Can make a vie for an Empire, can lead a simple warband as a lord or a mercenary, can go solo and fight in tournaments, could even be a lone soldier in an army formation if you wanted. As someone with 2600 hours on Warband it was a huge disappointment to me. The campaign is very good though.
