Edward R Burke (NE-D) was a conservative who became out of place in the Democratic Party. His fight against FDR cost him reelection in 1940. It seems he never left the Dem party, but he backs GOP members in 1940.

His actions:

Burke, Edward R 1935 Opposes 2nd New Deal legis, after having supports the 1st New Deal
Burke, Edward R 1937 Breaks w/ FDR on court packing
Burke, Edward R 1937 agrees to back Conservative Manifesto
Burke, Edward R 1940 Burke-Wadsworth bill for peacetime draft
Burke, Edward R 1940 Objects to FDR 3rd term run and supports Wilkie for pres
