AMPU: 1800 Playtest - Era of Republicanism
pman replied to ebrk85's topic in A More Perfect Union (AMPU)
It's probably a waste of a proposal but I am generally in favor of trying to test the rules as much as possible. I know it wouldn't be fun for your side for a cycle or two but I do think it would be fun to see if we could prevent the game from ending by balancing lifetime President with other laws. It would be fun to see as well how a side who constantly gets +1 midterm bonus would fare. I actually think this era would be the perfect one to test it out in. How long would it take for the Democrat-Republicans with their massive era advantage to get a majority large enough to impeach the executive/ repeal the lifetime President. -

Let's just have fun. Thomas Boylston Adams: Lifetime President Amendment Amos Granger: Repeal Establish Federal Judiciary (I am not sure if I can but if it's possible, let's do it to ban slavery and move on) -

Wood listens to his cabinet and does A for both (guy has nothing to lose so why the heck not). -

Matt is really the guy driving the Pottery Barn administration so the Secretary of State advises to do both. Plus, Wood is in his 2nd term and he has no intention of doing what Jefferson did (he's President Wood, not King Wood). King Jefferson was enough. Advises A for both -

@ebrk85 Speaking of laughable- there's an easy (and funny fix) to this. President Wood appoints Outerbridge Horsey (so glad I can work him into the cabinet) to Treasury. He's 4 admin, egghead and has the econ trait. Plus, great name. Pottery Barn is bringing the horse back into the barn. -

I laughed at the wording of the rules, not because of anything you did. I understand the rule- many early Sec of States became President. It's just funny wording "pinnacle of the appointment" -

Out of curiosity did he decline because he quit the last administration? Because both Treasury and State are top 4 positions -

Ok, that’s too important to rush so can you hold off putting this to a vote - I’ll have to move some people around and won’t be able to look at the sheets until tomorrow afternoon -
