FB Kellogg (MN-R) won the Nobel Prize for co-authoring the Kellogg-Briand Pact, which was an agreement of nations--including Germany--to outlaw war as a tool for diplomatic disputes. At the time, it was believed that the Coolidge Administration might have scored a huge success in averting another World War, possibly any future war at all. Boy, were they wrong.

The most interesting thing about Kellogg is that he had practically no formal schooling, but that didn't stop him from becoming one of the most successful US lawyers before becoming a politician and a judge. He was one of the only GOPers during his time that was an internationalist/globalist.

His actions:

Kellogg, Frank B 1911 Gains national attention as prosecuting lawyer in case involving Standard Oil
Kellogg, Frank B 1919 a mild reservationist on League
Kellogg, Frank B 1919 One of the only GOPers to back Versailles Treaty, possibly costing him reelection in 1922
Kellogg, Frank B 1921 defends TR's role on Panama
Kellogg, Frank B 1924 Appointed Amb to UK by Coolidge
Kellogg, Frank B 1925 Confirmed Sec of State for Coolidge
Kellogg, Frank B 1928 Negotiates Kellogg-Briand Pact to "outlaw war"
Kellogg, Frank B 1929 Wins Nobel Peace Prize for Kellogg-Briand Pact
Kellogg, Frank B 1930 Made Assoc Justice of the Permanent Court of International Justice, despite lacking a high school diploma

He certainly gets points for effort

Yeah, I endorse the pacifism of Kellogg-Briand but it completely ignored fascist Italy and growing fascism elsewhere. It lacked foresight.
