President Andrew Jackson’s first term was a mixed bag, but overall his popularity remains strong with those still allowed to vote. The Democratic Party has become to form around Jacksonian pro-slavery anti-women politicians, while east coast liberals and federalists have formed a national Republican Party to oppose the current government. The Supreme Court has held the slave trade unconstitutional in a very close ruling, but the bans on women and minorities from political participation remains very strong. Who will win? Let’s find out!

[announce your candidates and preferred party (Democrat and National Republican are the two main ones). If you plan to form a new party you must get two other people to endorse it. If you plan to run independent you need two other people to endorse you. To avoid a continent election the current threshold is 40%. Also, due to Jackson’s laws any player who runs as a women or non-white character will not have their votes counted in any primaries.]

John Randolph will announce a run for President under a new party called, The American Party, calling for a return to the ideals of Jefferson, Paine, and the constitution. Van Buren blasts the Democrats, saying that Jackson has abandoned Jeffersonian ideals in favor of tyrannical reactionism, and has exploded the role of government in his term.

Thurlow Weed will run for the nomination of National Republican Party. He calls for Freemasonry to be banned and Freemasons to be investigated. He calls Freemasonry "the greatest threat to our present republic," blames Freemasons for the death of William Morgan, ties them to the Illuminati, and accuses them of giving each other dirty favors and perverting the justice. He says he will not support Clay or Jackson, calling them a threat to America. He says that if Freemasons win the nomination of both parties, he will run as the nominee of the Anti-Masonic Party, but he hopes he'll get enough support (endorsements) to be able to run.

Van Buren endorses the President he first served under. He will campaign extensively for the American Party

EDIT: Thurlow Weed only announced his candidacy. If enough people endorse the Anti-Masonic Party, he will run under their banner. If not, he will run for the nomination of the National Republican Party.

President Jackson laughs at all of the attempts to stop his Democratic movement. Calling Former President Randolph a true traitor to the ideals of small government, expanded voting rights to poor white farmers, and a hell of a lot more.

"This Former President Randolph never had a problem with me until I ran for President. Now he's pissed his pants. Theres a reason why he lost the 2nd round! I'm confident 1% Randolph wont get very far."

Smith Thompson will remain more diplomatic than President Jackson. But as the first Chairman of the Democratic Party, he will play ruthless politics behind the scenes to re-elect Jackson.

His public image remains a committed and principled conservative jurist.

President Jackson will prepare a new strategy for the upcoming election. The base is clearly content, and while Jackson may lack any hope on appealing to the other side or a good many swing voters...

He will begin a strategy of playing into the fears of Native American attacks on western settlers.

Jackson also plays into the fears of this National Republican Party trying to nominate another woman and handing out "phony rights" to the "black sheeps" of society.

George Jones, a key Jacksonian and founding member of the Democratic Party, again announces his support for Jackson, as well as the fact that he will retire from politics after serving as Secretary of State one last time during Jackson's 2nd term.

Former President Monroe will announce a third run for the presidency under the National Republican ticket (mainly as a vehicle for his moderate vision). He says that he hopes to transition the country back to a more stable place and footing compared to what Jackson has done.

Thaddeus Stevens announces his campaign for the National Republican primary as a staunch abolitionist. His campaign pledges to end slavery in its totality, and uses the campaign slogan “Abolition now, Abolition tomorrow, Abolition forever!”.

(With that the announcements have closed. Primaries very soon people!)
