  1. I'm away from the sheets until at least Sunday evening so if you wanted to add up the floor votes and see what's passed and what didn't, go ahead. Then you can hit voting shenanigans if you want. I can do points when I get back. Thanks!
  2. And now the Democrats have a majority in both Houses and the Presidency. Nice.
  3. Voting for Will until he returns from vacation (this weekend I think)
  4. 35th US Congress- Please vote on the following legislation before the Congress. We will be without the votes of Milledge L. Bonham and Sen. Sumner for this session. Bonham is under investigation and Sumner is incapacitated for this session. For the Congressional investigation into Bonham, there were no rules that I could find for Congressional investigations in either this phase OR in 3.0, so I will adopt the Court Martial Rules in 3.0 for this purpose. "1-2 die roll chance removed from the game. 3-4 die roll removed from office. 5-6 die roll absolved." The roll is a 4, so Bonham will be removed from office, but remain in the game. He cannot be reappointed to the House, but he can run again for the office in 1858, but not as an incumbent. 5. Added by Eric in December to the rules; "After the committee votes, the chairs will have the option to package any of the passing legislation or leave them separate." To me, that includes replacement bills as they are auto-approved in committee. But if you see something in the rules that says differently, I'm willing to make adjustments!
  6. Are you packaging any legislation or will they all stand on their own?
  7. FOR Committee Chairs ONLY. You can REPLACE the bill if it is in italics. You may only replace 1 bill in the committee if there are multiples. The bill you replace must be of the same committee. For example, you can't replace a Foreign/Military bill with a Domestic bill and so on. Committee Chairs may also package some or all of the bills in their committee to move to the floor vote. 11. 35th US Congress Committee Voting So, we will have two rounds of Congressional voting, with packaging and replacement bills in between. This round is all committee votes. Then, those bills that pass committee can be packaged and/or replaced by the committee chair. 12. So I have searched the LegisProp and LegisActive for this and cannot find it in the search. So I rolled for a replacement bill to benefit Conservatives and came up with "Chinese Women and Chinese Prostitute Ban" so will use that instead.
  13. I think I just need @Blockmon proposals now. Thanks!
  14. The 1840 playtest is still running and we are in like 1906...
  15. Does the President approve of this suggestion? @Euri
  16. Sorry, last game RedCons was your faction and the other was RedRW, but since there are virtually no RedRW pops, I decided to change their names this game...
  17. Well, we do have an Economic Stability Crisis and a Domestic Stability Crisis so you can propose something relating to them.
  18. Wade will propose Establish Congressional Gag Rule Against Slave Power Bills and Debate Wilson will propose Colorado Territory
  19. That legislation requires that the Civil War is underway or has happened, so you'll need to select different legislation.

  21. Yes, he died about seven months into his 5th term! John Rogers was the VP and became President, but didn't get the nomination from the D-R for the office in 1820 and lost out to Wood & Clay (we call it the Pottery Barn ticket).
  22. 2.6.1- Congress in Session/Congressional proposals 1856-58 Congressional Session, 35th U.S. Congress- Welcome to the 35th Congress of the United States. House Speaker James L. Orr of South Carolina calls the House to order. In the Senate, Pro Tempore Thomas Jefferson Rusk of Texas calls the Senate to order. Please see the rules regarding spending bills, foundational bills, tax bills, and statehood/territory bills. Executive Interference: Both the Secretary of State, Lewis Cass @10centjimmy BlueCons, and Secretary of War Hamilton Fish @Bloot911 can propose legislation that has to deal with a crisis in their department. These proposals must be approved by the President @Euri before they can be picked up for free by a member of Congress. Remember that proposers can only propose bills that don’t cost points to one of their faction’s cards or which aligns with their personal ideology, personal interests, or expertise. The only exceptions are if a bill helps with an ongoing crisis or helps the ability of the military during war time.
