Looking for Players: Founding Fathers

Hi folks!  For those who were around in the 270soft days, they may have seen me frequently playing a board game @vcczar introduced me to, Founding Fathers, on the forum.  While these playthroughs were usually restricted to just my real-life friends, I thought I'd open it up to all of you who might be interested.  I can support 3-6 players.  

What I'll need from you:

1) A way to contact you directly, outside of this forum.  Either texting (for Americans) or messaging you on Gmail usually works best.  I use this to notify you when it's your turn to act.

2) A commitment that you'll make your move within 24 hours of being notified that it's your turn.  Moves usually aren't complicated or requiring of a lot of analysis -- often, it will be voting aye or nay on a simple proposal, or accepting/declining an offer to be Secretary of the Whatever.

3)  A willingness to learn the rules.  I'm happy to explain them, for the first couple rounds, but I do expect that you'll take the effort to actually read the rules -- you don't have to memorize them, but at least read through them so that you can recall "Wait, I saw a rule about that" and go back to reference it as needed.  I'll hold you hand for the first Presidential term or two, but after that, I'm just here to answer questions.

I don't require that people actually roleplay as their characters, but they're certainly welcome to.  

This game is a lot of fun, requires a lot of strategy and negotiation, and can even teach you a bit about American history.  I hope you'll join me!

I recall this back on the old forum that we had right after leaving 270soft. 

I tuned in at times and was always interested. As much of a staunch anti-federalist and Democratic Republican I am I think this'll be pretty fun. 

So count me in. I'll be going on vacation soon throughout the summer but I've got a laptop and am always available at sometime during the day. 😄

I'd be willing to play as well! 🙂 I remember playing once quite a while ago, but have forgotten most unfortunately. Like Pringle, I have a vacation coming up in July, but I should have my laptop with me to make a move once a day.

That's going to be a separate thing.  I'll text you about that.  But this particular game will be played on the forum in the traditional manner.

Thanks!  I'm actually at six players right now which is the limit (including @Magnus Rex who messaged me his interest outside of this thread) -- but let me circle back to @ConservativeElector2whose interest seemed more tentative than the rest.  Conservative, happy to have you if you want to play, just wanted to confirm before I put Cal on the waiting list.

If you get a ton of players you could adapt the game where every player plays one or two politicians at a time.
