vcczar
Gov. Howard Dean of VT is best known for two things: Being the frontrunner in the Dem 2004 primary and for the "Dean Scream." The 2004 presidential election was the first election I watched closely, watching all of the debates and such. It's funny how one changes. At the time, I favored Dennis Kucinich and (because he was funny) Al Sharpton. Howard Dean came off as too angry to me. The rest were kind of boring. As you can see, in 2004 I was focusing more on personality than substance. Were I the age I am now in 2004, I'd probably still like Kucinich (2004 Kucinich) but I think Dean would be my choice of realistic candidates. His actions: Dean, Howard 2003 Denounces Gov of Iraq while as Gov of VT; vocal critic gains him national attention Dean, Howard 2004 Dem pres cand; initial frontrunner until Dean Scream Dean, Howard 2006 His 50-state strategy sees Dems take control of both Houses of Congress, while serving as chair of DNC Dean, Howard 2009 Support for Sec of Health but Obama declines to nominate him Dean, Howard 2016 Considers but declines running for pres, supporting Clinton over fellow VTer Sanders
OrangeP47
I can't believe wikipedia actually calls that moment "I have a Scream" after the MLK speech.
