Crazy Generated Politicians for 5/4

Recommended Posts

I can't seem to get a draft with more than two funny names at a time, unlike @MrPotatoTed. I wasted like 10 minutes trying to generate one to post in total. Here are the best names I got during this time:

  • Salem Golden-Showers
  • Charlotte Bisonbladder
  • Lazarus Dingleberry
  • Penny Flipper
  • Narcissa Black Hawk
  • Tumbleweed Walsh
  • Emeilia Heavengrave
  • Olivia Bunioneater
  • Whalesmith Abbott
  • Circe Quakebuttock
  • Patience Obama
  • Gina Whalelove
  • Amelia McBoring

Ah yes, Ambassador Dingleberry.

"Sir, your approval rating is in the toilet! You'll never come back from this scandal!"

"Never say never! I'll come out of this one alive and well after we flush out these leakers!"

Challenge accepted.

From the very first draft class I generated today:

LeBaron Burton
Asa Bible
Lucien Lord
John ]
Jane Bingbing
( @vcczar This is actually the second time I've seen the last name "]", I meant to flag it last time.)

@vcczar I figured out what was causing the ] last name and fixed it.

This happened to me too and I can't find where it is coming from. There is no surname that is a bracket.

What was it?

The generator itself (not the source material) accidentally got overwritten in that box.  So it wasn't pulling anything at all, it was always just a "]".

My guess is that I probably accidentally did that myself while looking at draft classes recently, meaning to hit enter and hitting that key instead.  Regardless, I've fixed it now.

Just so I get a general idea of what percent are weird names, how big is a generated draft class and how many classes are you pulling to make these lists?

Right now, the generator produces 20 male names and 20 female names every time you run it.  Keep in mind that we're only reporting the silly names here, and that Vcczar has specified that he's run the test multiple times with no silly names at all.

In the end, I suspect the generator will actually need to expand to stay on par with the "real world" draft lists -- which we'll need to calculate what the average real world draft class size is.  If I had to guess, I'd ballpark it at around 70 statesmen every four years.

Here's a full 40-person draft class that I've generated just now.  I've gone with the very first one, not reloading no matter how boring or insane it turns out to be:

James Bennett
Kenneth Barrichello
Lawrence Goff
Luca Clay
Melbourne Mickelson
Brainbridge Brin
Maximus Smith
Edward Stearns
Happy Beshear
Vincent Cruz
Earl Klutznick
John Fonda
James McCotter
Joe Martinez
Anthony Dempsey
Don Lunce
Mike Burnett
Desmond McBride
Jeremy Ransom
Woody Mason
Heather Clay
Ella Sweat
Christina Cox
Sophia Depew
Maryanne Taylor
Lauren Stewart
Dixy Rosendale
Patricia Garn
Shelly Niou
Jessica Quincy
Elizabeth Thruston
Frances Tallo
Elise Revercomb
Amber St. Laurent
Susan Stowe
Sarah Stuart
Patricia Kavanaugh
Sophia Cruz
Shanda Rhodes
Sophia Fields

Even as I was making the generator, I was thinking 1 man and 1 woman per state for each draft.

George Defecator? that's a name you can have in AMPU? Where did that come from?

There's a lot of random non-historical names. Some are meant to be funny. I got that idea from Madden NFL Football which has done the same for years. There's like a 1/3,000 chance of that being a last name though or something like that.

Maybe something for after early release or for people interested in modding new politicians into the game after release.

Here is a list with the youngest state legislators. I am definitely going to add most of them born from the mid-1980s onwards when the times come, to have more non-generated people for the future. The most crazy fact is that in NH one state rep was already born after 9/11.

Yeah, it's tempting, but I don't want to add anyone officially unless they officially run for an office that is in the game.

I mean, I've seen the name "Alan Bible," so it's not that crazy.
