6. Traditionalists (Very minimum government - Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Mike Lee) 0
7. RW Populists (MAGA - Trump, MTG, Gaetz) 0

10.Retirees (ages 65-120) 1
11. Asian-Americans 3
12. African-Americans 3
13. Latino/Hispanic-Americans 3
14. Foreign Birth (foreign born voters that live in foreign born communities) 3
15. voters w/ College degrees and college degree jobs. 7

17. Reformists (wants large-scale change in government, elections,etc) 5

19. Military Expansion (vets, expansionists, internationalists, neocons, etc) 1
20. Humanitarianism (pacifists, humanitarian aid, multiculturalism, etc) 3
21. Environmentalist (Green New Deal, conservation, Alt-energy) 7

What was the tipping point?
By my count it was New York again. It did have the exact same margin as Connecticut and North Dakota, but even if Payne had won both of those it wouldn't have been enough without New York.

That makes him a faction leader for the 2nd time and from 2 different parties. Can't recall see that in a playtest yet.
High probability he gets replaced fairly soon as well, so he'd be the first pol made faction leader and then rejected by two different parties!

Once you've done that, you may select your faction leader. For the Democrats, unless you specifically say they aren't running for party leader, I'm going to run them for party leader.

A House Divided; 1856 AMPU Playtest Part 2
in A More Perfect Union (AMPU)

Just thought I’d point out that the North can also secede in this era (and it actually just occurred to me how funny it would be if after having the players switch parties from the first 1856 playtest, the same players who had to deal with losing so many pols in the last game ended up having the same problem caused by a Northern secession).
