I’m not sure I completely understood your question, can you elaborate? But if you mean some of these elections should be happening the following year (an odd year), then the answer is simple. I usually don’t try to challenge incumbents of my own party, but apparently I didn’t notice we had an incumbent in one or two of these. I understand the part about have the elections on even years but it just seemed a bit odd that people who wouldn’t win for a while were the incumbent. If you go back to the beginning of this thread and review the 2012 election results, Incumbent Governor Bobby Jindal was primaried out by another Republican challenger and then Bel Edwards defeated that Republican.
