CE2's 1800 announcement thread

Fellow RPers.

It's 1800. President Boone @Patine has served for another 4 years, his second consecutive term. Domestically it was an awful term unfortunately (8/100). But he had some successes in foreign affairs (77/100).

None of Boone's secretaries was replaced but likewise the possibility to shape the court was again not given for the frontiersman-turned-politician. All of Washington's justices remained on the bench. For the next election all eyes are on Associate Justice Samuel Adams who is said to be in declining health. We are wishing the best, but make up your mind about the choice if Associate Justice Adams's service will not be prolonged.

President and Boone and Vice President Jefferson @Pringles are eligible to run again, but will they do?

Will there be new challengers on the horizon?

Vice President Jefferson announces that this will be his last time running with the intention to win. After serving 3 terms as Vice President, he knows this is his final chance. He wishes President Boone a hearty farewell, but states to the American people, there is much work to be done. The Domestic failures must be addressed as we expand Westward, and we must protect our brave Americans venturing to the West. He expresses his utmost appreciation in the American people for having faith in him as their Vice President.

George Clinton announces his candidacy for President or Vice President, whichever the voters decide. He praises Jefferson’s service and hopes to work alongside him to achieve four more years of Democratic Republican governance.

Abigail Adams announces she will run for president again. She declares she will abolish slavery wholesale, and will give women the right to vote in every state. Adams promises to be the most progressive candidate in the election 1000%. She also tries extra hard to get the abolition party to run people for congress in the house and senate, so abolitionists can finally fight the radical slave owners and their plans to spread slavery and racism.

John Adams will announce his candidacy for President, rejecting Hamilton's new bid as a "Sad venture by a washed-up lunatic with nothing better to do." He will run on moving away from the ruffian attitudes which brought so much suffering to the nation under Boone's Presidency, and will promise to fight for industrialization, greater tariffs, a strengthened Federal government, and a realignment of the political scene "away from the lowest common denominator who individuals like Boone represent and who Jefferson appeals to". He will also call for the nation to move closer to stable nations like Britain, rejecting the chaos and anarchy of the French. He will make no comment on the fact that he is opposing his own wife.

Abigail Adams will privately demand that John Adams retract his candidacy so she can run a campaign with federalist support. Otherwise she will divorce John Adams and say he had an affair with a slave.

George Clinton will laugh with his fellow Democratic Republicans at the implosion of the Federalist Party. A negro loving woman, a crooked washed up politician, and a hermaphroditic elitist? What a sick joke of a party. This election ought to be a breeze for Thomas Jefferson, the common sense choice in this election.
