SilentLiberty
After getting re-elected in 2020, the senator will resign by the end of the year to go and be the president of University of Florida. This will allow the out going governor Pete Ricketts to appoint someone to the seat. He could even appoint himself to the senate seat, he has previously ran for the senate albeit unsuccessfully. https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/06/politics/ben-sasse-resigning-senate/index.html Edited October 7, 2022 by SilentLiberty
jvikings1
Sasse isn't resigning until the end of the year, so the next governor will appoint the successor (still good chance it is Ricketts though).
