  1. 1. Will you officially partake in this Presidential Election Class?

    • Yes. If Yes above, then I will link you to a group chat for this class for updates on "fun" related assignments and other things, such as the course documents.
    • No. If no, then you can still comment on things, but you won't be linked to documents and the group chat.

I got the first "lecture" planned out now. I just need to record it. I'll do that sometime after I get 12 commitments in this poll. Hopefully, I can record it on Tuesday.

I did 4 takes of the first lecture. I hate my voice. The 5th take will hopefully be the last one, but I won't do that until I'm ready to release it. This first video is going to be something like 35 minutes and I want to reduce them to 10 minutes, so I gotta reorganize it.

So I've record the first "lecture" at 16 minutes. It is 433 MBs and this forum seems to only allow videos that are 48 MB to be posted. As such, I'm trying to figure out a solution for handling this. Any advice would be great. My backup option is just typing everything out, but then this is just going to be a lot slower.

I've created videos for the 1788 and 1792 elections. I'm going to go through these pre-1856 elections kind of briefly. I'll go more in depth in 1856 and afterwards.

The first video is about 15 minutes and the second video is about 10 minutes. I aim for 10 minutes, but I think most of these will probably end up being 15 minutes. Some of those after 1856 might be longer.

I may re-record the videos I made yesterday. I keep thinking of things I should have said but didn’t. Both videos were made without using notes, which probably explains much of it. I’ve never liked using notes because I sound more robotic when I do use notes. I can’t think of the last time I’ve used notes when teaching. I’ll sometimes have a list of words just to remember topics I need to cover but that’s it.

Post YouTube under "unlisted" (meaning only people with the link can view; it won't show up on YouTube) and embed here.
