Cal
Presidential Braving the media's fury, Santorum will double down in Iowa where he will continue to speak on the injustices wrought by the push for Obamacare by liberal Democrats. American workers are at risk of losing their union healthcare, and the program has proven to be a colossal waste of taxpayers money. Repeal, immediately! Having won Iowa four years prior, Santorum feels great about his chances of winning again. Further, the runner up in the Republican primaries has often gone on to win the nomination in the next election cycle. Mitt Romney won in 2012 after losing in 2008 and McCain won in 2008 after running in 2004. Santorum is confident that by doubling down on his conservative rhetoric in Cedar Rapids this week that he can continue to expand on that lead and have great momentum moving into New Hampshire. Rick Santorum will take a trip to New Hampshire where he will ask for the endorsement of Representative Frank Guinta. If Guinta is willing, the two will hold a rally discussing the need for the federal government to become more removed from education policy and to return power traditionally granted to state and local authorities in schooling. Santorum will make his first visit to South Carolina of the campaign season where he will be attempting to undercut Governor Haley in her own state by proclaiming himself to be the most socially conservative candidate in the race, and the candidate most committed to ending the horrid practice of abortion. Finally, Rick Santorum will meet with Senator Ted Cruz once again and ask for his endorsement. Downballot David Vitter launches his reelection campaign for LA Senate. Dobs
Haley 2016 1. Nikki Haley will reach out to Iowa Governor Terry Branstad after his having praised her earlier in the campaign for a finalized endorsement. 2. Haley will do the same with Senator Tim Scott, who has been one of her closest mutual allies throughout their careers. She hopes to campaign with him while he is on the campaign trail himself in Columbia, running for a term in his own right to the seat which Haley appointed to him. 3. Haley will next seek the endorsement of Liz Cheney, who has seen her star among the right rise as she helped bring the Iran Deal to task- Haley accompanies this with a speech in South Carolina establishing her as the firmest defense hawk in the race. Secretary Rice will be asked to appear as well to bone up her foreign policy credentials. 4. Haley will then head up to New Hampshire where she seeks the endorsement of former nominee Mitt Romney as a former Governor of a neighboring state and likeminded Republican leader. 5. Haley finishes the month by making a bit of a unique appeal- that to Sarah Palin. Palin was a major backer of Haley in the 2010 gubernatorial race as a piece of her Pink Elephant program. Scoring Palin's endorsement could be a massive benefit in shoring up her right flank for the primary season as Haley already does well with more moderate voters. If Palin agrees, she will be asked to announce this endorsement at a rally in Greenville, South Carolina. Downballot 1. Jenean Hampton will hit the trail furiously as she aims to build a broad coalition of Kentuckians united around her common sense conservatism and the fact she will be the first black person and second woman elected Governor of Kentucky. 2. Governor Bobby Jindal announces that he will continue his campaign for U.S. Senator, even after Senator Vitter changed his mind on retirement, at a campaign stop in Shreveport. 3. Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne will continue to campaign for Governor of Louisiana, aiming to keep the state red. Legislative Events Legislative Republicans will rest on the laurels in the wake of the Iran Deal hearing and allow the agreement to die unless President Obama would like to provide a better alternativev. Thus, we have no legislative moves this turn. Gubernatorial Events Gov. Nathan Deal announces a bilaterial economic agreement between Georgia and South Carolina at a joint press conference with Gov. Nikki Haley. The deal is expected to bring great benefit to the already closely linked states.

Rodja
AUGUST 2015 TURN SUMMARY POTUS ACTIONS N/A PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN EVENTS Nikki Haley Campaign @Dobs Rolls:8,6,10,5,3 Haley had a strong August for her campaign scoring some major endorsements. The most notable one came from Rep.Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President who endorsed Haley at a giant rally in SC that also featured Sec.Rice,an event that bolstered Haley foreign political credentials. She received endorsements from IA Gov.Branstad, which might boost her power in first caucus state, and her homestate Sen.Tim Scott. She also met with 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney who gave her some campaigning advice.Gov.Palin,controversial 2008 VP nominee also commented on Haley campaign, emphasising that while "I like her a lot,she might not be best candidate for GOP next year". John Kasich Campaign @WVProgressive Rolls:8,7,3,4,4 August was overally an alright month for Kasich as he didn't have any bad moments but didn't have particularly strong ones either. He makes a strong appeal to conservative Latinos in NV with his uncompromising pro-life stance, his appeal to African Americans in SC was also fairly good one.His campaign still doesn't succeed to make breakthrough in IA and NH.Gov.Branstad has a short meeting with Kasich but nothing newsworthy comes out of it. Rick Santorum Campaign @Cal Rolls:7,9,5,7,7 Santorum did quite good on campaign trail this month. He holds series of large rallies in IA,does pretty good with abortion focused message in SC,turns media criticism of his Obamacare repeal pledge into a strength. He then headed down to TX where he received an enthusiastic endorsement from firebrand conservative Senator Ted Cruz.He also met with NH Rep.Frank Gunta, but fell short of receiving full endorsement. Donald Trump Campaign @Cenzonico Rolls:2,2,5 Trump Campaign had a bad month,no other way to say it.He did bad in crucial early states like IA and NH where people just can't take him seriously. His speech mocking gun control in TX is welcomed as entertaining take on conservative red meat issue but doesn't convince many to support him. Charlie Crist Campaign @Kitten Rolls:2,1,2,1,8 After two solid months Crist Campaign faced rough truth in august. This was a bad month for Charlie,no other way to say it.His foreign policy stances are harshly criticised by liberals as “hawkish” and “right wing” harming him in more diplomacy oriented Democratic party. His plea for endorsement from Culinary Workers Union was rejected without consideration as CWU even issued a statement criticising Crist Campaign. His message about balancing the budget sounded more like coming from Republican. The only strong plank his campaign had was that he is “the only Democrat that will cut your taxes”. Brian Schatz Campaign @Fbarbarossa Rolls:7,1,9,8,6 August can no doubt be called a good month for Schatz Campaign. His strength in IA continues to be displayed in a series of town halls strengthening his appeal to both progressive and more moderate Democrats. His grassroot efforts finally successfully as his open mic rallies for volunteers become an absolute hit across the nation. His social investment plan resonates amongst but fails to expand his base. His weak point comes in NV where voters aren't impressed with his campaign. Joe Biden Campaign @The Blood Rolls:2,6,4,9,5 Biden campaign continues to be a mixed in august as well. His momentum in NV continues to roll strong and campaigning there is the strongest point of the month for him.His campaign in CA is still decent but with no real momentum.Biden attempts in SC cannot really be successful either, but they are far from unsuccessful. He moves a needle slightly in his favor in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines, but his campaign is just weak in rest of Iowa Julian Castro Campaign @Hestia Rolls:8,8,9,3,8 Castro had a successful comeback month in August after a weak July.He held a series of successful rallies across IA college campuses galvanizing youth support for his campaign and finally gaining real momentum in crucial early state. While in IA he snatched the endorsement from Rep.Cindy Axne at a rally in Des Moines. His message of improving Obamacare resonated pretty strong in state of NH and he got some support from coastal parts of SC.The only downside came from NV where Sen.Reid abruptly ended a meeting with Castro citing his “preposterous endorsement request” DOWNBALLOT CAMPAIGNS MainstreamReps Downballot @Dobs Rolls:3,2,8 KY Gov:Hampton campaign isn't showing the strength from the primary in general election campaign leaving Republicans worried about this election. LA Sen:Jindal is harshly criticised for challenging the incumbent and dividing the party. LA Gov:Dardenne is running a strong campaign that can be optimistic about their chances in November. ModReps Downballot @WVProgressive Rolls:10,2,3 KY Sen:Rep.Whitfield immediately after his Gov primary defeat announces challenge to Sen.Paul.His announcement was strong and well received giving Sen.Paul a reason for a Headache! WV Gov:Mr.McBride has a very weak start for his campaign indicating he might not be a good enough candidate. UT Gov:Fmr.Gov.Huntsman has announced his comeback bid to smaller than expected audience causing questions about voters wanting him again or a potential new face. PopReps Downballot @Cenzonico Rolls:9,10,7 NH Sen:Beloin campaign starts with a splash, indicating his campaign is much stronger than anybody expected WI Sen:Sen.Johnson is beloved in Milwaukee where he holds a giant rally. CO Sen:Blaha has a decent start, but given Glenn's popularity he will need more good months to be competitive. ConReps Downballot @Cal Rolls:5,5,1 LA Sen:Sen.Vitter has a decent start but will have to fend off primary challenges from Gov.Jindal and John Kennedy. OK Sen:It was a solid start and as a red state Senator,Lankford didn't need anything more. UT Sen:Sen.Lee performed abysmally in his reelection announcement giving Democrats a glimmer of hope in deep red state. BlueDogs Downballot @Kitten Roll:8,5,6 MS Gov:Espy is doing good giving Democrats a glimmer of hope as he successfully appeals to even more conservative Mississippi voters. HI Sen:Rep.Case announcement makes no big splash as he is considered too moderate for deep blue state like Hawaii. KY Sen:Another losing gubernatorial candidate announces running against Senator Paul! While not as strong as Whitfield,Grimes announcement goes over pretty well. She is expected to win a primary but a general election might be problematic. ModDems Downballot @The Blood Rolls:4,2,8 KY Gov:Abramson builds an operation to boost voter turnout, but it doesn't seem to be as effective as he and his aides hoped for. LA Gov:First half of the month was very bad and weak for Landrieu, with second one being strong with some momentum leaving August being a mixed bag for Landrieu. ProgDems Downballot @Fbarbarossa Rolls:3,3,3 WI Sen:Feingold ads gather audience but fail to convince people that he is the right candidate. OH Sen:Kucinich momentum seems to start to slow down a bit. PA Sen:Fetterman is knocking the doors but fails to gather any real momentum yet. LibDems Downballot @Hestia Rolls:2,5,6 PA Sen:McGinty still fails to find any real mojo and her campaign continues to be just plain weak NV Sen:Cortez Masto has just an average month on campaign trail without any major events. OH Sen:Cordray has a good month giving him a bit of an advantage over his challenger from the left,Dennis Kucinich. LEGISLATIVE EVENTS McCain Veterans and Dependents Care Act(VDCA) @WVProgressive Rolls a 3! McCain's idea is well received but it fails to move out of committee for now. King Defence of Democracy in Syria Act(DDSA) @WVProgressive Rolls a 9! Bill gets bipartisan support in both houses of Congress and swiftly passes, making US commit to fighting for democracy in Syria. Iran Deal Committee Results @Dobs Rolls a 7! Harshly and swift Republican action in committee hearings last month forced Obama administration to enter in renegotiation as public approval for previous version of the deal only continued to drop. GOVERNOR EVENTS Rauner Illinois Emergency @WVProgressive Rolls a 5! Gov.Rauner announcement is well received by Republicans but seen as cheap playing politics by the rest. Bullock campaigns for Crist @Kitten Rolls a 2! Bullock seemingly learned nothing from last month continuing to abuse his position to help his favored presidential candidate instead of governing a state. LePage speaks at Tea Party Conference @Cenzonico Rolls a 6! Gov.LePage gives a decent speech that satisfies Tea Party base but most Americans don't care about this at all. Brown Climate Resolution @Hestia Rolls a 5! Brown climate resolution is praised by the left and vilified by the right, just as expected. GA-SC Agreement @Dobs Rolls a 3! Many contracts were given to companies close to the two governors and cronyism ended up being a bigger story than benefits for states which are undoubtful nonetheless. CNN:What’s next for Donald Trump? @Cenzonico Chris Cillizza:As GOP primary gets more and more competitive there is a question that’s more and more on pundits mind, what to make of Trump’s campaign? Is he even serious about this? With a man like Donald you can never know for sure, but right now he has a certain appeal to certain kind of frustrated conservative voters but right now it is not enough for him to have a realistic pathway to victory. Will that change in the process?Only time will tell. Fox News:Santorum becomes favorite among Tea Party Republicans @Cal Tucker Carlson: Now let’s move on to Rick Santorum, who was the runner up for the Republican nomination in 2012, who many conservatives say would have beaten President Obama instead of Mitt Romney is making a strong push to win the nomination this time around. Case in point the endorsement from Tea Party superstar Ted Cruz. Time will tell if Santorum can appeal to both social conservatives in the south as well as Blue collar workers in the Midwest. MSNBC:CWU snubs and criticizes Crist @Kitten Rachel Maddow: Charlie Crist seemed to be on the rise as the Blue Dog Democrats were looking like they were going to have a comeback after being in the dark for years. But the Culinary Workers Union has stomped out some of the momentum as they not only refused to endorse him but also called him a “Republican in Democrats clothing “ outright refusing to support him POLITICO:Brian Schatz has huge Grassroots support passing 1 million individual contributions @Fbarbarossa Hawaii Senator Brian Schantz’s progressive platform has finally succeeded to make a strong appeal to grassroots activists. After a highly successful series of well attended open mic rallies,he succeeded to pass a number of 1 million individual contributors, something no other candidate can say as of now. TYT:NeoCons are rushing to endorse Haley as their favored pick for GOP nomination @Dobs Cenk Uygur:They are having a reunion!Cheney, not that one but still a Cheney, and Rice are united in their support for neocon heir apparent Nikki Haley. It’s very telling what kind of President Haley would be with crowd like this supporting her.Well,i have a message for them,America doesn’t need your chaos, wars and destruction ever again. We need a country that works for the many not the few. The Clarion-Ledger: Mike Epsy makes inroads with conservative leaning voters @Kitten “Mike Epsy made amazing moves in the last month, while he has a huge base of support in the urban and black population, he recently has made inroads with rural white voters who enjoy his moderate appeal that could cause a major upset in the Mississippi Gubernatorial race”
