Otis sends some of his best orators to the state of Connecticut to stump for him.

Otis newspapers will respond to the slanderous lies of the Gansevoort campaign by writing detailed stories of Otis's heroism during the revolutionary war as a major in the 1st New Hampshire regiment, with a particular fondness for his valor during the Battle of Bennington.

Otis writes to the Massachusetts Mercury trying to get their support once again. This time he emphasizes the fact that he is a bipartisan moderate, while both Gansevoort, and Blumenau are both partisan hacks who would tear apart the young country, and rip up the Bill of Rights.

Connecticut: 2. The 'best' orators seem to actually be some of the worst on the Otis campaign and send him backsliding in the state.

Newspapers: 10. The ideals are vastly popular, and are a good rebut to the Gansevoort campaign.

Mercury: 6. Mercury reporters aren't the most moderate, but it does help compared to some of the others that have spoken to them.

3. Gansevoort’s family will take a prominent spotlight in New York City where he presides. His wife Kathleen will easily dispel any rumors of a marital affair, lest of all with a black slave when the family does not even own slaves. (Boost - Integrity)

Roundup

Turn 6 style 😏

Papers inch towards endorsements, with the Massachusetts magazine the more competitive of the two. The main story is the lack of progress with the Alexandria Times, which has Walton plodding along, but not quite to an endorsement yet. Alexander Carroll struggled once again this week, erasing some gains he made a few weeks ago. The main story the past few weeks is the trickling of newspaper endorsements of Sen. Walton, which has let him coast to a degree over his opposition, that is scattered and fighting for New England scraps. Tristan Blumenau has also ran a compelling campaign the last few weeks, offering a divergent Federalist idea set from his fellow Federalist Gansevoort.

image.thumb.png.d83556792efa7edd9797639f3aa3bb8f.png

There has been no changes on the map-scale, but there have been some beneath the surface.

John Walton (D-R from Georgia) - 24.1% (+0.6%)

Artemis Gansevoort (Federalist from New York)- 19.1% (-0.7%)

James Otis (D-R from New Hampshire) - 17.4% (-0.3%)

Tristan Blumenau (Federalist from New Hampshire) - 15.0% (+0.5%)

Alexander Carroll (Independent from Virginia) - 10.0% (0)

John Hooker (American from Tennessee) - 5.0% (-0.7%)

Douglas Rider (Liberty from Pennsylvania) - 4.6% (+0.3%)

Oliver Wilson (Liberty from New Jersey) - 2.1% (-0.3%)

There has been some changing with our papers

Alexandria Times

Walton - 47
Gansevoort - 39
Carroll - 35
Otis - 22
Hooker - 18
Blumenau - 12
Rider - 7
Wilson - 4

Massachusetts Mercury

Rider - 41
Blumenau - 40
Otis - 32
Gansevoort - 31
Wilson - 20
Carroll - 15
Hooker - 12
Walton - 7

Just one more polling update before our election (update is on turn 9, election is turn 10). I hope to make election cycles a bit quicker in the future, just as a note, but if anyone has ideas on how to do that let me know, because it may require some more thinking than I was imagining in the beginning 🙂 Anyway, turn 7 starts right now!

 Roundup: End of Turn 7

This week was a largely good week for many of our candidates: especially frontrunner Walton, Sen. Blumenau, and Secretary Gansevoort. It seems like any good week for Gov. Walton means that it is a poor week for others, but some candidates are beginning to climb back in the race in a few of the pivotal battleground areas: Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. A few candidates are beginning to do well in different areas, making the end result a bit more in doubt than it was a few weeks ago. However, the endorsement of the Alexandria Times to Walton put Virginia farther and farther out of reach than it was even the week before.

Alexandria Times

Walton - 54
Gansevoort - 39
Carroll - 35
Otis - 22
Hooker - 18
Blumenau - 12
Rider - 7
Wilson - 4

Massachusetts Mercury still has some left

Rider - 49
Blumenau - 47
Otis - 32
Gansevoort - 31
Wilson - 20
Carroll - 15
Hooker - 12
Walton - 7

Thank you all for your effort, this is a little bit of a slow turn for me as far as updates, so thank you all and have a good turn 8! 🙂
