He was the Speaker of the House for the Confederacy for almost its entire history. His actions: Bocock, Thomas S 1856 Praises Brooks caning of Sumner Bocock, Thomas S 1860 Initial frontrunner for Speaker, but support collapses by ballot 44 Bocock, Thomas S 1861 joins the Confederacy, where he'll serve as Speaker of the CSA House from 1862-1865 Bocock, Thomas S 1867 Helped form the Conservative Party of Virginia to compete with Reconstr Republicans in the state Bocock, Thomas S 1877 becomes one of the architects of Jim Crow Laws when serving in the VA state legislature Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
