Despite Trump winning MI in 2016, I think MI is definitely a lean blue state in regards to pres elections.

This is another state that is generally called a tossup, but it's also definitely lean Blue in pres elections. It hasn't voted GOP in a pres election since 1972 (Nixon). It is the only state to never vote for Reagan.

This state is just getting redder. Obama's 2008 election is an outlier as Childers would keep his seat blue for just that one term. Reaction to Obamacare rendered Thompson as the sole Dem, representing "the black belt." Thompson has his worst reelection victory in 2022, which is worrisome to Democrats.

Missouri used to be a somewhat competitive state, but it's clear that that's changed. There's no clear wave to the GOP, it's just been fading that way. Interestingly, Sen. Hawley mentioned that post-2022 Midterm that the Republican Party is dead. Kind of a strange statement coming from him. I'm not sure what his reasoning is.

I heard someone call this the Democratic North Carolina in that it is clearly a lean blue state and not really a tossup. This election, which should have been awful for Democrats, probably shows that strength. The state has not liked Trump era Republicans in the least. It's a growing state, which will help Dems in the future.

Id argue its not really getting redder in terms of votes just more efficiently Gerrymandered. The state has a floor of 40% for the Dems and has reached the mighty highs of 43% in 08. This is probably the most inelastic state in the country

This state is losing political influence as population has been moving for decades now. This generally means a state becomes more conservative, although NYC will probably hold this state for Democrats in the pres elections for decades to come. This is a rare state that GOP waved in during the 2022 midterms. If not for the Cuomo scandals, this might not have happened.

Dems gained two seats here, despite losing a close senate race. Strong reaction to Obama's 2nd term and to Trump's 2nd term, although it narrowly voted for Trump.

A rapidly waning state politically that has lost it's bellweather status. I think the state is now a lean Red to likely Red state, similar to New Hampshire for Democrats. I think Sherrod Brown, more likely than not, will lose his sea in 2024 unless Biden or other Democrats wins big against Trump, DeSantis, or other Republican.

Boren is kind of misleading. While a Democrat, he was so conservative to make Joe Manchin seem like Bernie Sanders. He may have been the last truly conservative Democrat. Horn is an outlier that shows how unpopular Trump was nationally by 2018.

This state had a lot of Democratic presence in recent history. It's not until 2010 that the state is truly GOP. Crazy to think Al Gore used to be their senator. 2022 saw Democrats knocks down to 1 seat in the state.

Despite red dominance, the state has been more competitive since 2018. Who knows if a post-Trump GOP can revert the state or not. Say what you will about Beto O'Rourke. He did two things that are amazing: Look at Light Red Cruz and Light Red Abbott. You have to go back to 1988 and 1992 respectively to find better or comparable results. Beto might not have gotten the job done, but at a early 21st century Texas Democrat, he is underrated. I don't think anyone else could have done better, sadly, except for a celebrity or independent.

Lee faced an Independent. As a growing state, I wouldn't be surprised if a Democrat US Rep becomes a norm at some point, but we aren't there yet. Lee's light red is due to a competitive race against an independent conservative.

Strange state in which Democrats may be strongest here anywhere outside of DC, but then they really like their GOP governor. Note how few Democratic governors there have been despite solid Blue elsewhere. Sanders caucuses with Dems, so he's basically solid Blue too.

I still think AZ is probably a lean Red state, but it could actually be a true tossup. 2010 rendered Democrats down to only 3 offices, but they made up for that in 2012. The state was repulsed by Trump by 2018 and 2020. I think the state would still go GOP if the GOP nom leans anti-Trump.

Obama's 2008 performance knocked the GOP down to one seat. 2020 showed some signs of a GOP wipe out. 2022 was about as close to a Red Wave as the GOP could hope in this state. I doubt Chavez-DeRemer keeps her seat in 2024.

2008 was the first time the GOP had been wiped out since 1964. They were wiped out again in 2018 and now in 2022. This state was once considered a tossup state as recently as the George W Bush years, but Bush policies pushed the state to the Dems. It's a Likely Blue state, not even lean Blue now. Susanna Martinez was once a rising star in the GOP. I'm a little surprised she never ran for president. For Democrats, I always expected Heinrich to run at some point.
