  1. Moynihan; Horrified by the nomination of George McGovern, storms out of the convention with fellow delegates, alongside Governor Ann Richards of Texas. In a statement to the press: "Under no circumstances will I support the Democratic nominee, and I encourage all of my supporters to vote for anyone except that contemptible demagogue. May God help our Democratic Party, and may God help our country." When asked to comment concerning Mario Cuomo, Moynihan states: "The boy was in over his head."
  2. Moynihan mingles with delegates in the North East, hoping to peel away Cuomo and McGovern heads alike. Moynihan invites New Yorks own Beastie Boys to come to the convention and drop some lines, hoping to energize Moyniheads and peel away younger McGovern delegates. Moynihan calls up Bill Clinton, with some coaxing from Ann Richards, Bill could be a great asset to utilize on southern delegates.
  3. Based on PA elections as a whole, it’s a sign of good fortune at least for Democrats imo. They’ve edged the GOP on turnout by around 30-50,000 votes last I checked, Haley is pulling in 160k votes in a closed primary, where mail ballots were cast after she had dropped out. Biden easily getting 93% of the vote.
  4. It’s really good, it’s also a great indicator of how much politics have shifted since then. Based on the policy values I gave myself in that game, I’m akin to Bob Dole in terms of policy stats, George HW Bush as well. It also gives you a classification of each policy category, I’m mainstream conservative for every single one except social, which is somewhat conservative. Today, well, even though I still consider myself a conservative, much of the GOP would consider me a RINO who voted for Chairman Biden.
  5. I literally play this all the time, in fact, for those of us on discord, I had everyone give their policy numbers and everyone gets a 5-5-5 on the personal attributes.
  6. Unless the margins of these numbers never really mattered, or diminishing returns occurred so to speak, then I’ll stand corrected.
  7. When the Dems only have a 6-4 advantage on black voters, 5-4 on Asians, 10-3 advantage with liberals compared to 7-0 for their conservative counterparts, going solely by the numbers, it’s difficult for me to see how this feasibly wouldn’t create a more interesting outcome, strictly in a game sense. All I ever really looked at with the help of Shortking, were the numbers.
  8. It’s your game, but I’m more of a preacher for dynamic-outcomes in video games, with the pros and cons of that. AMPU by and large is a historical simulator, with its size and scope of the game it certainly makes sense, but even then as I’m sure we all very well know, there are some hilarious results whether they were due to chance, or metagaming. If I wanted a vanilla election experience I’d just watch what occurs in real life, as dull as it is.
  9. @ShortKing Guess this means we’re Bush/Cheney
  10. This is like when Hestia won Iowa and SC then had to drop out. GOP wins 3 debates, crushes in the October surprise, crushes in campaigning. The swing states should’ve been expanded or the game just seems unfriendly to nominees who differ a bit from generic R or generic D.
  11. If we lose Nebraska, V, fix your game. 😂
  12. I definitely think if the swing states were expanded somehow, other states would’ve been in play, such as Colorado. But I’m not complaining, this is a W.
  13. This is what would happen if the GOP ditched Trump.
  14. Daniel Patrick Moynihan Enters the Stage... Rap Music Begins (Beat drops) Yo, listen up, gather round, it's time for a discourse profound, At this convention, where chaos abounds, sanity's what we need to expound, I stand before you, not as a prophet, not as a zealot, But as a scholar, a statesman, a voice against this madness, I shall yell it. George McGovern, lost in his own delusion, Declaring jihad on America? That's an intellectual contusion, His mind's a maze, a labyrinth of confusion, A descent into darkness, a democratic illusion. I come with facts, with figures, with reason in hand, Not with violence, not with madness, not with blood on the land, For the prophet he claims to be, his vision is skewed, His reign of terror, his campaign of doom, must be subdued. So here I stand, not as a savior, not as a saint, But as a scholar, a servant, ready to acquaint, This nation with its better self, its rationality intact, For in this battle of ideas, it's Moynihan who shall impact. So let us rise, let us reject the madness, the despair, And choose a path of wisdom, of justice, of care, For the future of this nation, the destiny we share, Lies not with the prophet, but with those who dare to declare: Enough! Enough of this madness, this folly, this strife, It's time for reason, for dialogue, for the preservation of life. So let us choose wisely, let us choose well, For the fate of our nation, only time will tell. Thank you. And God Bless the United States of America.
  15. I'll do a final rally in Virginia pitching to the college-educated.
  16. Take your time pal, life first. 🙂
  17. Something I’ll try to research more over the summer.
  18. Almost unfavorable for refusing to recognize Israel, but I can’t brush aside his contribution to our victory in WW2 and the Marshall Plan.
  19. I'll do a rally for non-college in Arizona.

  21. Under my consideration of socialism, I do not consider Scandinavian countries to be wholly socialist countries. Private property, among other things are still allowed, they’re social democracies, people still have relative market freedom, if not as much in other countries. I’m fine with social democracy, (even if I don’t agree with it) which is what I’d generally consider Scandinavian countries. It is within the acceptable range of ideologies in my view, I’m highly opposed and skeptical of the notion of democratic socialism, and I’m also highly opposed and skeptical of anyone who claims to be a doctrinaire socialist… I could make it longer by going down the list of the freedoms they’d not only deprive of others, but deprive of themselves, you probably know what I’m going to say though but I won’t waste time. So when I talk about my view of a socialist nation, I’m generally thinking of a Laos or Vietnam type of country, not a Scandinavian country. That rhetoric has been around since 2016 unfortunately, thanks to Bernie Bros, MAGAtards, or both fighting over it. And yes I fully agree and consider how bad pure capitalism could be, I’m not an anarcho capitalist. I’m a conservative whose ideology is molded by “Compassionate Conservative” figures, and if we want to get deeper, somewhat of a Benjamin Disraeli influence is there as well. But I’m choosing to always keep capitalism, keep the market freedom of individuals, and less tax burden upon an individual always over the alternatives. Social security is a good thing, even if I think it has issues needing to be addressed, unfortunately, that’s how politics works. It’s an issue to appeal to certain voters, and the actual problems will likely never be addressed.
  22. It's all good, I can shorten it. Essentially, communism being authoritarian is inevitable in my view. With Fascism, for example, you have an anti-human ideology, as in, Fascism is all about fighting other men, putting it somewhat ironically and simplistically. It's a strong-man ideology. Communism masquerades as an ideology about brotherhood, equality, and international solidarity--tearing down the rich and uplifting the poor. But it too, is violent and reprehensible, it's about death at the end of the day. Death of the rich. In practice, Communism is the most anti-human nature of all ideologies in my view. I would lump in doctrinaire socialism as well. In all attempts these have been made, the champions of the "proletariat" if you will, turn on another at some point, and the entire plan itself is upended. Such is human nature. I have no issue with Georgism really even if I don't agree with it at all. It's better than the 3 "Bad" for me. (Communism-Fascism-Socialism) Georgism is also a bit weird, as some people don't consider it left, or right, correct? I'll let you continue from this point if you want, I'm not a Georgist expert.
