Timur
White Supremacists 1.George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were slave owners, but they may have been pretty average for their time. 2.I don't know. Madison was a slave owner, but he ordered that his slaves be treated humanely. He was said to be open minded about race as well. 3.Buchanan was said to "buy" slaves and then free them in the North. However, his policies were pretty bad so... 4.I doubt there were many people ahead of Lincoln in that time. 5.I really disagree with Warren Harding being put in here. 6.Why is Truman in here? Institutional Racists 1.From what I understand, JQ Adams was anti-slavery. Neutral 1.Was the Chinese Exclusion Act counted when Arthur was put in here? I would put him in the middle. 2.Obama is neutral? Ambivalent 1.I still have a better opinion of Hayes. 2.Reagan's record might be worse than this. 3.Then why did African-Americans like Clinton so much? Anti-Racist 1.LBJ: https://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/lyndon-johnson-civil-rights-racism-msna305591 Also, the claim that he used to be a Klansman in the 1930s. 2.Wait, I thought Nixon was considered in-the-middle. Timur
Just now, Patine said: Jefferson and Madison, to be fair, were big patrons of the Liberia project. And the Liberia project was done with good (though, mistaken) intentions, from what I understand. Edited July 6, 2021 by Timur

Maybe not, but anti-slavery people still thought it was a good idea.
