Playing hands off now that they've done their first hotfix and I also downloaded a mod that helps give US some more specific flavor.

1833: US President Abraham Lincoln dies in office, in his early 30's.  Vice President Olivia Hopkins become our first female President of the United States.

Lincoln would be 24 in 1833. Also, doesn’t the game start in 1836?

I suppose I'll add my own conclusion of the game here. I made it pretty far into my USA game and had a good bit of fun. However it got boring after a while because I was simply too strong. I hope Paradox adds more flavor in the game and also attempts to make some things more realistic. By 1850 my country was overrun with a Socialist president despite me suppressing the interested groups associated with the Socialist Party & actively taking decisions to hinder their influence. People being too young to become President, women becoming President, it's silly honestly. Paradox has a lot of potential here but this could've been a better release. What do you expect these days though? Finished games aren't really a thing anymore. Currently it's a 6/10 for me. It can go to an 8 or 9 when patches and DLC comes out. But I'm probably not going to be playing it anymore for the time being due to the lack of content/burnout.

AI also needs to be severely re-worked. It's especially bad in expansion.

I let the game keep running while I slept.

I unfortunately can't post photos (I went way over the forum limit when I used to run the Founding Fathers game).

But it's 1956 (I assume the mod I use must have turned off the time limit on the game).

The US has managed to take most of the 48 states -- except parts of Montana and Maine are both Canada, as is an isolated slice of western Wyoming.

On the bright side, the US has taken Baja.

However, South Carolina, Texas, and Florida are a separate country that collectively calls itself "New Africa", with Tallahassee as their capital.  The dominant culture for the country is Afro-American -- so my best guess is that maybe it was a slave revolt that managed to take those three states and keep them as their own country.

Oh, and then there's Oklahoma.  Oklahoma is split up between TWO countries that both call themselves "Communist Cherokee" (One is a Republic, the other is a Council Republic), plus just normal Cherokee, and the United Syndicates of America.

Oh, that reminds me.  The US is "The United Syndicates of America", a Council Republic.  Led by Chairman Cleland Hunton, a Dixie Jingoist Trade Union Reckless Political Operator.

The United Syndicates is the 8th greatest country.  Number one goes to Great Britain, which is a Constitutional Empire ruled by "Emperor Charles of Austria-Este" the 91 year old Scotsman.

Is there a way for @MrPotatoTed to post unlimited images? @DakotaHale

@MrPotatoTed you and all other forum users now have unlimited attachment/messenger quota. Sorry for the inconvenience, had no idea there was an arbitrary limit.

Thanks!

December, 1959: The United Syndicates of America look a bit different from the real world -- Canada has some of Wyoming, while the USA has taken Baja from Mexico.  Oh, and there's that tri-state "New Africa" which my best guess is comes from a successful slave rebellion.

Oklahoma in particular is a hot mess, torn between the USA, "Communist Cherokee", a second "Communist Cherokee" which has it's own ruler and government system, and then just plain "Cherokee."

After co-existing peacefully for a decade or two, the two Communist Cherokees are now at war, attempting to annex one another.

Africa is mostly split between France and England, with Portugal and the USA (in the center, creeping toward the Congo, in the mix.

Kudos to Russia, who is looking pretty thin these days.  Tell us your weight loss secrets, Russia!

Finally, we have Europe -- featuring three Spains and an independent Galicia.

The Scottish Emperor of Great Britain is now 96 years old.

And in the 1960 election, the United Syndicates of America have just elected an anarchist.  Fun!

I've been playing as Zulu in South Africa. I'm in the year 1841 and I've managed to go from the 187th economy to 160th. I've boosted the intelligentsia, which was marginalized, and I've brought them into the government. Abolished serfdom. My only industries were livestock, but after awhile I was able to create a bunch of other industries. My goal is to become a recognized power.

I'm ranked about #35 as Zulu in 1860. I have the 21st or 22nd highest literacy rate in the world. However, I'm an unrecognized power and can't seem to get recognized. No wars. I keep maintaining good relations with everyone. I mostly import from US, UK, and France. I export mostly to other African countries.

I'm in 1870 as Zulu and was #15th in the world, despite still being unrecognized. I went to war with the US to force recognition, but I lost when the US, who never invaded me sought peace. They were going to offer me recognition, but I could figure out how to accept it. I was shown "decline" or "capitulate." I "capitulated" thinking that meant "accept." It just ended the war with no benefit for anyone. Now I'm like #29th in the world. I invaded a nearby small African nation because I can't get enough imports to keep my modern industries running. I got a feeling Zulu is about to collapse in power.

Interestingly, Zulu's top two minority groups are "African-Americans" and "Bulgarians." Zulu's are now only 60% of Zulu population. We're #10 in world literacy. Our military is awful but better than our neighbors. We don't have enough convoys for trade anymore. I was in the British Custom Union that gave a ton of benefits, but I was kicked out for some reason.
