vcczar
Rep. Barber Conable (NY-R) appears to be a strong fiscal conservative, comparable to Jack Kemp, also a NY Republican. Conable was known for high integrity, respected by both parties. He wouldn't accept campaign donations larger than $50, which is an admirable trait. His actions: Conable, Barber 1974 Nixon ally who breaks w/ him during Watergate scandal, coins the term "smoking gun" regarding WH tapes Conable, Barber 1978 Major role in Revenue Act of 1978, which added a part for 401K in the tax code Conable, Barber 1981 alarmed at new govt deficits Conable, Barber 1983 member of Social Security Commission Conable, Barber 1986 Appt Pres of the World Bank by Reagan
vcczar
I'm sure I'd disagree with Conable a lot, but I vote him favorable for his integrity.
