua, New Hampshire to talk about his plan to cut taxes.

"I will return our current surplus to you, the people. I will cut taxes, not for the special interests and the big-dollar donors, but for the working men and women of this country. I will end the marriage tax, halve the death tax, and double the child tax credit. I will close corporate loopholes, and I can guarantee, If elected president, I will not allow your Social Security money to be used for any purpose except Social Security, no ifs, ands or excuses."

McCain launches his first campaign ad of the 2000 primary season. It's a biographical ad detailing John's service in the US Naval Air Force, and his experience as a P.O.W. in North Vietnam. It will be broadcast in the early primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Michigan. Videocassettes will be given for free to libraries, and VFWs across the country, as well as to anyone who purchases one form McCain2000.com for the price of $20.

(11) McCain has a decent showing at his launch rally hoping to topple the Texas Governor and son of George HW Bush.

(3) McCain slips and twists his ankle in an embarrassing moment for the Maverick.

(1!) Oh what horror! However the hell it happened disaster struck. The triumphant ad that McCain had has been stolen and replaced by a video of Pete McCloskey smoking a joint and saying “fuck Richard Nixon” over and over. “God I shouldn’t have bought weed from John Ellis Bush.”

Overall : -5 The McCain camp took a huge dive after the McCloskey tapes which was late night comedy material for a week.

1. George Bush will announce his campaign for President in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Knowing his last name and early frontrunner status means he will start out with a big target on his back, he speaks of his own record of accomplishments as Governor of Texas and the unique brand of compassionate conservatism he intends to bring to the White House.

2. Governor Bush will seek the endorsement of Senator Chuck Grassley.

3. Bush's first campaign rally will be in Davenport, Iowa, and will focus on cutting the burdensome red tape of needless government regulations and the work he did as Governor of Texas to create an environment in which entrepreneurship could flourish and job creation could increase.

"This was an agenda that worked in Texas, and it will work in Iowa and it will work across the country if you vote Bush for President!"

(4) Bush’s rally is seen as lackluster by many and is mocked for his minor gaffes dubbed Bushisms.

(14) Grassley issues a statement of praise for Bush but stops short of an official endorsement yet.

(10) Bush seems more prepared this trip to Iowa.

Overall: -1 While Bush is still the obvious frontrunner the gaffes in his launch definitely hurt his initial standing.

Paul Wellstone will announce his campaign for the Presidency outside of his house in Northfield, Minnestoa. He says the following - "I'm Paul Wellstone, I'm running for President so I gotta talk fast! Higher minimum wage! Fix the welfare state! Get people healthcare! This is what I've fought for in the Senate and it's what I'll work for as President!"

Wellstone will leave to campaign in his signature green bus.

http://images.publicradio.org/content/2010/10/25/20101025_wellstonegreenbus_33.jpg

Wellstone will seek to capture the same electricity that won him two senate elections. He will set up a campaign website with a goal of collecting grassroots support and funding. He will set up volunteer bases across Iowa and New Hampshire.

Wellstone will seek the endorsement of fellow Senator and Iowa man Tom Harkin

(12) Wellstone’s launch goes over decently well better than most of his fellow progressives.

(12) Wellstone’s ground game is building slowly as he hopes to build a strong grassroots campaign for himself.

(2) Harkin refuses to endorse Wellstone citing him being too progressive for his liking.

overall: -2 Although the Harkin anti endorsement definitely hurt Wellstone having a decent ground game definitely helps his campaign.

1. Bill Weld announces his run at an event in Boston. He stresses the ideology of fiscal conservatism and social liberalism that led him to victory in Massachusetts and portrays it as the thinking America needs for a new twenty-first century! and he hopes it's an successful appeal to Republican voters across the country.

2. Weld probably won't do swell in Iowa, and will skip it in favour of New Hampshire where he believes his ideology could strike a cord with voters. He barnstorms the big cities of the state to get that momentum going.

3. Weld then barnstorms the rural areas hoping to appeal to them. He talks cutting taxes and giving back to the taxpayer. He also will try to get his social views across.

(6) Weld’s insistence on social liberal policies definitely receives some backlash among the social conservatives that dominate the party.

(19) Weld’s decision was well thought out, he holds massive rallies and makes people think the Rockefeller Republicans might not be extinct.

(17) Once again Weld hold a series of strong rallies in the state.

overall: +3 Weld starts out strong as he makes a name for himself in New Hampshire

1. Donald John Trump announces he's running inside of a public event within Trump Tower. He will praise progressivism and socialist economics, detailing his plans to create universal healthcare in his presidency.

2. Donald Trump will request the endorsement of Bruce Willis.

3. Donald Trump will start touring the nation, starting off with his home city of New York City, where he will declare himself "the best" at exploiting tax loopholes, and claims he will end these loopholes and make the rich pay their fair share.

(10) Trump’s strong populist appeal does well in the crowd but the media hardly takes his run too seriously.

(17) Bruce Willis endorsement of Trump is a shock to many as The Donald does a little dance at his rally.

(15) Middle Class Americans fall in line behind Trump’s tax loophole plan, forgetting that he admitted to being part of said corruption.

overall: +3 The media may not take Trump too seriously but the people sure do as Donald Trump holds the reform party banner.

1. Pat Buchanan will announce his third campaign for President at a rally in Des Moines, Iowa, declaring that he is running for President because of a "crisis at the border" where "jobs are flowing out as illegals are streaming in". He will promise to end illegal immigration at the southern border "by any means necessary" and bring back "American jobs for American workers" by withdrawing from NAFTA and taking on a deeply protectionist policy as President. Buchanan will also attack gay rights in his announcement speech, promising to fight for "traditional marriage" and take on the "gay agenda" as President. He will pose himself as the savior of "traditional American values" and the "traditional family", declaring that "liberal activists" seek to tear at the seams of the American family with proposals like civil unions. Buchanan will attack the "reverse discrimination" of affirmative action, racial quotas, and school busing programs, declaring that the "cultural elite" wish to see America value race over merit. To close his announcement, Buchanan will promise to be the "culture warrior standing up for America" and will challenge the "RINOs opposing me" to prove they'll "fight for real Americans like I'll do as President."

2. Buchanan will continue his campaign in Iowa, visiting rural areas to attack how, "Washington elites now value the rights of illegal foreigners in our country over the rights on law-abiding Americans." Buchanan will contemplate using the military to contain the "crisis on the border" and to "preserve our national sovereignty" against "foreign invaders".

3. Buchanan will hold a rally in Manchester, attacking the "liberal elite" for allowing manufacturing jobs to flow overseas under a "limp-wristed" trade policy. Buchanan will promise that he will defend American jobs from being stolen overseas as President.

(8) While Buchanan excites a portion of the party many in party leadership are terrified of the thought of a Buchanan nomination.

(9) Immigration isn’t the biggest issue but Buchanan’s comments upset pro immigration Republicans.

(13)Buchanan begins to hit his mark as his crowds begin to grow in size

overall: +1 Buchanan has a decent launch besting the current front runners Bush and McCain.

3.Nader will speak against nuclear energy and fossil fuels. He promises to transition from fossil fuels to renewables.

(20!) Naders announcement becomes all anyone can talk about with even Ross Perot being impressed. Democrats are in serious danger of losing the left wing if they aren’t careful if this trend continues.

(11) Howard Zinn doesn’t officially endorse yet but makes a few statements for Nader’s cause

(18) Nader will once again rally the American left in support of his agenda.

overall: +5 Ralph Nader poses a real threat to the two party system and is seen by many Democrats as a potential spoiler in the general election.

3.Sanders will seek an endorsement from GLAA focusing on his longtime support for LGBT rights

(14) Sanders’ launch is covered extensively by Phil Donahue as the Vermont congressman makes a name for himself.

(12) Labor unions are happy to hear the support of Bernie. Many of which wish to see a change from Clinton’s leadership.

(12) In response to Buchanan attacking the LGBT community many see Sanders as a great ally.

(11) Clinton shakes off the argument with Bill and has a decent meet and greet in Iowa

Emphasising both his respect for the senator's older brothers and the Senator's own record, promising to fight for his life goal of Universal healthcare.

2- Kucinich will make speeches around New Hampshire talking about how the Government has been wasting taxpayer money on foreign entanglements that have nothing to do with us  and how the way we have been intervening lately has been exaggerating humanitarian crises

3-  Kucinich will meet with local small and medium-sized business people in New Hampshire, stating how further free trade deals could seriously damage them in the long term by allowing competitors to flood the market with cheap goods and exploit cheaper labour pools than they can and as a result, they need to make a seriously anti free-trade atmosphere in the early days of the primarys by backing someone who will fight against it loudly (someone like Dennis Kucinich perhaps?)

McCain talks about the need for America to lead the free world in combatting terrorism, especially in the wake of tragedies such as the Oklahoma City Bombing, the Olympic Park Bombing, and the open endorsement of Anti-American groups like Al-Qaeda by countries like Afghanistan. He talks about how his military experience makes him eminently qualified to make decisions on National Security, and subtly attacks Bush for not serving in Vietnam. He does this in Manchester.

McCain, having suspicions that the stealing of his advertisement was politically motivated, will hire a private investigator to find out who was behind the videocassette caper. If the detective is successful in discovering the identity of the thief, McCain instructs the detective to steal the videocassette back, and leak the revelations to the press. 1. Buchanan will campaign in rural Iowa, pledging to end the "evil practice" of abortion at all costs as President. 2. Buchanan will continue his campaign in rural Iowa, barnstorming across the state as he unleashes his fury on the "Washington elite" for their failure to protect America's economic sovereignty, instead "hemorrhaging jobs" overseas so they and their donors can grow rich off globalization.
