  1. OK just need @Euri BlueRW, @ConservativeElector2, @Bloot911, and @Blockmon for GOV actions. Thanks!
  2. Good catch!! Thank you. I must not have moved the meter during Lingering...glad I write it all down.
  3. Hancock is a 1 Gov. 38/20 so his GOV action fails, but he will still need to organize delegates for the 1860 Democratic Convention.
  4. Ligon- 5/20 so success! 2/5 to increase dom stability. It is also a success! Dom-stab moves from 2 to 3, Violent Protests and remains in crisis. @Arkansas Progressive Ligon rolls to gain Command and lose obscure as his state action has impacted a national meter. 81/50 12/50. He also has a 50% chance to gain +1 Governing. 45/50. So, Ligon loses Obscure and Gains +1 Gov (but not Command). 100pts for Labor Unions.
  5. Not to put a damper on anyone's parade, but Phil Gramm was a Republican in 2000, and definitely NOT a Democrat. He switched parties from Blue to Red in 1983. I know, because I was present at his "Presidential announcement" in the 1996 campaign. He announced it in my former hometown of Columbus, GA. He was born on Ft. Benning (now Ft. Moore). He eventually lost the nomination to Bob Dole.
  6. @theFreezerFlame You have another GOV to do an action for, Gov Jackson of MO. He is retiring at the end of his term, but can still attempt a GOV action this turn.
  7. Leading Industries- AL leads in Plantation CA leads in Mining CT leads in Maritime IL leads in Agriculture MA leads in Manufacturing NY leads in Finance OH is tied with MA in Manufacturing Govs in these states get 100 points. Conventions- The Republican party announce that their 1860 National convention will be held in Philadelphia, PA. @10centjimmy Governor Pollock of PA to set the delegates for the convention. The Democrats announce that their 1860 National convention will be held in St. Louis, MO. @theFreezerFlame Governor Hancock Lee Jackson to set delegates for the convention.
  8. Bissell- 46/20 so fails. Bingham- 100/20 so fails. Bashford- 18/20, so success! WI now has 4 year terms for GOV, and the new term of office will start with the next GOV election in the midterms. Chase- 4/60, 6/60. Success for both! OH now has 4 year terms for GOV, and the new term of office will start with the next GOV election in the midterms. Salmon P. Chase has also built a political machine in Ohio, resulting in a +1 for all @Willthescout7 candidates that stand for election in Ohio in both the "primaries" and the General election. 67/10 so no decrease in honest gov meter.
  9. Wickliffe- 18/20, so success! Maritime industry increases by 1 in LA. 100pts to Gov of LA and Sens from LA.
  10. Broome- 37/40 so success! Florida lowers taxes. 9/5 so economic stability doesn't increase (but it was close). 50pts to RW Activists, -50pts to LW Activists. Bragg- 22/20 so fails. Wise- 72/20 so fails.
  11. @Willthescout7 is on vacation this week and asked me to make the moves for his faction until he returns. William Henry Bissell, IL, 1 Gov- No term limits Kingsley S Bingham, MI, 1 Gov- 4 year terms for Gov Coles Bashford, WI, 1 Gov- 4 year terms for Gov Salmon P Chase, OH, 3 Gov (Efficient)- Build Political Machine, 4 year terms for Gov
  12. 2.5.2 Governor Actions- @Euri, @10centjimmy, @theFreezerFlame, @Arkansas Progressive, @ConservativeElector2, @Bloot911, @Blockmon, @Willthescout7 It's time for Governor actions! You can find your Governors on your individual faction sheets, or you can look at the GovState tab. It's a good idea to look at the GovState tab anyway since that's where the information is about state elections, terms in office, and what actions have already been taken previously in your state. Please post your actions as follows; Gov name, state, Gov ability, Action (Action 2 if Efficient). John Smith, VA, 3 Gov (Efficient)- Action 1, Action 2. Thanks!
  13. Lingering Phase- 1856-58 Revenue/Budget: Reversion to Mean +1. Sec Cobb -1. Key Advisor Marcy +1. Rev/Budget increases by 1 to 5, Balanced. Foreign Relations: Sec Cass +1 with Spain, Advisor Marcy +1 with France, Ambassador Dallas, +0 with UK, Ambassador Mason -1 with France, Ambassador Dodge -1 with Spain, Ambassador Henderson +1 with Prussia/Germany, Ambassador Seymour -1 with Russia, Minister Reed +0 with China, Minister Wright +1 with Japan. Overall: -1 with Russia (now at 5, Neutral), +1 with Prussia/Germany (now at 6, between Neutral and Friendly), +1 with Japan (now at 5, Neutral). Econ Stability: Sec Cobb -1, Advisor Marcy +0. Economic stability decreases by 1 to 4, Panic and remains in crisis. Dom stab does not decrease (92/5). Since this crisis began under Buchanan, if it is not resolved by the 1860 election, Buchanan will get a -1 in the election. Mil Prep: Sec. Fish +1, Sr. Gen. Winfield Scott +1, Sr. Admiral Perry +0 = increase of +2, and now at Level 5, Possibly Prepared. Also, you are out of a Defense Crisis, giving +1 to Buchanan in the next Presidential election. Dom Stability: AG Black +0, Advisor Marcy, +0, Revision to mean +1. Dom-stab improves by one and is now at 3, Violent Unrest and still in crisis. Honest Gov: PM General Brown -1, Advisor Marcy +0 = decreases to 4, between Rampant and High. Quality of Life: Key Advisor Marcy +0 = Remains at Level 5. Party Pref: PM General Brown -1, Advisor Marcy +0 = moves +1 Red to Neutral, no preference for either party. Enthusiasm shifts: Libs +1 Red to Red +1 All meters have been adjusted accordingly.
  14. As a 5 Admin Red Mod, Fish would be approved in the Senate. Henderson and Wright are auto-approved as they are not controversial and have 4 Admin. Now for lingering!
  15. @Euri You can appoint a new Secretary of War, and you also need a Minister to Japan.
  16. Impact of Era Evo's- If the president nets positive points, their faction enthusiasm has a 25% chance of increasing by +1. 82/25 so no increase in Trad enthusiasm. If a faction from the opposite party gains the most points, moderate enthusiasm moves +1. Mods move +1 Red to +2 Red.
  17. Removals- 20 yrs; Robert Allison, Military Calvin Willey, State Exec Roger B Taney, Admin Additions- Private- John M Clayton State Exec- John Motley Morehead State Legis- Jeremiah Morton State Admin- Richard J Bayard Backroom- Hamilton Rowan Gamble
  18. Appoint Republican Thomas S Butler, PA, Lib, of Lars faction, 4 Judicial. Really want to try and get that 5-6 roll to increase party pref....help a guy out here who crossed the isle and brought in a Red justice!
  19. I mean, we have part of Mexico and the Philippines, why not try something closer to home?
  20. Why would you get a negative party pref for a President from your party making the trip? Preposterous!
  21. There are, surprisingly, very few actions that get that. Most are n/a or -1!
