Oh, and where are Fulani, Paul, Means, and - I suppose - Duke? You had the Third Party candidates in the '60's and '70's ones.

My criteria: Must get at least 5% in one state or get a better result than the one who did.

60s: Byrd got some electors

68: George Wallace got a lot of support

72: Schmitz got 7.25% in Alaska (this is where I would usually look at because Alaska is where third parties/Independents tend to do well)

76: While, McCarthy didn't hit 5% in any state, he still got more votes than Roger MacBride who did (which is why I added him as well.)

80: Anderson got considerable support. Ed Clark got like 12% in AK.

I also didn't include Lyndon LaRouche, Bruce Babbit, Jim Traficant, and Douglas Applegate. I didn't want the list to be too long.

@Pringles thinks soft tyranny, abuse of incumbency, and engineered lack of choice in elections to protect the stranglehold on power of criminal, corrupt, lying, and treasonous political parties indefinitely is funny. That says volumes for his character and values.

No, I just think offering any sort of significance to someone like David Duke is lunacy, and all of the other irrelevant candidates you mentioned. The other two are more tolerable, but still pretty mediocre, and it's reflected in how many votes they got lmao.

Who cares how long it is. Shorter lists serve abusive incumbents and nigh invulnerable party systems - not because they're the best party, or a party deserving re-election, or a anything but a party of traitors, failures, crooks, liars, and other high criminals - but because they suppress the message and, "media oxygen," of opponents. In every Presidential election in Russia from 2000 on, most voters asked had only heard of United Russia, the CPRF (the only significant opposition party nowadays), the Liberal Democrats (a dummy party of United Russia), and, in 2012, Prokhorov's Independent bid. Suppressing the message of opponents keeps the same party(s) in power for long period - but it's a crummy and descipable practice no political party WORTHY of any support or respect, or that shoes any honouring of the will of the voters or any democratic principles, does.

I mean, I could have made the list this long:

George H. W. Bush

Bob Dole

Pat Robertson

Jack Kemp

Pierre S. Du Pont

Alexander Haig

Paul Laxalt

Harold Stassen

Jack Fellure

Michael Dukakis

Jesse Jackson

Al Gore

Paul Simon

Dick Gephardt

Gary Hart

Joe Biden

Pat Schroeder

David Duke

Bruce Babbit

Lyndon LaRouche

Jim Traficant

Douglas Applegate

Ron Paul

Russell Means

James A. Lewis

Harry Glenn

Lenora Fulani

Delmar Dennis

Willa Kenoyer

Larry Holmes

James Warren

Earl Dodge

Jack Herer

Eugene McCarthy

Edward Winn

Herbert G. Lewin

If we're ever going to please Mr. Annoying Pedantic over here... maybe this is what we're going to have to resort too... 😛

Don't forget to include all possible Write-In candidates that were actually recorded as well! You'll need to find these on the basis of a county level btw, tapping into county records of all 3000+ American counties. Thanks!

As opposed to Mr. Stupid, Caustic, and Inappropriate Black Humour and Denial of Fundamental Problems in the World Because He's a Fan of the People Behind Those Problems. You don't stand on any sort of precipice of virtue to make such broad, personal-level denunciations from, you know. You're not really on a high, white horse, but knee-deep in the mud with the rest of us - and no less deep than ME! Keep this in mind!

I must say I do feel quite higher from the mud than the creepy old man who likes to obsess over little things and argue with teenagers and college students over the internet... quite disturbing mindset for one I'm afraid.

Why not?

Because most people would feel that the list is too long to rank.
