Trust in the Media: 6/10 The Knox-Borg interviews increase public confidence in the Gotham Gazette slightly.

Safety: 2/10 Though its early, the presence of Batman has already made a noticeable impact on crime in Gotham. For the first time in a while, criminals have something to fear, and though its still unclear just what they fear (theories range from it being a government super soldier, to it being a demon from hell, to the Batman secretly being Superman pulling a double shift) the Batman is already a thing of myths, and legends among the criminal populace of Gotham

Economic Growth: 6/10 The return of Bruce Wayne to a leading role in Wayne Enterprises is seen as fueling a moderate increase in economic growth.

Quality of Life: 3/10 Nothing much changes.

Unrest: 11/20 Batman has sparked a small spark of hope within the ossified populace of Gotham. It's early, but for the first time in a generation, there exists among Gothamites that maybe, just maybe, there's hope for Gotham yet.

Budget: 3/10 Hill's police funding bill cripples an already weak city budget. Hey, at least the bankers are happy to loan to the city... for now.

Corruption: 2/10 One step forwards, two steps back, just like it always is in Gotham. Dent is trying his best to stem the tide, but one man can't win against a corrupt establishment alone.

Knight-Playboy: 38/100 After eighteen long, grueling years of preparation, Bruce Wayne has finally begun his crusade against crime in Gotham. Already, the back alleys, and seedy enterprises of Gotham's underworld whisper in fear about a giant, nigh unkillable Bat who exacts righteous vengeance on any Gotham evildoer. On patrol, the Batman can smell the fear of his enemies, and it is sweet.

1. Playboy Bruce Wayne appears for an interview with Vicki Vale @Rezi. Answering any specific questions she may ask... and also mentioning his company's plans to ensure the security and prosperity of Gotham.

2. @Kitten Bruce Wayne, invites Harvey Dent to his penthouse birthday party. Telling him it might be a good opportunity to get cozy with those who have the means of ensuring he wins his election. Wayne, half drunk, jumps into a tone of seriousness and as the cameras roll to capture this lavish affair, Wayne says, "I believe in Harvey Dent."

"I think with a man like Dent Gotham can feel a little safer, a little more prosperous, and overall; a little better. Let's toast to the man of the hour!"

After that, Wayne would go right back to playing with those two European models...

3. Wayne heads to the bat cave as he prepares to head out for the night. He finally decides it might be time to test out the batmobile. He hopes to take on the new waves of attacks on small businesses and patrol the streets.

4. Batman heads out to find Mario Falcone, as the next man of the Falcone Crime Family to put behind bars. As he progresses towards Carmine.

5. The Batman leaves a calling card for Jim Gordon, on top of the Gotham City Police Department Bulding. An envelope with a metallic bat symbol, left on top of the spotlight. Along with dossiers of any *insert useful information.* @Dobs

Why should I? You’re right! 😛

(Nolanverse Batmobile is a close second in my opinion though, even if I didn’t really like the trilogy as a whole)

1. Jim Gordon opens the letter from Batman to find a tape from the office of Gillian Loeb, apparently burgled during Batman's little incident. He puts it in the player. (Leave it up to the dice to see how damaging/useful it is).

2. Lt. Bullock continues his infilitration of Loeb's circle by attending a private dinnerparty hosted by Hamilton Hill for his friends in the GCPD, hoping to A) not be found out and B) uncover important information about the criminal connections in Loeb's department.

1. Commissioner Loeb, fearing the weight of the DA's office and the possible holes in his organization, will no longer just ensure that his allies in the GCPD will not bend, but will also begin an intense process to ensure his own security. He will begin limiting his number of close confidants, will begin ensuring that the majority of his contact with the Falcones and other corrupt entities in Gotham is kept to middlemen, and will continue efforts to ensure that his allies in the force will not give in. He will also begin burning all non-essential material in his office, fearing another break-in from the Bat.

2. Loeb, wishing to continue securing his position in the GCPD, will have an idea. Under the guise of "internal reviews", the GCPD's mock "corruption unit" will finally jump into action, becoming a mask for the Commissioner and his allies to clean out of the force of any who oppose them, grilling officers and cooking up false offenses to fire them if they are not loyal.

3. Detective Arnold Flass will be ordered by Commissioner Loeb to begin investigating the "Batman" who appears to be threatening not only the crime of Gotham, but also the security of the Commissioner and the current order of the city.

4. Hamilton Hill, licking his wounds from his previous mistakes, will decide that perhaps gathering public support isn't his strong suit. Instead, he realizes things need to get bloody. Fearing Harvey Dent's Mayoral campaign, Hill will begin ordering small groups of his supporters to play pretend as Dent supporters, making loud public disturbances in support of Dent as they threaten random people on the street, commit acts of vandalism, and verbally attack various minority groups.

5. Hamilton Hill will begin focusing on filling his campaign's coffers, for the time begin, holding a series of fundraisers to gather support from the established donors of the city.

Hill:

Pretend: 7 The fake supporters routine doesn’t seem to be working. Most people either see through the ruse, or don’t care about the petty antics that they get up to.

Funds: 15 If not for Wayne, Hill would have a clear fundraising advantage over Harvey. Still, Hill is able to keep pace, and that alone is impressive considering his opponent is being backed by the wealthiest man in New Jersey.

Riddler:

Scientists: 12 The scientists don’t give Riddler anything world shattering, likely due to being inseure around such a superior intellect, but Riddler is able to glean a few interesting technologies from the scientists.

Recruitment: 3 It seems that Gotham’s criminal population doesn’t like being talked down to. Odd. In fact, they hate it so much that they beat Riddler up. Ah, high school memories, eh Nigma?

Recruitment 2: 18 Riddler seems to have learned his lesson from last time, in fact, he’s actually pretty convincing when he wants to be. He makes up for his previous efforts, and then some.

Meeting: 9 Scheduling error, Penguin, and Riddler don’t meet up. Maybe next time.

Falcone:

Restaurant: 13 Mirti ‘persuades’ the restaurant owner to sell the Falcone’s the restaurant at a moderately discounted rate.

Kidnapping: 20 Success! The Falcone Family is able to kidnap the twin daughters of Jacob Kane, one of the heirs to the Kane Chemical Fortune. Jacob quickly pays up, in exchange for his daughters Kate, and Beth, giving the Falcone coffers some nice padding.

Batman: 9 Batman is unable to get close to Mario, despite his best efforts.

Gazette:

Batman: 20 Stop the presses! The article is a hit among readers, but even more intriguing is what goes along with it – An Action Shot of Batman putting the hurt on Milos Grapa! The paper flies off the shelves as people rush to get a look at Gotham’s hero.

Bush: 4 Bush is busy, and admits that he doesn’t read the Gotham Gazette. He then rushes off to another Daily Planet meeting. What’s so special about this Clark Kent guy, it’s not like he can fly, or shoot lasers out of his eyes.

Wayne-Vale interview: 20 Sparks fly among Vale, and Wayne, and the interview isn’t too half bad either! Vale comes off as a great interviewer, asking all the right questions, and delivering both an informative, and intriguing product. Bruce, for his part, gives all the right answers, and comes off as more than just a dumb playboy.

Investigation: 10 Knox gets a few leads, but its nothing to write home about, yet.

Radio: 10 It’s a fine story, but most people take economic growth for granted at the moment, and are more worried about crime, and the Batman.

Maroni: 3 The Gazette gets blasted for running what many call a ‘sanitized’ article on the son of Gotham’s most hardened crime lord.

Penguin:

Maroni: 7 Maroni denies Penguin a meeting brusquely. At least he didn’t get beat up?

Revenge: 17 Finally, a win! The Roman’s men die painful, horrible, slow deaths, and, more importantly. Maybe this is the kind of thing Oz needs to make a breakthrough?

Arms: 6 Oswald’s contacts agree to sell to him, but the deal is a total rip off. High prices for low quality guns. There isn’t even enough guns to equip every man in your organization.

Letter: 2 The Roman throws out the letter without reading it. Sad!

Robberies:

Grapa: 9

Batman: 18

Riddler: 20

Grapa, fresh out of jail after his last encounter with Batman, is back at to his old way, having some fun with the boys as he cleans out a small business. Everything seems to be going right, until the getaway driver is thrown through the shop’s window. The thugs freeze, allowing the Bat to disable them before they’re able to get a shot off. The beast seemingly moved faster than a human, leaping around the room with theatricality, and poise, before seemingly launching its claws across the room. Grapa could take some solace, at least, that the arresting officers were on the take from Falcone.

Across town, however, a new, mysterious gang makes its grand debut. They go on a massive crime spree, stealing thousands of dollars, and escaping from the police unscathed. What makes them especially notable, however, is that they left a riddle at their final crime scene, daring the authorities to figure it out in order to prevent their next crime. The press has already taken to calling their leader: The Riddler.

Hunt The Dark Knight:

Falcone: 1

Flass: 12

“Mhm, mhm, alright, thank you Mr. Falcone, I’ll make sure I bring this guy to you guys!” Bradley said as Mario Falcone turned to leave. Bradley smiled, not only did he get a massive amount of money in advance from Falcone, he also convinced Mario to give Bradley all of the information on Batman that the Falcone family had acquired. “Jeeze, thought he would never leave.” he said, before turning to the figure hiding under his desk, “You can come out now.” he told Batman. “Of all the Private Detectives in Gotham, Falcone decides to hire Slam Bradley to hunt down Batman.” Batman said, as he picked up the files that Mario had given Slam, “Thanks for the help Sam.” he told the detective. “Eh don’t mention it.” Slam said, closing his eyes as he took a long drag of his cigarette, “Hey I ever tell you ‘bout the time-” he started looking to his side to see that Batman had made one of his patented silent exits. “Hate it when he does that.” Slam mumbled, before going back to his cigarette.

Later that night, Detective Flass goes to investigate the scene of Batman, and Garpa’s fight. After searching for a few minutes, Flass finds precious little that would point him in the direction of Batman’s secret identity. That is, until, he catches a glint of sun from the corner of his eye. Looking closer, Flass found a metal throwing weapon, built to look like a bat. Heavy, sharp, probably expensive, should help narrow down the suspect list.

Corruption:

Bullock: 11

GCPD Unit: 2

Loeb: 2

Batman: 19

Gordon: 19

Penguin: 17

Dent: 20

Bullock fails to make a big impact with regards to infiltrating Loeb’s inner circle, but he is able to scare him just enough for him to get paranoid, which in turn leads to him sending out the Corruption Unit as his attack dog. This move is derided by even some of Loeb’s allies as inflammatory, and a witch hunt, which in turn further isolates the besieged Police Commissioner. The worst of all happenings for Loeb, however, is not experienced until the Police commissioner is caught attempting to destroy evidence of his corruption by non other than the Batman. The masked vigilante knocks Loeb out easily, and delivers all of the evidence, along with a video of Loeb attempting to destroy said evidence to Lieutenant Gordon, who in turn delivers it to District Attorney Harvey Dent. The evidence, along with a nearly exhaustive, and detailed anonymous list of crooked cops provided by an unknown source (Penguin), enables Dent to put together a slam dunk case against not only Loeb, but also dozens of Loeb’s closest allies. This could be the massive break that the reformist have been praying for!

Dent:

Dent Prep: 17

Dent Announcement: 14

Bruce endorsement: 1

Dent for Mayor! After weeks of thorough planning, and intense preparations, Dent announced his campaign for mayor to an excited crowd in Finger Park. It’ll be tough to beat someone as entrenched as Hill, but if anyone can do it, Harvey can. He showed he has all of the charisma, and political acumen to make it in Gotham. All the better when Bruce Wayne of all people endorses Dent’s campaign!

Or at least, it would have been, if Bruce had not drunkenly stumbled though a speech, before pissing himself in front of all the party goers. “Well, I guess we can rule you out as Batman now.” Harvey said, rubbing the bridge of his nose in embarrassment. Bruce laughs at this, “Oh yeah?” he asks, looking around the room, before grabbing Harvey’s wrist, and leading him out of Wayne Manor’s Main Hall. “Bruce, where are you taking me?” Harvey asked as Bruce led him into Wayne Manor’s library. “Shh.” Bruce said giddy with drunken enthusiasm, before revealing a retinal scanner than had been built into a bust on one of the libraries bookshelves. After scanning Bruce’s eye, the bookshelf slid sideways, to reveal two fireman poles leading downwards into darkness. “What the the-” Harvey started, before Bruce shoved him into one of the poles, forcing him to take hold, and slide down.

The two men slid down the poles into the dank darkness down below, Harvey screaming the entire time. Eventually they landed in a subterranean cave, deep below Wayne Manor – The Batcave. Dent looked around seeing technology that mid development, a nice looking car, a massive computer, and the batsuit. “My god…” Harvey said, “You’re Batman.”

Not an event, dumb parody.

Commissioner Loeb will wake up, noticing a bruise on his cheek as he realizes what has happened. Looking around the room, he sees all of the evidence he was destroying gone, and that Detective Flass, Lt. Max Eckhardt, Deputy Commissioner Peter Grogan, Swat Commander Howard Branden, and 7 other GCPD officers have entered the room. He will sit down and look at them, waiting to hear what they have to say.

Deputy Commissioner Grogan: My commissioner, we believe the Bat has knocked you unconscious. You've been out for a few hours, and we believe that the enemy has made a breakthrough. We are hearing rumblings from the DA's office that Harvey Dent is preparing a case against you and multiple members in the department, and that the information which was stolen from has been handed to him. We can't confirm anything, but it is likely the Bat did not attack you for no reason.

Loeb: If our anti-corruption unit steps up its efforts and ensures the unity of the force, everything will be alright.

Grogan: My commissioner... the anti-corruption unit...

Branden: The anti-corruption unit has only isolated your position, it's been derided and will only serve to destroy any remaining loyalty you have in the force.

Loeb will look down at his desk for a few seconds, taking in what he's just heard as the anger inside him grows. He is visibly shaken, as he begins to speak in a slow, serious tone.

Loeb: The following will stay here: Flass, Eckhardt, Grogan, Branden...

Shuffling will be heard as all but those 4 and Loeb remain in the room.

Loeb: The unit was an order for loyalty! It was an order! How dare the rats of this force ignore an order and "deride" what I expect of them!? What has it come to? The force has been lying to me, even SWAT! You all are nothing but disloyal cowards!

Eckhardt: I will not allow you to insult our officers!

Loeb: Cowards, traitors and incompetents!

Eckhardt: Commissioner, this is outrageous.

Loeb: This force is the scum of Gotham! You call yourselves officers because you spent months at the academy where you learned to use knife and fork. For years, this department has obstructed me. All you ever did was thwart me! I should have had all of you killed, like the sick gangs of Gotham do it! I've been betrayed and deceived from the start!

Loeb will begin to visibly calm down, as he settles behind his desk and speaks in a somber, almost quiet voice.

Loeb: How can I be a commissioner under these circumstances? It's over. It's all over. If you think that means I'll resign, well, I'd rather put a bullet in my head... Do what you want.

The men shuffle out of Loeb's office and leave him to contemplate his own situation. Outside of the room, officers who were listening in will begin to leave, with cold, dead faces of stone.

All was well for DA Dent. That is until that faithful night. Harvey had gone into Bruce's home and expected to get some much needed attention in the media with a highly influential endorsement, instead he ended up in the tabloids with pictures of Bruce pissing himself in front of the cameras. Dent was a flustered mess and by the time that the two were alone, Bruce was dragging him somewhere and before he knew it he found himself in a dark and somewhat mysterious cave.
Good God! Bruce Wayne was Batman. Dent must have been drinking too much too.
By the time that Harvey had gotten an explanation from an intoxicated Bruce and his butler Alfred, Harvey didn't know what to do. Truthfully the District Attorney should bring this information to the police commissioner but Dent knew the GCPD was untrustworthy. Even the commissioner was a corrupt bastard. So he promised Bruce and Alfred thst he didn't see a darn thing. They could trust him.
For the next few days, Harvey found himself in his office. Reading reports and various polls for his campaign, this was going to be a hard race ahead and he knew it. He also had the identy of the city's vigilante that was slowly helping with the criminal underground and being mentioned in the media. Truthfully, Dent felt conflicted. While he'd promised Bruce that he'd keep to himself, he also know that as a public servant he should do something. Life sucks. Why him?

Dent calls on the Mayor to appoint new Police Commissioner as the recent events with Loeb show that the man cannot be trusted to lead. Dent privately of course encourages the Mayor to appoint Gordon as commissioner.

Dent lobbies the for the endorsement of President Ronald Reagan, he emphasizes his message of being tough on crime and makes sure to mention that he'll have the president's ear when no other leader(Hamilton) in Gotham will if he fails in his bid for office. Dent also makes sure to mention that he could offer an endorsement for George Bush in the '88 campaign.

It's 6PM on a Gotham City night. PRIME TIME!

All over the city people settle down for the night. The average families have come home from work and school, washed up, cooked and have now settled down for dinner in front of the TV. On duty cops patrol but find ways to rest themselves outside of stores that have TVs on display. At this time even the hardworking lawyers, DAs and billionaires take the time to rest and view John Logie Baird's wonderful device.

The City's regularly scheduled programming commences as expected, until...

Static overtakes everyone's TV set. The scrambled pixels sway and occasionally take on a slight colour before focussing. Across every TV in the city here looks to be a torso, a green waistcoat with a bright red rose. A voice chimes in "There we go!"

The torso moves back, soon enough all TV viewers see more of the person as he moves further back until he is completely in frame. No doubt some recoil at the sight of his chalk white skin and ruby red lips.

The viewers also get a sight of the set. They see a grey, cracked stone wall, like you'd see in a derelict warehouse or factory. This however is contrasted by the antique wooden desk slightly off centre and the no doubt expensive tall lamp on the other end of the screen to the desk.

The man, wearing a purple suit with a shock of green hair leans on the desk with one hand. "Hey!" He says, winking at the camera and doing a finger gun with his free hand. "How are ya tonight?"

Pushing up with the leaning hand the man begins to walk up and down the the camera's shot. "Sorry for interrupting your show, especially if it's one that you particularly enjoy! But, I can promise you that this. Is. Important." He lets out a high pitched giggle.

"Gotham City, once a shining metropolis, not to confused with the City of Metropolis I mean this in the sense of the actual word," The man trails of into laughter. "Anyway, this once great City is falling apart. On one side you've got Crime Lords, Corrupt Cops and Councilman, on the other you've got Anti-Corruption DA forces, Clean Cops trying to fix the system and a man who dresses like a bat!"

The man's head drops back and he falls into hysterical laughter.

"Well, I'm here to tell you something else! The City can't be cleaned up! All those who fight for that fight in vein! And to all you on the other side? You think you're something but you're not! You think you're strong, powerful, untouchable, feared... You're not! Whatever side you're on you mean nothing!"

Our brand new evening TV host lets out a screaming laugh.

"Both sides are nothing more than the other! You're soft, squishy sacks of blood and guts, you just dress yourselves up to frighten everyone else into thinking you're more, that's where your power comes from!"

He runs a hand through his hair.

"The only one to be different to this is the Bat. Well, the Bat and me."

The man returns to his desk and sits on it.

"That's right folks, I'm different too. And I know it seems like I'm just saying this, but I can assure you, I am and soon enough you'll all see."

He lets out a low sinister laugh.

"Now to business! Don't want to keep you from your relaxing after work viewing for too long."

The man fastened his top button and straightens his previously loose tie. He dusts of his suit and closes his blazer. Looking straight down the camera he laughs and begins to speak.

"As I said before, on either side there is a man who thinks they are more. Their not. On each side is a man who thinks that they mean something, whether it's cleaning up the streets or just sucking more money from the good folks dealing on 'em. The fact is, both mean nothing. Both can only get so far. Gotham is teetering on the edge of a cliff and one man wants to pull it back to safety, even though he can only move it back an inch if he's lucky. And the other wants to push and hold it over the edge to see what it'll give him to not let go. I however will do something different. I will push it over the edge and jump with it!"

"LET'S DESCEND INTO CHAOS PEOPLE!"

"OH WHAT FUN WE'LL HAVE!"

"THIS IS WHY I'M RUNNING FOR MAYOR!"

The man let's out an deafening laugh.

"ON ELECTION DAY MAKE SURE TO WRITE ME IN!"

"JOKER! FOR! MAYOR!"

The next day Gotham streets are plastered with posters....

Event 1: Thus Always To Heroes.

Commissioner Loeb is sitting in his office, talking to SWAT commander Howard Branden. "I assure you Howard, this can't come back to you. The call was made from a random payphone in the city with a voice scrambler. I made sure we had a loyal and well-paid off judge sign the warrant. You're simply following orders, even once it's all revealed to be a farce, you will not be in the hot seat for accepting the call as evidence. Hell, I'll make sure no one will be in the hot seat, the GCPD was given an anonymous tip and responded accordingly." Braden will reply, "Okay, but if this comes back to bite me, I know whose ass to blame. I'll prepare the raid."

And with that, it was set. Using a fake tip as evidence, the GCPD's SWAT division was to raid Harvey Dent's home with a search warrant, on false suspicion of being involved in laundering drug money through the DA's office. While no evidence would be found and the case would go nowhere, Loeb hopes the move will weaken Dent's image in the public eye as his Mayoral campaign is undermined and his moves against the GCPD can be questioned, since now he could be attempting to weaken the organization which could take him and his imagined secrets down. Loeb will grab a nice glass of whiskey as Braden leaves, confident in the future.

Event 2: The Search For A Wild Bat.

Commissioner Loeb, as commander Branden leaves, will invite in his second guest of the night. Detective Flass will walk in, tossing a metal, bat-shaped throwing weapon on Loeb's desk. "Commissioner, let's just say whoever this Bat guy is, he's either funded by someone with some cash to throw around, or has cash to throw around himself. This weapon isn't something I would expect from some deranged Arkham escapee, and I've begun looking into any rival person or group which would want to fund this project and aim it at us." Loeb will take a sip from his whiskey, "Good work, detective. While I wouldn't discount the insanity of this man given his Bat obsession, I agree. This isn't the work of some random. I want you to keep on this case, but I want you to know that while you'll be compensated for your work, you can't be on the GCPD's payroll any longer. Too much heat is on us right now, and I won't risk losing you to Dent's operation. Continue your work as a private investigator, and remember that this doesn't mean you're out of an income. Report back to me when you can."

Flass, while surprised at the news he was just given, he knew better than to argue with Loeb, and would turn around to leave. Loeb would take another sip of his whiskey, more confident than before in his belief that facing down those who oppose him, he would prevail.

Event 3: The Ever-Confident Hill.

Hamilton Hill, ever the confident man, would laugh when he received news that he was being blackmailed with threats against his campaign events. He, however, would recognize the threat at hand, and would simply elect to cancel all public events for the time being, focusing on his campaign's volunteering, fundraising, and endorsement operations, specifically honing in on the police unions of the city, promising high increases to the GCPD's budget and officer pay, and would make sure to pull on his connections in the force as he seeks the endorsements.

Event 4: With Maniacs On The Loose.

In light of the recent hijacking of Gotham's TV networks by the "Joker" in order to announce his write-in Mayoral campaign, Hamilton Hill, hoping to appear as the sane hero amid all of this chaos, will propose new legislation in the city council abolishing write-in campaigns for city office, and creating a new committee to investigate the arrival of various "Deranged individuals", including the Joker, on the Gotham scene.

Event 5: A Campaign Of Blood.

Hamilton Hill, knowing that he faces tough odds going up against Dent, will once again hire anonymous, small groups of supporters to begin turning the campaign bloody. They will be ordered to put up posters condemning Dent, calling him out for false charges of, "Firing all women from the DA's office", "Verbally assaulting African Americans with slurs", "Kicking babies in the face", and, "Colluding with Russian secret agents as DA."
