0ccultist
Conciliatory Resolution Word has spread that the British Parliament has issues a Concilliatory Resolution to the various colonial governments in an effort to resolve the crisis. However, they bypassed our Continental Congress, believing it to be an illegal government institution. Clearly, they wish to divide the colonies, but the British government does wish to relax some of the taxation we bear in exchange for our loyalty. CC President Pickney picks (A) This is pittance for the amount of blood that's been shed. Reject it Watt's Steam Engine Scottish-inventor James Watt's Steam Engine has become a central piece to the Industrial Revolution, which is likely to spread to our shores Dunmore's Proclamation The Earl of Dunmore, Royal Governor of Virginia has proclaimed martial law and announced freedom for any slave that joins the royal army. Other colonies led by royal governors in the the slave states may follow suit. CC President Pickey pick (B) We are united in a common war against the British; we should unite with the slave states in encouraging free states to execute runaway slaves. Points: Conservatives, Traditionalists, RW Activists; Loss: Civil Rights, LW Activists Proclamation of Rebellion King George III has announced a formal rebellion within his Empire. Royal officials are ordered to rebuff the rebellion and to punish those involved in partaking in the rebellion. CC President Pickney picks (B): We need to walk a fine line here. Let's maintain our loyalty to the King, but argue that Parliament has no authority over the colonies. Gain: Moderates, Liberals, Conservatives Republic of Vermont proclaimed A convention of local leaders in a disputed territory between New York and New Hampshire has declared independence as the Republic of Vermont! They likely won't sustain their independence as the British, or perhaps even New York, will annex them. CC President Pickney picks (A) We need to acquire them at some point. Gain: LW Populists and RW Populists; Loss: Expansionists, Gov of NY
