Yup, pretty clear. Freedom of "my preferred religion" is not, in fact, freedom of religion.

A fairly common position amongst modern political thought. People who adhere to a more left-wing ideology tend to be more anti-Christian while those towards the right tend to be more anti-Muslim. In both cases, this tends to lead to support for legislation/government actions which infringe upon the religious beliefs of those groups.

This does help explain the sentiments towards Muslims because, from a purely ideological lens, right wing (specifically socially right wing) ideologies should have more in-common with the typical Muslim voter than socially liberal ideologies. But fear is a powerful tool that has especially been used post-9/11
