Nobody received a majority of the vote in the election of 1824, so the house and senate must now select a president and Vice President from the top three finishers. If a Vice President receives a majority and a president doesn’t, the Vice President will be acting president for the remainder of the term. If a president receives a majority but a Vice President doesn’t, the Vice Presidency will remain vacant for the term. If the President then dies, the office will go to the historical speaker of the house. If neither receives a majority another ballot will be held. Let’s hope none of that happens though. Good luck!

Looks like we might have President Van Buren.

Taney is doomed. It's now a question whether Randolph supporters will back Jackson or Clay.

I think it will be an even split, meaning that Jackson will likely be President with VP Van Buren. Funny, history repeats itself.
