Macron vs. Le Pen: the French presidential election, explained - Vox

Meet the candidates (main ones):

Emmanuel Macron (Incumbent) - La République En Marche!

Marine Le Pen - National Rally @Pringles

The Republicans - Open to several candidates, but recommended Xavier Bertrand

Jean-Luc Mélenchon - La France Insoumise

Socialist Party - Open but recommended Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo

Yannick Jadot - Europe Ecology - the Greens

if we have enough we can add more minor candidates from there, starting with Nicolas Dupont-Aignan of Debout la France

Welcome to the first brand new RP of our new forum! 🙂 Post who you want to be below and we'll go from there. I'll have preliminary polling prepared tomorrow based on what public polling is right now 😄

Okay if I've got this right, out of the major candidates we're missing Macron. If necessary, I can do him by myself.

Macron - Open

Le Pen - @Pringles

Sarkozy (Republicans) - @WVProgressive

Melenchon - @Rezi

Hamon (Socialist) - @Rodja (glad to see you again!)

Jadot - @The Blood

Bigard (independent - if I'm right) - @Beetlejuice

Bertrand (independent) - @ConservativeElector2

I'm going to run under a new party called the Yellow Jackets, if that's okay?

Compiling information! Hopefully we can start tomorrow afternoon or evening.

There is only one news I have not included in the above message 😛

On June 13th and 21st 2021 there are regional elections in France (the last vote before the presidential election), In Real Life Xavier Bertrand ( @ConservativeElector2) told that he would put his legitimacy as presidential candidate in his re-election as president of his region (N-Pas de Calais-P), you are free to decide if you want to start before june 2021 and to play regional elections directly or to go after and act like if regional elections results were already decided !

Here are the last regional elections from 2015

CARTE. Régionales 2015: les résultats du second tour - L'Express

Pink = Left-wing coalition

Blue = Right-wing coalition

Yellow = Nationalists-Autonomists of Corsica

CAMPAIGNING CYCLE BEGINS FOR FRANCE 2022

MARINE LE PEN LEADS PRELIMINARY POLLS

Emmanuel Macron Is Targeting French Muslims to Pander to Marine Le Pen's Far-Right Supporters

Polling suggests that Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron would meet for a rematch of 2017 this time around in 2022. But this time, it looks like National Rally's Marine Le Pen enters the cycle with an advantage over her rival in the first round. However, a legion of smaller candidates trails them by single digits. Le Pen leads the field with Macron close behind, followed by Sarkozy, Melenchon and Jadot, and further behind them is Bertrand, Hamon, and Brigard. However, with the right moves, any of them could snatch away a vital spot held by the incumbent president or Le Pen. Only time will tell.

Background Info on the RP itself

For sake of events: do 3 events, in whatever style you should wish. Quick shot is accepted, but if longer events are wanted, they will be rolled the same as the others. Here are the regions in which you can campaign in. You can also campaign in overseas territories held by France, but they have much less population, so be warned on that front. I don't have accents so sorry Ed 😞 But they are Reunion, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Corsica (on the pic as well), French Guiana, and Mayotte. You can visit any of those 18 areas and receive polls for them. We won't be doing endorsements, but we will have debates (will do a poll on quick shot or actual debate, but will probably be quick shot because of the amount of people we have). Also pay attention because I will probably doing some of it like Cal did and offering parties different events and pathways to run campaigns for a bit of extra flava!

France at a glance | The regions of France - The Good Life France

PRELIMINARY FRENCH POLLING

Marine Le Pen - 23.1% @Pringles

Emmanuel Macron - 22.1% @Edouard

Nicolas Sarkozy - 14.9% @WVProgressive

Jean Luc-Melenchon - 10.2% @Rezi

Yannick Jadot - 7.8% @The Blood

Xavier Bertrand - 6.5% @ConservativeElector2

Benoit Hamon - 5.6% @Rodja

Jean Marie-Brigard - 5.0% @Beetlejuice

I don't think I forgot anyone, but if I did, please let me know and I'll add you in. However, new entries are closed unless I forgot someone by accident 😄 So campaigning cycle begins now! 3 events to begin! I will be doing rolls on discord if you'd like to watch them as well 🙂

Sarkozy blasts Penn as a fake conservative, while campaigning in Toulouse, taking particular issue with her economic policies.

Sarkozy then heads to Alsace-Lorraine to talk about his administration's accomplishments for rural communities.

Sarkozy ends the week by appealing to populist voters in Paris, attacking Macron as a loser, and an American puppet.

1. Bigard kicks off his campaign at a rally in Paris by proclaiming himself as the "standard-bearer" of the Yellow Jackets. Bigard believes conditions have worsened since the widespread yellow jacket protests of 2018. Bigard accuses the French government of corruption and incompetency. He urges the yellow protestors to begin protesting again!

2. Bigard meets with yellow jacket activists located in Paris, he invites the media to his meeting. Bigard bashes Macron for treating the 2018 protestors with brutality.

3. Bigard hosts a comedy show-fundraiser event for his campaign at a comedy club in Paris . He notably makes a crude sex joke about President Macron and his much older wife.
