Military Prep; 5, Possibly prepared. Domestic stability; 4, Violent protests. Incumbent Party -1 in elections. Honest Government; 4, between Rampant and High. Quality of Life; 5, Adequate. Mod and Cons +1 Enthusiasm; LW Pop -1 Enthusiasm Party Preference; 5, No preference LW Pops; +2 Red Progs; +1 Red Libs; +1 Red Mods; +2 Red Cons; Leans Blue Trads; +3 Blue RW Pops; +3 Blue Overall, Blues get -1 in elections, in addition to the -1 for Midterms. Cons +1, Mods +2. @Euri @10centjimmy @theFreezerFlame @Arkansas Progressive @ConservativeElector2 @Bloot911 @Blockmon @Willthescout7 OK, I will give you 24 hours or so to get your GOV and REP nominees in. Those politicians that are eligible for reelection should already be listed in the elections tabs. Remember, you cannot challenge an incumbent of the same ideology in a "primary". Also, because Trads & RW Pops are both +3 Blue, incumbents from those factions cannot be challenged by other Blue factions unless there is no incumbent in the seat (a term limited Gov for example). @Arkansas Progressive can you fix the RepElection seats for seat bias for Kansas and Oregon? I'm not sure they are correct. If there are any problems or issues you see, please let me know.
  8. Rolled a 3, so McLean doesn't resign. Justice Catron of Tennessee retires at 70 from the Court and is removed from the game. Caleb Cushing is the nominee to replace Catron. Cushing is a 56 year old Conservative from Massachusetts with 3 Judicial skill. He is an Egghead and Unlikable, but not Controversial. He doesn't have Integrity. All Senators that are within 1 ideology (rule says faction leaders ideology) of Cushing would vote for him. So Trads, Cons, & Mods. So, only Will's liberal faction would vote against him. Cushing is confirmed 54-7 with 1 absent (Sumner). Conservatives move +1 Blue to Blue +1 (rolled a 5). Party preference moves +1 Red (rolled a 1) and it's at neutral. No gains for Cushing. He does not move ideologies. Alvin Hawkins is the nominee to fill the vacant seat. Hawkins is a 35 year old Conservative from Tennessee with 1 Judicial skill. He has Integrity and is Likeable. All Senators that are within 1 ideology (rule says faction leaders ideology) of Hawkins would vote for him. So Trads, Cons, & Mods. So, only Will's liberal faction would vote against him. Hawkins is confirmed 54-7 with 1 absent (Sumner). No change in party pref, but Cons move +1 Red now to Leans Blue. Hawkins gains +1 Judicial. He does not move ideologies.
  9. William King, ME (1) Efficient- Establish State Bank, Lower Taxes William Coxe Jr, NJ (3)-Repeal State Legislature selects President Samuel C. Crafts, VT (1)- Abolish slavery
  10. So a quick question about Congress of Panama. Option A, which was selected, has 25% chance of increasing relations with UK FR and Rev Budget. 75% chance for -TRAD. There should be no impact to Party preference, that's only in Option B.
  11. 2.8.4 Compelled Supreme Court Retirements Players controlling SC Justices can voluntarily resign their justices from the SC at this time if the justices has reached 75 years of age or has served at least 12 years on the bench. This means that Roger B Taney @Euri BlueRW, John McLean @Blockmon, John Catron @Euri, and Peter V Daniel @10centjimmy BlueCon can do this. If not, a president with “Manipulative” can attempt to compel ONE Justice of any party to resign, so long as the Justice has served at least 12 years or is 75 years old, at a 5-6 die roll chance of success. Again, you can target Taney, McLean, Catron, or Daniel. President Buchanan @Euri, do you wish to attempt to compel a retirement? If so, and you are successful, you will have another vacancy on the court. Also, there is an existing vacancy on the court. Whom do you appoint to fill the seat?
  12. A for both. I'd rather take a potential 25% chance hit on dom-stab than one on party pref. for the Panama Congress.
  13. Davie was just on the Econ committee. I have placed Uriah Tracey's replacement, Ebenezer Huntington, in that spot.
  14. Roll a D-100 3 times. If it comes up 20 or less, then randomly select a politician to move and follow the 60/40 guidance listed above. Preferred state ideologies are listed on the Gov tabs, and elsewhere I think. Highest enthusiasm is on the meter page. Just note the meter that is most away from the center for both the Reds and the Blues. I don't know what the 5 pols per phase is, but I always just stick with 3.
  15. 2.8.3 Executive Actions President Buchanan has 4 Command points, and thus gets 4 Executive actions. However, he also has Geostratagist which gives him a 50% chance of gaining 1 command point that he can use on foreign affairs/military pres actions only. 98/50 so Buchanan does not get the extra point. His key advisor is Manipulative, but Buchanan is not Pliable and is a Micromanager, so no chance to block an executive action. What are your 4 Executive actions, Mr. President? @Euri
  16. Since @Euri is also the Speaker of the House, I assume they will not try to override the Presidential Veto. The bill was close in the Senate and probably wouldn't get the votes needed to override. Buchanan does not gain any ideological enthusiasm for his ideology by vetoing the bill. But rolled a 2 for party preference, so party preference moves +1 Red to Leans Blue.
  17. Executive Office Phase- @EuriPresident Buchanan has the following bills on his desk. Which do you sign? Quitman-Davis Act Quitman Act Phelps-Hunter Act Cass Act Houston-Bayard Jr Act Wilson Act Mallory Act Black Act Bright Act
  18. Military Actions- There are no active wars, so this phase is skipped.
