Drums of War: An All-CPU Playtest of the Civil War

Recommended Posts

I was expecting this to be a good year for the Whigs, but in retrospect, the map was friendlier to the Dems.  A lot of dem defenses were states they were very good in, so unlikely to lose.  Maybe the house will be a different story.

1906 House Elections

Whigs only make marginal gains in the House, which leaves Democrats with the majority of 222-197 (down from 231-188).

With Dems holding onto the majority of governorships, could Pres Pattison see a Dem trifecta?

I am curious to know if this is the first midterm where a President has gained a chamber (if they gain the Senate)

Yates gained the Senate in 1902 so this would be only the second time this playtest if Pattison gains the Senate.
