John A Bingham (PA-R) is hard to classify. He's often considered a Radical Republican because he was pro-impeachment, and he framed the 14th Amendment. He also wanted to abolish the SC. But he was also a Republican that worked hard to restrain the radicals. Grant gave him a happy exile in Japan.
