Patine was there in 2012. I want to say there is one other person from about that time, but I'm not sure. There were some guys, like VanMav who I really liked talking to. Yeah, I'd say about 2014 was when I was getting addicted to being on the old forum then. Because I think that's when a lot of other people joined. I should add that while I didn't join the forum until 2012, I occasionally read things on the forum in 2011, as I had the game. I think what got me to jump on the forum was that I thought the game was really biased in favor of Romney. His charisma and debate was too high. He won 8/10 simulations I ran. I think I've gotten a lot less patient, but that has more to do with not having a lot of free time. I post a lot but it's in between other things that I should be doing, so I'm always posting with a gun to my head basically. Pringles Posted October 17, 2022 Share Posted October 17, 2022 Just took this recently. I'd say it's a pretty accurate placement. I'd place myself maybe one or two notches above the social line. I started getting into political stuff around say, 2014. I was a wee lad on the internet and was mostly influenced by whoever my friends were/people who I looked up to lol. Here's a rough path of my journey. 2014: I don't really know much as a kid, but I remember being pretty up there. 2015: I start paying attention to the 2015-2016 primaries, I get exposed to the internet too much and it happened some of my online friends were "socialists" and "bernie bros," so I uh, tagged along with them. 2016: I'm just being a populist. I was for Trump in 2016 as cringe as it seems of me today. 2017: I start getting more authoritarian and more conservative social views back under Trump, I think he's funny, I like him, etc. etc. etc. I'm still just a young teenager here lol. 2018: This is where I find my love for Harry Truman. I styled myself as something of a conservative socially, left economically person... still support Trump. 2019: After returning from my travels in Eastern Europe, and growing as a person in general I begin giving my beliefs a closer look, and thinking for myself more lmao. 2020: By now I'm done with Trump. Renounce him and I remember getting so mad at something I considered becoming a full on Democrat. By the time I joined the forum in late 2020 I really just considered myself an anti-trump moderate. But since I've been here I've always considered myself a Republican. I used to not like Romney and "RINOs." But I fit the bill of that proudly today. 2021: I begin to solidify in this area pretty much. COVID shifts me some, I continue moving to the right on economic issues as I see the results of what the pandemic has done to the country, but again, going to the very poor areas of Eastern Europe really sparked this change in me tbh, which started back in 2018. 2022 Onward: I took the test above but I'd place myself roughly where I put it on the custom compass. I don't really see myself changing too much anymore. I'm set in my ways as an Anti-Trump Conservative. A Republican of better days... whether it be Reagan, HW Bush, Nixon, Eisenhower, Ford, Bush. I'm still pretty moderate on a multitude of issues though, at least relative to today perhaps. Don't confuse the right wing economics with me opposing an infrastructure bill or something.
