With the admission of MN and OR, the slave and free state balance favors the free states now.

  • Speaker Thurlow Weed and the Sen Pres Pro Temp Francis Granger lose -250 points each and both get -1 in their next reelection bid. 
  • The moderate factions each lose -250 points.
  • Domestic stability drops by 2 (already rock bottom)
  • Party Pref Blue -2 (now Red +1)
  • Civil Rights gains 250 pts and Right Wing Activists lose 250 pts.
  • The factions with Civil Rights Blue +1: Progs, Mods -1 Blue
  • Right Wing Activist candidates and nominees gain +2 in the next election.

MN and OR Gov

Stephen Miller of the Abolitionists wins the MN governorship. Appoints William Windom (Senator Class I) and Morton S Wilkinson (Senator Class II) [both Liberal Whigs].

AC Gibbs of the Moderate Whigs barely wins the OR governorship. Appoints James H D Henderson (Senator Class II, Liberal Whigs) and James K Kelly (Senator Class III, Imperialist Dems).
