  1. I hope such an untested candidate winning the primary doesn't hurt the Democrats chances to win the general election.
  2. That would also be my preference, I think that’s a good way to do things.
  3. DAYS OF THE WEEK THAT WORK BEST FOR YOU: S-M-T-W-T-F-S (Will inform if this changes) (in the 8-11 PM East Coast time frame) DAYS OF THE WEEK THAT ARE OFF LIMITS FOR YOU None (in the 8-11 PM East Coast time frame) DO YOU HAVE A PREFERENCE BETWEEN THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS: "8-11 PM", "9-11 PM", "8-10 PM" Being an unemployed homebody is finally paying off!!! lmfao
  4. I feel like a lot of Republican/conservative Presidents are nerfed tbh, for example I think a five is way too low for Reagan when he presided over a massive economic boom during his term.
  5. Yeah, I like that idea. I gave Greg a really practical useful skill set even in the apocalypse (part of the reason I made him a doctor was for a bit of added security, everyone needs medical aid sooner or later so they’d be smart to keep the doctor around) so I definitely want to kind of balance that out by giving James a kind of liberal arts non-practical background that isn’t very useful in a survival situation. I think that’ll give way to an interesting dynamic and a lot of good role play opportunities.
  6. I hadn’t thought of that before. How about he’s a docent at the Carnegie Museum of Arts?
  7. I’ve been trying my best to try and recruit players but it doesn’t seem to have caught on. Hopefully when the weekend comes anyone interested will have the time to sit down and write their application. I’d feel awkward having you do all the gming just on my sake but genuinely thank you for offering that.
  8. ABOUT YOU What is your prior roleplaying experience? I've been RPing both in a group setting and one-on-one for more than half a decade now, mostly involving this forum and its predecessors. What time zone are you in? Eastern Are you committing to coming to this forum multiple times a day to participate in roleplay discussions and make your moves? Yes Are you open to eventually moving this to a weekly "live" game over Teams or Discord? If so, what evenings work best for you (evening by East Coast US standards, as that's my timezone)? Yes ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER Name - Dr. Gregory Sean Laurie Age - 48 Occupation - Trauma Surgeon Issue - Emotionally Withdrawn Who is your companion? James Aaron Hawkins, 43, Husband Why are you and your companion in Central Pennsylvania this Memorial Day weekend? Working a double shift at the UPMC Mercy Trauma Center, as always. CHARACTER STATS STRENGTH 3 Close Combat 0 Endurance 2 Force 0 AGILITY 2 Mobility 1 Ranged Combat 1 Stealth 1 WITS 3 Scout 0 Survival 1 Tech 1 EMPATHY 5 Leadership 2 Manipulation 0 Medicine 3 Your Talent: Surgeon Backstory (If more information is wanted/needed, I am happy to provide): Gregory Sean Laurie was born on November 27th, 1975 in Nashville, Tennessee, the only child of Robert Taylor Laurie - a small business owner - and Mary Elizabeth Laurie (nee Major) - a school teacher. He was raised primarily in the small town of Midland, Tennessee and experienced a relatively normal rural childhood - hunting during the fall, learning quickly how to hike, and which wild mushrooms would taste good in soup and which would make him trip. However this idyllic life was disrupted when Laurie, aged 16, came out to his parents as gay. Predictably, for rural Tennessee in the early 90s, his parents rejected his identity and gave him an ultimatum to either abandon homosexuality or move out. He chose the latter, but through hard work and determination was able to go to Boston University for Pre-Med before going to Rush Medical College where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine. He later completed his surgical residency at the Rush University Medical Center before specializing as a trauma surgeon. During his time in residency, he met James Hawkins through a mutual friend and the two later married upon his completion of residency. Today he works as one of the top trauma surgeons on staff at the UPMC Mercy Trauma Center. During his career he's saved countless lives on the table, one of his proudest stories is of the kindergarten teacher he saved from an Abdominal Aortic Aneurism, her kids sent her more get-well-cards than he'd ever seen another patient receive. Not all surgeries went as well as that one, however. When you're dealing with car crashes, gun shot wounds, and construction accidents having a patient die on the table is always a real possibility, but it's never pleasant. In part because of the suffering he's seen, as well as lingering emotional scars left behind by his parent's abandonment of him, Laurie is an intensely emotionally reserved person. Relying on the support of others is not easy for him, even his husband often finds his emotions inscrutable. This has strained the two's relationship over the years leading Laurie to focus more on his work, but they still love each other in a strange slightly unhealthy way. At least there's no world ending event that would throw a torpedo into the tenuous stability they've been able to find together!
  9. Every time someone calls the Nordic System ‘Socialism’, an Angel dies
  10. Apparently Orange wants to make very clear that he will NOT be the one to schedule your lobotomy lmao Don’t worry bud, I’ve got you. What are friends for if not helping you do insanely risky brain surgery?
  11. How is it disrespectful? People are just expressing their opinion that the best way for her to defend the constitutional ideals she’s championed her entire career may be to step aside and let someone take her seat. Should she be forced to stay on the court until she dies just because you don’t want a young liberal judge on the bench?
  12. I can only hope his retirement also ends his family’s domination of the WVDemocratic party which has been toxic for all Democrats not named Joe Manchin. I am 110% convinced that this state isn’t nearly as much of a lost cause as people think if we just change our approach
  13. Abbott talks taxes in Iowa Abbott attacks DeSantis in Iowa over education Abbott asks Lindsey Graham for his endorsement
  14. Nothing says draining the swamp like appointing a multibillionaire hedge fund manager to run the treasury lol
  15. A more accurate translation of the quoted commandment is “Do not murder” according to my research which directly relates to blood guilt and unlawful/immoral killing and not a blanket ban on all forms of man killing man. 6. My other is Child Abuse of any variety. 10. I’m not a very forgiving person, and I just don’t believe in it when it comes to things like murder.
  16. I feel bad for selecting Trump and Clinton on basically all of the vices but not the other Presidents. If the others were as covered as Trump or Clinton were then I’m sure I’d feel differently. I have a higher bar for virtue than I do for vice so I was extra bullish on that as well. Also question 17 is impossible to answer since both groups advocate rank immorality but I just went with the one who’s slightly less antagonistic towards religion. And before anyone accuses me of being overly judgy (which tbh this is just an overly judgy poll to begin with) I fully confess to the fact that I commit five out of the seven practically every day. I don’t want to come off as some oblivious jerk who thinks they’re a good person while judging other people, I fully acknowledge I’m chucking stones from the comfort of a glass house.
  17. That's perfectly alright! I mean besides, it's not like I've been a very active GM lol.
  18. I like her a whole helluva lot more than Phyllis Schlafely, but I still disapprove of her. If only slightly.
  19. Voyager is my favorite Star Trek series bar none, but I also love TNG, TOS, and Enterprise (Probably in that order). I hated the reboot movies, and other than Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds there isn't much I've enjoyed from Star Trek post 2005. Anyway, the game looks great, though I hope it's not too action/military oriented, and I'm naturally reticent to support projects that seem to make big promises.
  20. I'll spend 1 WC on No College and Reform respectively
  21. I’ll attack @Hestia for farmer interests
  22. There's probably some crazy from PSL, Workers World, RCP (God I really know too much about the extreme left don't I?) or one of those other ultra-left parties that would make you want to vote third party if someone waved a magic wand and made La Riva, for example, the Democratic nominee. But you're right that no one that radical would ever get near elected office let alone the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Bob Avakian and Trump are pretty similar in that they're cult leaders lol
