  1. For the response portion yes but for each event after points are awarded... If the president nets positive points, their faction enthusiasm has a 25% chance of increasing by +1 If the President nets negative points, their faction enthusiasm has a 25% chance of decreasing by 1. If an ally gains more points than anyone else, their faction enthusiasm has a 25% chance of increasing by 1. If an ally loses more points than anyone else, their faction enthusiasm has a 50% chance of decreasing by 1. If a faction from the opposite party gains the most points, moderate enthusiasm moves +1 If more factions lose points than gain, party preference moves 1 spot closer to the opposing party. 2 factions gained points but 3 factions lost points

  6. 2.4.3 EraEvos Folks from NJ, PA, and NY Join Westward Movement NJ -1, NY -6, OH +2, PA -4 EVs in next census 50pts to LW Pop/RW Pop, Big Agriculture Congress of Panama Simon Bolivar, "the Liberator of South America," has organized a congress of former Spanish colonies to adopt a uniform policy to deal with Spain. Foreign Policy hawks with influence abroad have compelled Bolivar to invite the United States to the congress. However, many political leaders see such a move as being too interventionist and a waste of federal spending to attend the Congress. Response A: Send delegation to attend Congress of Panama, even if it upsets Slaveholders in Congress Response B: We can't upset the South by attending a Congress with countries that have outlawed slavery Louisiana Purchase Napoleon has once again approached us desiring to sell us the Louisiana Territory. Napoleon is desiring to sell the territory for some much-needed cash to fund his wars, although his foreign minister, Talleyrand, opposes this idea. Napoleon has sent the diplomat Francois Barbe-Marbois with instructions to give the United States an offer the president can't refuse. The issue is that purchasing the territory might be unconstitutional or extra constitutional. We will have to somehow justify the purchase legally, although I doubt any major politician is going to oppose increasing the size of our territory. This will certainly set a precedence for "necessary and proper" interpretation within the Constitution. Response A: Sign the Treaty even if it might be unconstitutional to do so. Response B: Purchasing land is arguably unconstitutional. Refuse.
  7. 2.4.2 AnytimeEvos Who ever thought Frederick Whittlesey would turn out into such a policy wonk? Whittlesey must be aiming for a cabinet position in the next administration. @pman Whitttlesey gains Egghead Learning from the Best Is it just me or does Cornelius Roosevelt seem more like Simon Cameron during negotiations with the other factions? @dkh64 C Roosevelt gains Manipulative Worrying Diagnosis We've been informed by John L Kerr's staff that Kerr has been given a worrying diagnosis. The specifics weren't given, but we can expect that it might impact the longevity of Kerr's political career. @pman Kerr gains Frail Gain Random Trait Well, you certainly told me something about William Patterson I didn't know before. @dkh64 Patterson gains Puritan Assassination Attempt A lone could-be-assassin has fired on an incumbent politician. We are yet unsure of the condition of the politician, but the gun person has been taken into custody. @ShortKing OH Rep Benjamin Tappan has been assassinated @DJBillyShakes Gov Harrison can name a replacement Sophistication Lowest Scoring Blue Faction Leader Gains Command One of the leading US politicians is strongly considering a presidential run, believing that the government has ignored a fraction of the people for far too long. @dkh64 Edward Livingston gains +1 Command (his 1st!) Philosophical Diffusion It looks like John W Walker and Cornelius Roosevelt are coming around to our faction's values. We could make use of them in higher offices to make sure our voices are heard. @dkh64 Walker and Roosevelt gain Expansionist Senator or Rep on Committee Garners Attention We're certainly glad Rep Abner Lacock is representing us in committee. Lacock could be posturing for a run for higher office. Maybe we should take advantage of this? @dkh64 Rep Lacock gets +1 in 1826 midterms and gains +1 Legis

  14. It was a very surprising result. I spent the night with my state rep who knows Ryan since they serve together in the state house. He was stunned. Said he is a little bizarre like his last name lol but the insiders were not even paying attention to this race since it was a shoo-in he would win. And it was not just an anti endorsement revolt by the primary voters as the other statewide endorsed candidates won easily.

  17. 2.3.1 Presidential Appointments: @pman Pres Stephens can name his 1st cabinet. A couple notes below. CIA Director- Can be removed by president and replaced at Appointment time, but at a 25% chance - mil prep, unless the officer is incompetent, easily overwhelmed, or is older than 70]. Does not count toward the limit of five retained officers.] FBI Director- Can be retained and won't count against the limit Chairman of Joint Chiefs Starry's term is NOT up at this time. We need a new Army Chief of Staff and Naval Ops Chief. If promoting a General name a replacement for them. We need two (three if you promote another) new Admirals. Oh and Lauch Faircloth, who was Stephens Kingmaker when he got elected, must be your Key Advisor for this half term.
