  1. Biden shouldn't be rated at all while he's still in office Wilson is still way too high. JFK is always too high. LBJ continues to improve as the irrelevance of Vietnam becomes more apparent Reagan is too low, but not surprising given the left leaning tendencies of the ranking I still believe Buchanan should be last. The minimum I expect from a president is for the country to survive their term intact.
  2. Is anybody undecided about Trump?
  3. Must be the crowd you hang out with. Nobody I know watched the Depp-Heard trial but almost all of them are following the hearings.
  4. In two years the GOP will sweep the White House and both houses of Congress. Then they will pass a national abortion ban.
  5. I think you're wrong. You don't want to entertain any different ideas because your party has control of the court.
  6. The law would likely have more consistency as judges would be far less likely to overturn established precedents and cases would be heard by a different panel than the one that granted certiorari, reducing partisan decisions.
  7. The Supreme Court shouldn't be a standing court at all. Every year randomly select one judge from each circuit. Those selected will serve as the Supreme Court for that year. When their term is over they return to their circuit. Once a judge serves on the SC they can't be chosen again for a few years.
  8. Jimmy Carter took office with supermajorities in both houses of congress. The Democrats could have passed federal legislation that would have taken this issue out of the courts for good while the decision was still fresh. Instead they let it rest on a paper thin SCOTUS majority that was a godsend for Republican fundraising and get-out-the-vote efforts for decades. Today people across the country are reaping what their "leaders" have sown.
  9. If that's the standard, Arthur Balfour should be included
  10. As opposed to one political leader in one country, of which there are many included. Almost none of them have any impact lasting past their lifetime.
  11. Rosalind Franklin should be added to Franklin, Watson, Crick John Ford was a better and more influential film director than several who were listed. Akira Kurosawa should be listed if any film makers are.
  12. "According to Biblical tradition, the only virgin woman to give birth in human history" Not really The term conception in this context does not mean the active or generative conception by her parents. Her body was formed in the womb of the mother, and the father had the usual share in its formation. The question does not concern the immaculateness of the generative activity of her parents. Neither does it concern the passive conception absolutely and simply (conceptio seminis carnis, inchoata), which, according to the order of nature, precedes the infusion of the rational soul. The person is truly conceived when the soul is created and infused into the body. Mary was preserved exempt from all stain of original sin at the first moment of her animation, and sanctifying grace was given to her before sin could have taken effect in her soul.
  13. I know Andrew McCutcheon made over $50M as a Pirate
  14. Without Malthus we wouldn't have Thanos. More seriously, the Malthusian league destigmafied contraception and laid the social groundwork for the birth control pill and legalized abortion. That's a pretty significant impact. Keynesian economic theory is also heavily influenced by Malthus.
  15. There's been a push in recent years to have various types of dance included in the Olympics. Only ice dancing has been accepted at present.
  16. My #1 takeaway from the hearings is that it really takes a lot of effort to make Mike Pence a sympathetic character
  17. Ruiz hasn't fought in over a year. That's generally when boxrec moves fighters to inactive status.
  18. "It’s easy to confuse 'what is' with 'what ought to be', especially when ‘what is’ has worked out in your favor." Proper reform will only come from those willing to look past the politics of the moment.
  19. They're not from "across the political spectrum". Right from the top the plan was "Let’s assemble a group of liberal scholars to write a new document."
  20. Boxrec has Michael Hunter and Martin Bakole in the top 10 instead of Ruiz & Sanchez
  21. Are we to assume this modern Shakespeare is now American or is he writing from an across the pond perspective?
  22. Vcczar's description did him no favors
  23. I don't understand why popes have their title included with their name when no others do
  24. The town I live in is too small for wards or districts
