Sen. Cory Booker (NJ-D) first gained recognition as mayor of Newark, when he was living in public housing while in office. He also apparently saved a woman from a burning house while as mayor. His service as US Senator has been less interesting.

His actions:

Booker, Cory 2013 First black US Sen in NJ history
Booker, Cory 2013 Cosponsors Employment Non-Discrimination Act
Booker, Cory 2013 Cosponsor on bill to toughen sanctions against Iran
Booker, Cory 2014 Cosponsors Respect for Marriage Act
Booker, Cory 2016 Considered for VP by Clinton
Booker, Cory 2017 Takes a lead role pushing for bipartisan criminal justice reform
Booker, Cory 2018 Cosponsors bipartisan bill to limit Trump's ability to fire Mueller during Mueller Investigation
Booker, Cory 2018 Major roll in bipartisan criminal justice bill (First Step Act)
Booker, Cory 2019 Introduces Marijuana Justice Act
Booker, Cory 2020 Pres cand
Booker, Cory 2021 Calls for the 25th Amendment to be used to remove Trump from office after Jan 6th

Booker was someone I used to get excited for as a Pres candidate, back when he was able to run more on "wow, isn't he such a nice guy".  I mean, I still think he's a nice guy, and not all that bad, but he is kind of... generic... these days...

I think the issue with him is that he's not a very emotive person by nature, as some politicians aren't (think Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, and Ron DeSantis), so they can come off as kind of fake. I think Booker has more of a cool factor than those mentioned, but he seems to be best in casual conversation and not during debates.

There's also the factor that plays with some dems that they're "nerds".  He definitely has that too, but not as bad as soon.  Gore has the nerd factor.  Clinton has the nerd factor, but is also offset by other factors.  Dems do the best when they can power past that nerd factor somehow, such as with Bill Clinton or Obama.
