We can do the Supreme Court now because they won't impact the convention.

Long-term ideology drift

  • Caleb Cushing does not shift and remains Cons
  • Joseph P Bradley shits to the left from Mod to Lib

The Court will hear one case

  • O'Reilly v Morse
    • Is an abstract idea patent-eligible?

Initial votes

  • Salmon P Chase- Nay
  • John McLean- Aye
  • Jacob Collamer- Nay
  • Caleb Cushing- Nay
  • Joseph P Bradley- Nay
  • Benjamin Thomas- Nay
  • George Vail- Nay

No conversions can occur, so the initial vote stands. The Court decides 1 Aye to 8 Nay.

Amazingly wikipedia doesn't have what the vote breakdown IRL for this case was, other than this is the historical outcome.

@Ich_bin_Tyler, Point of Order...I think we already have a gag rule on slave power bill and debate...but the others look good.

What's interesting is that we essentially ran out of options to improve domestic stability. Their was only one real good one left and we didn't meat the requirements

Trust me, Polk was looking for two terms to do something to improve it...and there just aren't many options short of the 10% chance when admitting new states.
