Chris Dodd (CT-D) started out as a one of the new post-Watergate liberals but quickly became establishment, or perhaps the Watergate-era liberals became the establishment. His crowning achievement is Dodd-Frank, which some argue helps Obama get us out of the Great Recession and helped lead to the economic boom that began with Obama and ended w/ Trump (via COVID Pandemic).

His actions:

Dodd, Chris 1974 One of the new liberals that win election to US Sen b/c of Watergate
Dodd, Chris 1983 opposes admins Central America policy
Dodd, Chris 1993 Authors Family and Medical Leave Act
Dodd, Chris 2004 Declines to run for pres, backing fellow CT Sen Lieberman's run; considered by Kerry for VP on ticket
Dodd, Chris 2007 Influential Senate Banking Committee Chair. Served as Dodd-Frank was passed and during early Great Recession
Dodd, Chris 2008 Pres cand for Dems; endorses Obama over Clinton
Dodd, Chris 2009 Early US Senator to support gay marriage, despite opposing it during 2008 pres campaign
Dodd, Chris 2009 Authors Credit Card Act
Dodd, Chris 2010 Role in Dodd-Frank
Dodd, Chris 2010 Declines to run for reelection, mainly because of a series of minor financial scandals emerging
Dodd, Chris 2020 Argues for Karen Bass as VP over Kamala Harris as part of Biden's VP search committee
Dodd, Chris 2020 Included in the MeToo Scandal over alleged 1985 sexual assaulting of a waitress, but w/ Ted Kennedy instigating it

Isn’t his dad the one that was expelled from the Senate? Or resigned? I’m remembering him from the old 1968 RP I took part in.
