  1. I haven't been in a playtest for a while, so my memory may be off, but I thought if there was nobody left in your ideology group, you were allowed to draft outside of it with no penalty. It seems like the CPU just stopped drafting once all of their ideologies were gone. Also, and this is more of an improvement than a bug, but it would be nice to be able to search for things during draft (state, traits, etc.).
  2. My latest game is going very interestingly. At home, I am killing it. The public loves me, congress loves me, tons of friends, media is good, economy is booming. I'm the greatest president of all time. Except... China. Their influence is everywhere. At one point they had 18 influence on the board. If I can't fix this before the next time China acts, I will hit the auto-lose condition. The big problem is the action to remove influence can only be done once per activation phase, and it isn't always successful. At this point, I think I've got maybe a 1:3 chance of surviving. So I am forced to ignore everything else to focus on avoiding the auto-loss, and I'm sure that will kill me down the road. Terror groups are already starting to become an issue, as I now have a level 4, and a couple of level 3's.
  3. I could get it, but in likelihood it wouldn't be until tomorrow.
  4. To be fair, I did order it back in 2016. It's been a long time in the making. I'm hoping AMPU doesn't follow a similar path.
  5. Yes, there are midterm elections, but I haven't survived long enough to get to that point yet. Also, there are congressional opponents, and they most certainly screw up your plans. They oppose legislation, can cause gridlock, and can talk trash about you in the media, lowering your public approval.
  6. There is also an easier version. My next playthrough, I've been using a combo of the easy version and the normal version, and while it is still a little challenging, it's not quite as chaotic. In hindsight, I should have started with that while I was learning the game.
  7. It's super difficult. Here are some notes from a turn in my first game. Keep in mind, this was a turn where I could make good things happen. Next step, media relations drop a level.I can now do two domestic actions. My public approval and media relations are in the toilet, so I'm going on a presidential press tour. I finally pass a roll, and my media approval goes back up.Next, I've got to improve my party relations. It costs me an AP, leaving me with only 2 for the rest of the year, but it works. The final step is legislation. First off, since I have no friends in congress, and 4 opponents, all my bills end up moving further away from being passed. Secondly, since there is no cooperation at all, no bills will get passed this turn. And finally, as if I don't have enough issues, I roll terribly again, and now there's corruption. My secretary of defense is involved in a scandal. My party relations drop to the lowest possible level. My public approval is now at the lowest possible level. My RWC also drops a level. I should resign, but I'll soldier on.My energy independence bill dies in congress. My enemies go on the morning news shows to trash me, but the joke's on them, my public approval can't go any lower.Back to my scandal. I should have a +6 DRM, but have embarrassingly hit the +3 DRM max for this roll. If you guessed I rolled the worse possible result, you are correct. The investigation into the scandal shows that I was involved with it. I lose an AP, also RWC drops, and public approval would drop if it wasn't at the minimum. The scandal deepens, and I lose my last remaining AP.Honestly, I don't know how this can get any worse. But I'm sure we'll find out.
  8. I've got to laugh at this. I see you are going up in flames spectacularly too. Don't forget, you can skip an action to get an AP back. My problem is that in my game, every time I did that, something happened which forced me to lose an AP. I don't know if it was just bad luck for me, but I don't know if gaining the AP was worth losing an action.
  9. MT - Sam V Stewart (2) - No term limits for Gov OH - Stephen M Young (3) - Build Military Academy
  10. I'm going to assume you haven't read the end of turn rules yet. I didn't either until I got there, and ended up with a nasty surprise!
  11. I suppose you could create your own cards if you wanted to, but I don't know how they would affect the balance. The game does come with quite a few scenarios, which removes certain cards, and makes sure other cards are in the deck, so that might be something that could interest you. You might even be able to create your own custom scenarios with existing cards. They also have suggestions about multi-player similar to what you are suggesting. For example, you could have someone play as Secretary of State and have them handle all the domestic decisions made.
  12. I just finished my first game, and it went terribly. Let's just say the last table I had to look at says "You are widely considered the the most ineffective President in history". Ouch!
  13. First thing you need to do is draw a chit. Let me know if it's A, B, C, or D, and I'll try and help out. There's a lot of rolls and tables for this part.
  14. Sorry, was on vacation and just got back. I assume you have the rules by now, right? ETA: Just read the thread, and realized you don't. Allies phase is a little tricky. Give me a minute, and I can give you options...
