    For the record, Party Leader Chase will defer to Lincoln’s VP selection and not make a competing VP nomination.

    It was fun watching some of the hardcore DeSantis supporters on twitter last night- I’d say it generally was months of delusional, head in the sand denial, then last night shifted to a one to two hour meltdown and raging that the media shouldn’t have called the obvious result so early, then shifted right back to denial, with loads of tweets about why this is actually a great result for DeSantis!

    After the stunt Campbell just pulled in the SCOTUS nomination, Chase declares that he will do everything in his power to make sure Campbell never becomes President.

    All right, is everyone sitting down? Because I'm about to do something truly crazy, something that I don't think I've ever seen done before, at least in the playtests that I've followed closely- President Salmon P Chase will adhere to established precedent and decline to run for a third term. Celebrity and perennial House candidate Horace Greeley will run as a major candidate. Senator Benjamin Wade will run as a minor candidate.

    Technically I don't think Chase can "compel" Curtis to retire since Curtis has Integrity, though in this particular case I could choose to have him step down since he's a member of my faction. Regardless, he'll stay in the court and Chase will nominate @Largo833 Samuel Fenton Cary to take McLean's spot.
