Hestia
The January 6th Committee held its first hearing today. There was a number of videos that showed a great many things - cowardice and anger. Hate and disgust. The worst of us. But it also showed others - courage, strength, a fundamental belief in democracy. A great deal of videos, testimony, and statements were important to the hearings. Here are just some of them. https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/january-6-hearings-june-9/index.html All of these were said directly in testimony and video footage at the Jan. 6 committee hearing. You can refer back to any of those videos. Anyone can feel free to add any moments they felt were important - those were the ones that stuck out to me as new or important. Ivanka Trump also 'accepted' what Bill Barr said about the election not being stolen. The biggest thing for me was "Maybe Pence deserves it". Chairman Bennie Thompson and Vice Chair Liz Cheney led the hearing and featured Caroline Edwards, a Capitol Police officer wounded in the riot at the Capitol, and Nick Quested, who was embedded with the Proud Boys and was a documentarian. 1

pilight
My #1 takeaway from the hearings is that it really takes a lot of effort to make Mike Pence a sympathetic character
