1994 NFL Passing Leaders

Marino is probably MVP, while Jeff Garcia is probably Rookie of the Year. Danny White, at age 42, leads the league in Comp%. Trent Green had the lowest Comp%. Danny White also leads in yards. Montana takes the lead in TDs. Mark Brunell throws the fewest INTs, while Brett Favre throws the most. Steve Young once against performs strongly on a weak team. Both Wade Wilson and Bobby Hebert manage to make the playoffs despite having more INTs than TDs.

1994 NFL Playoffs!

Rookie QB Kurt Warner wins the SB! This is insane considering the Vikings went like 9 straight years without winning more than 6 games in a season!

  • SB: Raiders Vikings def Raiders *Close game until the 4th quarter*
  • N Champ: Vikings def Giants *Landslide victory*
  • A Champ: Raiders def Browns *Raiders probably have huge lead and almost lose the game*
  • Div: Vikings def Bucs *Landslide! Probably like 55-10 or something*
  • Div: Browns def Broncos *close game*
  • Div: Raiders def Colts
  • Div: Giants def 49ers *Giants running game blasts through holes in 49ers Def*
  • WC: Broncos def Oilers
  • WC: Colts def. Patriots *close game*
  • WC: Bucs def. Falcons *Upset and close game*
  • WC: Giants def. Cowboys *close game*

Scores at the end of the 1994 Season!

Biggest takes are:

- @vcczar falls out of triple digits, as @matthewyoung123 expands his lead slightly.

- @jnewt has two teams in the SB allowing him to decrease the gap between him and VCczar.

- @ebrk85 Bengals, among other issues, are seeing @Rezi getting close to passing him.

- @OrangeP47 if not for Danny White, his score could have fallen close to zero.

Honestly, I think half of my score here is because of Joe Montana...

EXPANSION TEAMS!!!!!!!!!

Two teams, the Carolina Panthers and the Jacksonville Jaguars, have been added to the league!

The Panthers go to @vcczar, who had only 4 teams, and the Jaguars to @OrangeP47, mainly because of his current score, being the tie-breaker. I have to avoid an owner having to teams in the same division.

Expansion Draft!

The two owners above will be allowed to do the following

  • Steal 1 QB, 1 RB or FB, 1 WR or TE. 1 C, G, or T on offense from other teams.
  • Steal 1 DE or DT, 1 MLB or OLB, 1 CB, FS, or SS from other teams.
  • Steal 1 K, 1 P, or 1 ST from other teams.

Rules:

  • You cannot steal two players from one team.
  • You can only steal players that are currently a C, D, or F contract. S, A, and B are protected.
  • You cannot steal anyone listed as drafted in 1994, so Kurt Warner is protected, even if he's an F-contract.
  • You cannot steal anyone who is bright red as they are retiring, although light red is okay.
  • You cannot steal anyone who has 1 year listed on their contract because that's about to turn into a zero, meaning they aren't under contract.
  • It might be possible that you can't steal a WR, RB, or QB under these conditions. That just means you won't steal one.

I'll let @OrangeP47 go first with his Jaguars, and then I'll pick people from teams he doesn't draw from.

Colts - G Brown (Jaguars)
Cowboys - MLB Biekert (Jaguars)

Falcons - ST Shelley (Jaguars)
Giants - RB Murrell (Panthers)
Oilers - QB Moon (Panthers)

Seahawks - G Shields (Panthers)
Steelers - WR Brown (Panthers)

Alright, so both franchise teams have been set up. Both the Panthers and Jaguars are the worst teams in the NFL. Saints are kind of in bad shape too. 49ers defense has collapsed with a retirement and and losing a good young player to the expansion draft.

Here are the retirements:

Broncos SS Smith
Browns RB Pruitt
Browns MLB Mecklenburg
49ers DT McMichaels
Lions QB Simms
Rams RB Dickerson
Saints WR Toon
Steelers SS Shell

Resignings!

@matthewyoung123 @OrangeP47 @jnewt @Rezi @ebrk85

Time to resign players:

  • See the spreadsheet. Anyone with a 0 under their contract years needs to be resigned or dropped.
  • Their asking contract level is to the left of it, many want raises.
  • Your current contracts should be up to date. Therefore, if it says you have 5 A contracts, then you can't sign anyone with A-0
  • Feel free to bump people up a contract level to fit them or to cut someone to make room. Feel free to offer trades.
  • Anyone bright red will retire if they don't get their desired contract. Light red means they may retire after this season.
  • Please just give me the names of who you will sign. Only give me a contract level if you are changing their asking price. No need to let me know who you don't resign. Let me know if you cut anyone under contract.

Dolphins: Can you attempt to offer someone a contract less than what they're asking? If so, we'll offer Sharpe an A contract and let him walk otherwise. If Sharpe can take an A contract, we'll cut Tuinei. If he can't take an A, we'll re-sign everyone else, including Tuinei.

Falcons: re-sign everyone

Raiders: re-sign everyone

Steelers: re-sign everyone

Vikings: re-sign everyone

Free Agency & Trades!

@OrangeP47 @jnewt @matthewyoung123 @ebrk85 @Rezi

Time to make free agent bids. Make sure you have contract room. Also, you can make trades. This is the first time we have an S-contract free agent. Sharpe realizes he could be someone's S-contract with his skill set. He's thinking of retirement, so he wants to go out with some big money. The Dolphins already had QB Kelly under S-contract. Aside from Sharpe, you still have some solid players. Of the QBs, Grbac could probably start, while the others are better for being backups.

Choices:

QBs Name Contract Rank Years Left
QB Frerotte, Gus F 3
QB Grbac, Elvis C 3
QB Shuler, Heath B 3
QB Brown, Dave B 3
Position Name Contract Rank Years Left
WR Pickens, Carl B 3
WR McDuffie, OJ B 3
WR Clark, Gary B 3
WR Sharpe, Sterling S 3
T Gogan, Kevin B 3
OLB Jackson, Rickey A 3
OLB Talley, Darryl A 3
OLB Banks, Carl A 3
CB Smith, Thomas B 3
CB McDaniel, Terry B 3
CB Davis, Eric B 3
CB Lewis, Darryll C 3
FS Glenn, Vencie A 3
K Bahr, Chris C 3
K Elam, Jason C 2
K Carney, John C 2
P Feagles, Jeff C 2
P Bennett, Darren C 2
KR/PR Howard, Desmond A 3
