  5. I am not running anyone for House Minority Leader or Whip btw
  6. Below is what I have for the House- I'll just have to take out of committee whomever becomes Majority Leader in the House but this gives anyone who wants to double check my work a chance to. I am busy most of the weekend but I'll try to fit in the Senate when I get a chance. 9. From Entrecampos CPU faction- Sonny Perdue (rules for party flipping says they only have to be marked party flipping) which he is
  10. Gotcha- John C Spencer, pliable mod from Euri
  11. Mike Huckabee from ark to fl (2nd state) Lew Lehrman from NY to WY (over to under)
  12. Only if it's one of the Red Factions , haha
  13. Got it, didn’t realize others have made this point and that it’s been discussed before!
  14. I am not complaining- I just want the game to come out. I am just point it out- everyone can do with it what they want. I am ok with built in short cuts for players- it makes the game more playable. I am just pointing it out.
  15. Except, it isn't really a penalty, it's just as likely to be used as a bonus If one member (but not both) on the ticket is marked “independent” or is currently not holding office (excluding military), then +1 because voters like an outsider. In both of my elections, I pared an unemployed, inexperienced main candidate with someone serving either in Congress or Gov to get the point you're referring to. I want the game made as much as anyone but there's a penalty for being from a small state (in the primary), seems like there should be an inexperienced penalty at some point in the process too but I guess I agree with Jimmy, it's not a big deal, just something I am pointing out. I agree with Jimmy too on player agency but I just thought it was worth pointing out
  16. Yeah, I mean, I don't care too much, I've used it to my advantage others will to. I know we're really just in the, get the game playable mindset which I totally agree with. I am just pointing out, it's super ahistorical and yet super easy in the game to get someone elected President without any experience what so ever. But I guess that falls under the category if, if people want to manipulate the rules of the game, so be it, if it isn't this, it'll be something else.
  17. Small thing but I've definitely noticed it in a few playtests (both 1800 and 1948). I've joked that I've gotten good at turning people with no jobs or experience into playtest Presidents. Both our current 1800 President Silas Wood and our 1948 President Canadian-American Stan Stephens never had any official government job (elected or appointed) before becoming elected President. Looking over American history, that's exceptionally rare. Correct me if I am wrong, but our most recent former President is the only person in American history elected President who wasn't previously either elected to a high profile government position (VP, Sen, Rep, Gov) or at the very least served in a high profile appointed position (Sec of State, high level General, etc). You can say "well they still need to get command first" but honestly, that isn't too hard. Get someone on state gov career track, wait 20 years, they get charisma and then they have a great shot at becoming Party Leader and getting command. What I am getting at is- should there be a penalty for running someone for President who hasn't served in either an elected position in the game or a high level appointment in the game (military or cabinet)? It seems like it would make elections more realistic. Just a thought.
  18.
